The crazy thing about Daryl Hall is that he doesn't warm up his voice. He just does this all naturally. He does a show called Daryls House. On a episode with John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls they discuss this. Great show if you want to learn about how music is created and it's history.
Yeah that was a great show, stumbled on it in the early YT days. The PBS home reno show This Old House went and visited Daryl's house and he talked about how he renovated that 1800's house over the years and gave a tour and talked about how he loved old houses and I think bought a smaller one, moved it and attached it to the original house giving him that studio space.
Daryl wrote this song for his longtime partner Sara Allen. Daryl Hall is an incredible singer who was traine by his vocal coach mom from age 3. And, yes, the ladies love him.

They were major. Massive. Fantastic I the ‘70’s, blew up in the ‘80’s. Anything from the ‘80’s. They went from lots of straight soul to pop rock soul.

Philly Soul! These guys can sing! I saw them in the 1990's, an acoustic evening. It was one of the most beautiful concerts I have been to.

So glad u love this song! I heard it for the 1st time almost 49 years ago! I was at a huge campout/party (keg party), here in Oregon. I was sleeping under the stars, a really beautiful night. This song came on the radio. It was so beautiful that I thought, I'm going to name my 1st born daughter Sara...and I did, 10 years later ❤️
This song was written for Darryl Hall's long time gf, Sara Allen. They had a 30 year relationship.

I grew up in Louisiana, one of them is from Louisian!!!! We saw them every year at the state fair for years with cost of admission to the fair..... Neon Moon, Believe ,and so many more...❤ that you enjoy them
Daryl had a show on MTV called Daryl’s house (much later in his life) where performers would do Hall and Oates songs, and he would do their songs. It’s out there on You Tube.

Love this song! I had a German Shepherd mix dog named Sara, who used to show her front teeth when I'd sing this to her! This song reminds me of the pretty girl that helped raised my kids. And, yes, Daryl Hall and John Oates are fantastic!
