iv had the meepo hurricane with over 7k miles. get the gear drive and don't look back. there are way more pros than cons and its a really good system. i beat the board up too. i got an extra set just incase. but the system is solid. zero issues.
I have never had that issue with my Meepo Hurricane. There motors have heat sink covers that helps them stay cool. The gears themselves can get hot but that's were you need grease to keep the gears from overheating. If I do encounter these issues I'll have a video stating so in the future.

Geardrive for the win I like belts but a good gear drive is a no contest especially the 2in 1 from Acedeck
Thanks for making this video. Been searching for this exact comparison
Happy to help 👍

How about the sound, gears vs belts? Which is louder?
I think Gears are the loudest. Belts are in the middle. Hub motors are the quietest.
Biggest problem with gear drives is them getting too hot and it also makes the motor overheat.

Haven't ran into that on my nomad n1 with element gear drive yet either and I push my board hard through the whole 1035wh battery
