The rock industry was pissed off with their love song albums because Ambrosia to them was supposed to be the next Yes band. They had no mercy at all so this band will never get into the R&R Hall of fame.
Ambrosia is cross between the Doobie Brothers and Hall and Oats. Cool rhythm and blues from the 70s. Hammond B3 organ tenor sax walking bass perfect vocal harmonies.
One of the best bridge lines ever written: When the pain of love surrounds you And the world may be unkind I'll put my loving arms around you Take you far from this place and time
Love this song, Schnell! Great choice, great channel! Peace and Love to you! PS. There was NO AUTO TUNE back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. All 100% pure talent.
Ambrosia was formed in the early 70's, recorded their first album in 1975 and disbanded in 1982. Their most known hits were 'How Much I Feel' (1978), and 'Biggest Part of Me' and 'You're the Only Woman' (both from 1980).
Music from this era 70,s just can't get any better. Its really nice to see the younger gen, love good quility music, which can never be matched today. Holding on to yesterday is also a gem.
This is from the very early 1980's....or 1980...i had my first crush in high school and this song was a huge hit at the time!!.....im 60 now so.....a long long time ago for me lol!!
I was 14 in the summer of 1980 and worked a full time job and a part time job, so I easily afforded this album. I bought it on vinyl and played it on my oldest sister’s turntable. I was so in love with a gal 2 years older than me. The next summer we moved away so that put an end to any chance. Had we not moved there’s no doubt after high school I would have married her.
Davis Robert Pack was the lead singer. What a voice. They had most of their hits in the 70s as I recall. This song got a ton of air time. Great reaction. Take care....
Thanks for the great reaction! A good Ambrosia song to try next is "Biggest Part Of Me" Live from the show Midnight Special. ua-cam.com/video/0QIWtY7gzvA/v-deo.html
Hi! Just subscribed. Ambrosia's music (and David Pack's vocals) is definitely something you'll enjoy checking out. For David's more broad display, try "How Much I Feel", and then you'll discover why this song ("You're The Only Woman") was arguably written in response, LOL
This song was from the album 180 because it came out in the 1st month of 1980. So it was at the start of the new decade, January, but this song itself was huge on the radio in the summer of 1980. It’s such a beauty and you appreciated and covered it so well here. ❤️🎵💎
R&B with a mellow rock groove (in 1980). More: "Holdin' On To Yesterday"(1975), "How Much I Feel"(1978), "Biggest Part Of Me"(1980). A somewhat similar band but with a more jazz influence is "Atlanta Rhythm Section" with songs: "Spooky", "So Into You", "Champagne Jam", "Imaginary Lover". One concert I went to was both Ambrosia and America. America is a band I think you'd enjoy since you liked the Southern Rock, Country, and this one. Songs: "Ventura Highway", "Sister Golden Hair", “I Need You”, "Horse With No Name", “Daisy Jane”, "Sandman", "Tin Man".
The word is "purity". Music back then had purity about them in every aspect from the melodies, harmonies, lyrics, arrangements, musicians' performance, strings, horns, they used whatever means they could to deliver the most polished music they can make it. Virutes are called virtues for the noblest of reasons and purity is up there if not the most prized virtue.
The singer for this song is David Pack with the beard. He's a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. If you want to see them perform this song truly live, go to ua-cam.com/video/sZqC8YQelHs/v-deo.html to watch them on a 1980 episode of "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert."
Reminds me of Lori! She was my weekend supervisor; she was awesome! She had a smile that was intoxicating. She also has the most beautiful blue eyes, also! And they twinkled when she smiled! Still love her to this day. The last email she sent to me she said " I think of you often" Never had the nerve to tell her how much she meant to me! After her I didn't date anyone ! She is the only lady I can say I truly loved!😉👀😥
@@tommypauly3249 you should reach out to her. Things may have changed since then but you never know until you try. I regret not having married my high school sweetheart and because of Facebook I was able to contact her and are friends. We are both married to someone else but that flame still burns in us both for each other.
