Everyone over the age of 30 (pre-internet) pronounce words completely wrong. I love it. The only way we saw words, magazine's and books. Someone would pronounce it wrong and culture would run with. Even now I refuse to pronounce these words properly. The grammar police can suck my kiss. Just because we have the ability to hear words spoken properly instantly on our phones, doesn't make them proper.

I am sure it has been pronounced incorrectly for years, because Danzig probably grew weary of correcting people constantly. @@fungus_am0nguz644 did you really see The Misfits play? Like the late 70s early 80s Misfits? If so that's EXTREMELY RARE!! Those are the type of shows where not a lot of people were in attendance. Mainly people that were part of that scene back then. Those are the type of shows that you could have maybe ran into Cliff Burton before he was in Metallica. Or at least before his fame. My earliest was seeing Danzig play in 1988 when he first came out as Danzig.

And it is exactly as you say it was, not many plp on those shows but the plp of the scene and I didnt ran into Cliff but I saw Frank Zappa (I didnt even know it was him) and many others but no one really gave a shit back then, there's also that story about Bobby drunk puke hitting John Lennon once at Mudd club, oh lovely youth where have u gone? Initium and November Coming Fire are two essential deathrock albums. Songs like “Archangel” and “He-who-cannot-be-named” are some of Danzig’s best. To me, Archangel is one of, if not, the greatest song in Danzig’s entire discography, and the majority of Misfits/Danzig fans haven’t even listened to it.

But it's weird a Reviewer didn't catch it, it's their debut, you'd think he'd listen to it, its sang pretty clearly. & I'm pretty sure by now every version of that song has someone in the top comments saying how to pronounce it.

I had not heard any of the Misfits songs yet so it was Samhain that first introduced me to Glenn's music. The band went out looking for whoever, I think the drummer was from Das Damen(sp) hung in the club to watch the gear. SO in the ensueing time a young lady got up and asked the drummer to play the beat to the 50 s hit " fever". He did and she sang the hell out of it. When the and came back they finished up and rocked out some Misfits tunes for the " baldy sing- a- long". Crew. It was a tip 5 show for me and I've seen a bunch over the years. Nice piece thanks for doing.

No one is being a pronunciation Nazi. If anything we are delighted someone has taken a bit of Gaelic culture , especially someone who isn't a Gael and made it known to the world. It's great that it may had lead some people to chasing it up and discovering more Irish mythology . who knows maybe someone might visit Ireland someday and ask people about it, but if you called it Sam - Hane no one will have a clue what you are talking about. Gaelic is a completely differently language to English. The pronunciations can be very different . If you you are not saying right then you are not saying it right .

What people don't understand is that samhain is the same band as Danzig. They were signed by Rick rubin and he encouraged he used his name because of the fact that there was a revolving door of guitar players and drummers.
Eerie and Glenn ( Damien too) are the core members just like Jerry and Glenn are the misfits

Life happens and went through some crazy shit and lost a good majority of stuff I collect. Now I'm seeing, the price for "November coming fire" on vinyl is on eBay ... wish I still had both in my collection. Not that I'd want to sell it. But, give it another 10 years, I bet it will be worth even more.
