Well, this video answered a lot of questions about my new Zorro that I came here... not looking for. 😉 What I'm _actually_ trying to do is set up a small scratch built model airplane. I could have had these throws, Rates, and Expo done in 5 minutes on my FlySky Tx. Zorro... not so much. That was what I was really hoping you'd cover. Does the Zorro even _have_ subtrim? Need to limit range on elevator and rudder or they may get damaged. Not to mention over-control issues. And just slow down the rates for smooth handling.
Has Zorro made it's mark?!? Birth of a new generation of radio controllers? Let me know in the comments below and make sure to check out the TMac FPV site at tmacfpv.com ! 👍After further testing, at 100mW output power, the Zorro remained operational for right at 2 hours with the 18350 Li Ion batteries reaching 6.1 volts at which time I powered the Zorro off to prevent damage to the batteries. In this video I had set the "low battery voltage" alarm to 6.7 volts based on "operating voltage" of 6.6v-8.4v listed in "Quick Start Guide." After conducting this test, I have now adjusted the "low battery voltage" alarm to 6.2 volts. BONUS material! here's how to turn your transmitter's momentary switches into "latching ON/OFF switches" ua-cam.com/video/7Y5h-iyWgzs/v-deo.html
can i use 2.4ghz nano elrs module on zorro radio or this radio can only use 900mhz nano elrs module ? is there a difference in 900mhz nano module and 2.4ghz nano module in terms of their connecting pins that zorro radio nano module bay can accept?? thanks.
Another great informative video......i have the Zorro TX ELRS starter model coming... which includes 3 RX`s...So this has proved very useful again...Thank you.
i wish there were a straightforward way to downgrade to older ELRS versions (i.e., v3 to v2). ended up buying a receiver module i'm hoping i can flash to v2. i was able to get my zorro up to ELRS 3.1.2 without a problem. i can now fly all my drones except one, the latter of which only supports ELRS v2... rip. either i use the module or replace the rx in the quad (betafpv cetus x)
Tmac: This was an outstanding video! Steps were done quickly, but with clear video, audio, and excellent clarity for all. I will use this protocol to set up EdgeTx on my Eachine TX16S and Radiomaster TX12. Since you mentioned that you have both of these other Radiomaster products, could you briefly compare both to your new Radiomaster Zorro? Your choices of buttons for mixing the ARM and BEEP functions make great sense to me. Could you comment how you would configure this (or either of my) other models to enable buddyboxing this radio as either the instructor or student? I'm guessing either of the right hand temporary buttons on the top or back of the Zorro make the best sense for this. Thank you for your exceptional care in covering all the features and installation steps! Do you feel that the Zorro is a sufficiently better small OpenTx or EdgeTx transmitter than the Radiomaster TX12 to warrent its purchase? Keep up your great work! - Jim
Nice video. I'm a newb and don't understand many of the acronyms you mention. I know there's a lot to learn. On 9:05, Channel order (??) what is AETR? I can change to differnent ones. I don't know what any of them mean so where do I find the meaning of the different orders? On 13:00, why are you setting up a beeper on chn 7 on a momentary switch and when or where is this used? Thx for any response.
Channel order at www.multi-module.org/using-the-module/channel-order . Beeper is used to locate quadcopter when it has "ventured off unexpectedly." Momentary switch is normally used for it so it's not activated for a long period of time which becomes both annoying and wears out the beeper battery (perhaps before you find the quadcopter). Hope this helps. Happy flying & Clear Skies!
@@TMacFPV Thx so much for the info. Yes. Location beeper. Never entered my mind like most stuff. Will use the link on chnl orders. I just subscribed to your chnl.
For anyone who runs into a COM error or platform io issue the fix for me was simply deleting the folder found at "C:\Users\*YourWindowsUserName*\.platformio" Be sure to delete the entire folder. If it doesn't show up on your C drive lookup how to show hidden folders on windows(I do this every windows format). I believe my issue stemmed from conflicting previous versions of platformio that were downloaded months ago during my fight with some 3d printer code/VSCode. For COM errors I suggest installing the ST drivers(easiest way to find the drivers for new FPV guys is install betaflight configurator and the files are on front page of app).
Hey Tommy! I got mine direct from RadioMaster (there's links to the Zorro in this videos description). Or, if you want to wait, pre-order from a shop in U.S. and it'll ship when the shop gets them in. I myself have never pre-ordered from a U.S. shop. I've just waited until they got the stock in to place the order. I usu6 go through RDQ, DefianceRC, GetFPV (east coast) or Pyridrine (west coast)
Why is Zorro ELRS connection with EP1 in Model Selection 01, 02, 03 and more? I have: Model 01 = drone, Model 02 = Reptil Wing, Model 03 = SU27 (Those different setting). My mind, 3 ea model with 3 ea EP1 and pluging lipo can be flight together at some time by Model 01 Zorro.
Great review as always and the intro was perfect. Do you have an edgetx video on the tx16s coming down the pike? I want to make the switch but am concerned about losing my inav Lua and some of the great widgets you've shown how to set up on this channel.
Thanks for this video. I didn't understand everything (I'm French) but may be you could help me. My Zorro is not recognized by my Mac M1Max when i try to use it on simulators. Any explanations ? Thanks !
i have an zorro 4 in 1 radio i notice on the radio master website there is a elrs module , is there a video showing how i can install/replace the 4 in 1??
I just got a radiomaster zorro 4in1 with TBS crossfire nano external module. I just bought the geprc rocket plus tbs crossfire edition as well. I updated the external module, then paired it with reciever on drone. Flashing blue light (means update now going to drone module) then now solid green on drone and remote. I know remote is paired because it says telemetry lost if drone is powered off. Now, I have solid green lights on both drone and remote external module. Both are paired. But when trying to get stick feedback on betaflight or receiver feedback at all, nothing. I move drone around with my hand on 3D model betaflight first page, drone moves. But nothing on reciever tab. I tried serial uart, crsf module. I tried disabling abc filter on zorro remote settings (tells you to do that on betaflight settings). I need help please. Its got to be something in betaflight is wrong settings wise. I looked up youtube videos for days. Can never find a tbs crossfire setup on zorro, only elrs. Thank you in advance!
@@TMacFPV he means the one that use to be sold for the frsky xlite radios. I think they should be able to work. It's a part they made to fit the full crossfire module in the nano size one of the xlite
Try ImpulseRC Driver Fixer or Zadig perhaps? Sounds like a driver issue. You're using the USB port at top of radio correct? Not the bottom charge port? If you continue to have issues, I've found RadioMaster Support outstanding. Keep in mind, their timezones I believe is GMT+10 www.radiomasterrc.com/pages/contact

The best intro for this radio by far. With this radio i am thinking to move to LRS for all my small quads. Thanks so much for this super review.