It's been 7yrs, first of all! At that point , my wife passed a year before with MS. Lori helped me through that. She had problems with her marriage also. Husband was cheating! Anyway, we got along really good! Lori wasn't being thought about at that time. We cut- up at work nothing more. As a matter of fact, I would work for her if someone had an emergency. She had told me about her married life. All I said, was some people have no idea they have! Anyway, Her and me are med. lab people in a clinical setting. During a slow time I was watching Robert Palmer song Addicted to Love on the on the internet. She was walking by, nd I said the girls to me looked hot! She as working in chemistry an d I was working heme. Anyway, she looked at me and asked me " do you think I am attractive! I thought holy shit! My brain went into overdrive and to!d her "You're my Boos" that as a stupid reply. After that we talked alot, but no feelings were expressed. But one day she told me that she needed to leave early. What was odd, we talked a little more and I told her she better get on the road. After about 20 minutes it was time for me to leave. That was strange because, it seemed that she just wanted small talk before I left. After that I cut up with her and she always had a reason to talk to me about work! Tha was when she sent me an email that she said I think about you alot! Hell, I had her on my mind a long time before that. She is definitely one of a kind!😍😉🥰💖

Schnell Hi from Puerto Rico , this is awesome music , you can very well go down this kind of rock , also u would like How much i feel and biggest part of me. also by Ohio Player the song Baby come back. Keep it up girl
Ambrosia was more of a 70's than 80's band, even though this album was released in 1980. The first year if a new decade is always a continuation of the previous one, because the new decade's sound had yet to be established. That's the case with this song. Ambrosia were true masters of 70's smooth soft rock.
I just listened to a few of your very own videos--damn, girl, you've got a super set of pipes! I've played bass (professionally) in 5 bands, from rock to jazz rock/fusion, and am now continuing with a super fun punk band. I would LOVE to comp you on bass! Alas, you're in Canada and I'm way down South (USA).
Just to let you know, Ambrosia is pronounced Am-bro-shuh, with the accent on the bro part. I know it doesn't sound how it looks. Great reaction! This is barely 80's, (1980, actually, and their last hit. The rest were in the 70s). They had one last album after this- in 1982, plus a compilation album in '97.
Hey, I was 21 also! Favorite decade of my life was the 70s! The best music and movies were produced/released in the 70s! The Golden Era of Music/Cinema!
I really don't need the opinion of these people to tell me our generations music was incredible. I highly doubt you'll find radio stations playing Taylor swift in 30 years. But I bet you'll still find stations playing Skynyrd, Ambrosia, Stones, Beatles, etc.
I landed here on Rammstein video..And found out, that actualy you are honestly good singer..heard 2 or 3 songs from you..one was with your husband guitar.. You know, Rammstein is much more..my advice, get subtitles if not available, and watch until the end, in future reactions from them..They are certified pyrotecnicians, after accident in 1996, to avoid it..Borned in DDR Germany..Poets..layers of messages..and aren't shy of controversial subjects..They have not so many ballads, but all mean a lot.. Their Live or Videos, are the Best! I never was a band fan guy...BUT, the only band that would make me "get up" from my bed, as a paraplegic guy, is definitly Rammstein. I would advice from new to older musics..just because.. Masterpieces of Art they produce..

David Pack’s voice is severely underrated.
The rock industry was pissed off with their love song albums because Ambrosia to them was supposed to be the next Yes band. They had no mercy at all so this band will never get into the R&R Hall of fame.
Few vocalists can match David Pack
Oh, you don't even know the half of it. He has one of them voices that I don't want to know what it's like to not ever hear it again 😊
Underrated? 🤣😂😅
Ambrosia is cross between the Doobie Brothers and Hall and Oats. Cool rhythm and blues from the 70s. Hammond B3 organ tenor sax walking bass perfect vocal harmonies.
I love the comparison. Hall and Oates was one of my favorite groups when I was growing up...
You mean the Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers, he is singing harmonies in this by the way, but not the original Doobies
One of the best bridge lines ever written:
When the pain of love surrounds you
