After I found out that mode 1 is not the opposite of mode 2 I thought my goodness that sounds even harder, me being from the US and flying mode 2 and all. You guys are awesome 😎! Best wishes from your friends across the pond, and across the Pacific for you Xjet!
Mode 1 is easier for me too, as that was what I was taught with here in Australia, after being out of the game for a few years I bought a mode 2 radio, and after trying it out for a few months, I converted it over to mode 1 and my flying improved almost immediately.
My Zorro arrived today, had to go inside it to change to Mode 1 properly...Quite impressed with it so far... TBS parts coming to change my 868mhz TX Module from Micro to Nano for this transmitter..I like the way it feels in my hands...🤔😀🇬🇧
A friend of mine refuses to learn how to solder because he says he's too shaky. I will be sending him a link to your channel. If you can do it he certainly can. THanks for the inspiration.
My hands are pretty shaky partly due to childhood illness and partly due to drinking coffee constantly. Those flip up magnifying glasses actually seem to eliminate nearly all the shake when I use the highest power lenses. Best $20 I've spent in helping my soldering and I no longer dread working on even the tiniest micro boards.
Thanks for this review. I'm going to wait for them to fix those dodgy battery covers before purchasing. Its so disappointing that they stuffed up on something so simple.
You have a new picture with your hand now. I have never see that before verry nice man🤗 and a verry nice rewived of the Zorro transmitter. The Zorro is not in stock anywhere in any country saaaad😭.
Hey Andy, Mode 1 doesn´t look weird, i´m on it since 30+ years , cannot understand why others put the most important stick inputs , aileron and elevator , on one stick (-: . Thumbs up for the detailed review.
Not sure which version is the right for me to replace a QX7. I have several quads with Frsky d8 and d16. Maybe the 4in1? Then if I get a quad with ELRS I just get the ELRS module. But I’m worried if the radio last with those small batteries that the Zorro have.
Totally different feel to the q7. The batteries are the weak point. Depends how long you fly for. If you are doing 40 min long range lion flights it could be a problem
Awesome flying and review, Andy!!! 😃 You know, I didn't like the screen at first, from the first pictures I saw... But it's not that bad! Then I got mad about the batteries... But not anymore either! Pretty tempting little radio! 😃 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Will this radio bind up to the Emax Hawk Pro? Sorry I'm new at the hobby and the Hawk Pro will be my next quad so I want to know if this transmitter will bind up to the Hawk Pro?
Great vid as usual. One thing I'd really like to know is what does the stick travel measure with the sticks set to their shortest and then their longest? I would be most greatful if you could measure that.
@@AndyRCchannel yeah, it's probably similar to the Nirvana I use... But I was thinking I might just see if the Nirvana will power the ELRS module for a similar amount of time as the Zorro's battery life is... Since using HDZero, just at 200mw, I'm noticing my x6b ibus receiver is failsafeing.... Need to start the ELRS thing.
Hey Andy, how long do those 18350 batts last on the ELRS version? I'm waiting for mine in the mail, can't wait to set it up. Probably going to use it at 100mW at 250MHz packet rate. Thanks!
The batteries aren’t going to be a major problem for most people, unless they’re doing hours of flying each day, besides, ost people will be buying spares anyway, plus the ability to quickly charge them will mean that they can give them a quick charge after a few packs. I’m waiting on mine to arrive and I’ve got 4 batteries also coming, looking forward to trying it out and binding it to a few of my quads. Most of mine are spektrum and unfortunately I ordered the cc2500 version, but I’ll get a multi protocol module for the back, plus a crossfire module as well. I do also have a couple of frsky quads as well and usually use my tx16s for them, but I find that I’d love the smaller size of this radio as I often feel like it is too big in the hand and uncomfortable getting to some of the switches, this one looks like it will be much easier for my liking, but maybe that’s just me. Nice review Andy, I’m sure that once you get used to it you’ll probably find that you’ll love the portability of your new radio.
@@AndyRCchannel , I’m hoping that on the micro version of crossfire there’s a dynamic setting so that It can adjust according to needs, so that it won’t be running on full power all the time. I haven’t looked at those micro modules as yet, but I’m assuming that they are capable of modulating the power. Plus I’ll be putting a 2s battery underneath for extra power. Hope the weather gets warmer for you in the meantime and thanks for the reply, have a good day Andy.
'Andy is running across a field with the new Radiomaster Zorro, mmmmokay" My brain not processing properly that you took of with 'stick cam" lol. that shakiness has some weird side effects mate!
I have a M2 Evo and I am looking at getting a Zorro but unsure to go for the 4in1 or the elrs, which would be best? I’ll only be using this for my M2 Evo. Cheers
Hi Andy ,I watched Botgrinders review of the zorro and he said the gimbal tension only adjusts the horozontal but not vertically ,do you find this true?
The gamepad style radios are the only ones i can hold for long without either my shoulders or my wrist hurting. I have a wide torso so the angles on the "classic" radios gives me some verry bad ergonomics. I am still searching for one that has the gimbals moved more to the center since i have big hands and have to hold the radio with my middle and ringfinger pulling out. Is this radio bigger then the TBS tango 2?
good point i hadnt thought of. tango2 is same size on the length as the zorro but because the tango 2 has its battery flat internally its width (hand grips) is shorter. the tango two gimbals are further apart and also more throw. the gimbals on the zorro are closer together
I have a little paradox here between setting up the TX16s and/or the Zorro to the Liftoff Simulator. Okay to start out both do link up no problem to Liftoff. However; anyone assign functions on both controllers like, flight modes, arm/disarm for example and get them to work in Liftoff as well? The RadioMaster Zorro totally works in this area. After spending seriously over 8 to 10 hours watching UA-cam video's and trying all sorts of different ideas I can assign the functions on my RadioMaster TX16s, but non of them work on the Liftoff simulator whatsoever! Has anyone else run into this issue and solved it? Any help here in a resolution would be very grateful.
super new here...with the radiomaster zorro 4:1 - What types of receivers should I go after for compatibility. All the reviews say that it will bind with almost anything..to a newbie, what is the anything?
Depends really. Elrs is the one taking over. Spektrum doesn't have enough range for fpv. You could go frsky but they have locked out their receivers so it'd a lottery what u get from them.
The battery for 8,99$ are ridulous expensive considering that you will get 1800 mAh while my 2x 18650 Samsung INR35E deliver 7000 mAh for roughly 7€ which is less than 9$. I simply wait till they will have developed the Zorro Max with 18650 bays and some more improvements. Are those calibrators sliders or microswitches ? Sliders could show the current state which I love compared to microswitches. I need them for my planes quite often.
@@AndyRCchannel you had found out a lot of flaws other reviews had not recogniced like the grips coming loose and the tension only working in the bottom part, no one had mentioned before cause I had watched 15 reviews of the 24 in total. I also guess the whole LiPo extender battery can not really be good considering that the other batteries are Li Ion cells cause they usually get charged differently. And then the radio becomes cheap cause instead of buying modules starter kit for 100$ you can get a whole radio for just 40$ more which is a bargain at least for me except the whole battery struggles which I had already on the T-lite with just 1 cell only bay for 18650. hopefully the views go up again after the first wave of 22 reviews on day 1 last sunday.
