Awesome in-depth review again. I had the pleasure of riding one last night while on a group ride we bumped into Scotty who’s Scotty he was out cruzin the beach pathways on the Gold Coast on the Linnpower. Although It was a short test ride I did get a feel for it and I have to say I liked it would I buy one definitely.
Ah thats to funny running into him! what an awesome guy! yes, for linnpowers first board they have made some solid performance and reliable parts in my opinion!
Another major plus to less rolling resistance. If the remote loses connection (it shouldn't) but if it does, it's less liekly you'll be thrown forward by the boards sudden increase in roll resistance. I was skeptical about gear drive at first, but after riding it, I really feel why the raceboards are all gear drive.
Super clear video and production. Others vids show belts shredding when ridden on gravel. Is this a common problem with all esk8 belts, or just lower quality belts? There is a $200-400 jump to gear drive and some brands (Hoyt) don’t even go there.
Thank you so much for the compliment! Truly appreciate it friend! Belts can shred for many reasons, stress from terrain like gravel definitely doesn’t help as they get stuck in the teeth of the belt and pulley and when you’re just ripping down a path it’ll cause it to snap, I don’t think it’s a “quality” of the belt but more the abuse the belt is taking. That 200-400 jump is more for less maintenance, gear drives aren’t perfect as well but overall have less of a failure rate than belts. Especially if maintained proper by greasing it ever 700-800 miles
*Your style of video is becomin iconic but this took it to the next level, awesome openin with cuts timed with the beats!!* 🔥⚡️🤟🏽⚡️🔥 A blend of upbeat & chill in the same video, bravo 👏🏽👏🏽 Such a cool board and tech man and I look forward to seein even more from Linnpower. Ps, would love to see you shreddin in some High Hop skate shoes/vans! I'm so used to skatin in high tops now that it feels weird to skate in low tops... even though I used to 😂
Hey Drew! I finally did it. I saw your review on the interstellar and put my money into the new 2.0+ with the radiums. Ever since I got it, I've been really intimidated by it. The remote needs half the throttle to begin moving and I'm really confused on how the truck angles work. Could you please make a video on it and deep dive on how to completely get it dialed in? Like the trucks, the foot positioning, the vesc, the battery and stuff. I'd really appreciate that man. Also, love your videos! Keep it up dude!
First off thank you so much for checking out the videos truly appreciated! You’ve made an awesome purchase! I love my interstellar! I kinda made three videos in the interstellar already, I have a video in the Nexus trucks and the Nova tires even (I’ll Link them below) and I’ve messed with the VESC tool app to tune my board up a little more power, but I wouldn’t recommend messing with that as you have an extremely powerful board, what you’re looking for is to dial down the remote input and give you less dead band it seems. So you can have more throttle at lower thumb input if that sounds correct? Or even tune down the motor amps to the radium motors as they are very, very powerful as well till you get a good feel for that raw power! Personally the team at Mboards could walk you through better than me while safely guiding you through it. I’m not a master at VESC and I’ve only dove into it with there technician helping me out in the phone as well! As far as the truck system and foot stance start out slow, get yourself comfortable with the board before you start ripping it and build that connection with the board! I like the place my rear foot right into drop down pocket and same with my front foot on an angle in that front pocket area. The truck angle system is designed to give you more carve or less carve. 33,44,55° the lower the number the more flat and stable it’ll feel, the higher the number the more carve you’ll feel. I like my set up 55° in the front and 44°/55° in the rear. More carve and a great amount of stability at higher speed. I believe it ships with 44° up front and 33° in the rear I can’t remember. That gives you a really really stable platform vs a more WAAH PAAH set up like I have it dialed in now. With 55/44 Does that help out? I could make a short video going further in depth but I’d just play around with the board and get yourself comfortable with what works for you!
@@DrewElia Dude, I really appreciate your input on this. So far, I've kinda figured out the bushings but not the angles yet. I've got some great carves but I start to wobble at high speed turns. I've got some huuuuuuge feet so my toes and my heels kinda hang onto the edge of the board and it rubs on the novas whenever I lean too much. I think I've gotten a little used to the throttle curves but I'm going to have to open it up and change it later. Overall, the board is amazing! It's got so much potential waiting to be unleashed. I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do. But dude, your videos have been helping me out a lot. I really appreciate what you do man. Keep crushing it!
Nice! My board uses the Finality HD Gear Drive and these are whisper quiet. I kind of want more noise from them. It's nice to be stealth because you really cannot hear anything unless under full acceleration, but even then they are quiet compared to belt drive and other gear drives.
This is the board for off-road/cobblestone that I’m going to buy for sure. Price is so reasonable. know anything about any reviews coming for the new Tynee boards?! Mini 3 max, (what in the actual fk) Explorer pro (belt and hub variant) So exciting because Tynee is such a great company with great and fun products. My favorite out of the chinas. Sorry for the off topicness
Linnpower has came out of nowhere and this board in particular is an amazing product for the price! Love the power and carve feel for it! I have Tynee boards coming, I agree Tynee offers some serious bang for buck!
I would like helical gears. I dont like the loud sound of the gears. And smart reverse on the esc/remote. Probably i would buy it if they would do this two upgrades. And i probably buy the deck for a diy board as soon they sell it separatly. And hey i would love to have a summer mesh shirt xxl T.....navy blue 🎉😅😊
smart reverse would be a good feature on these boards. I believe down the road they will sell the deck separately? not 100% sure on that but yes it is a great DIY starting point. thanks for commenting as well haha,
You go over the pro/con list … but what was the reason you went through the time and cost to change over? Was it slippage as a heavier rider? The range difference between the Lite and Pro batteries is much more than the gear alone provides, and would have been enough reason to choose gear from the start if range was the main concern
I never had any issues with the belt drive, at all. They sent me over the gear drive for test riding purposes, in reality I loved the belt drive but the less maintenance of a gear drive is always a plus, also better rolling resistance is fantastic for that reason as well. The lite version is a great starter DIY for anyone as well cause you can upgrade gear drives, or trucks down the road. Personally though going for the pro version for battery alone is worth it, this was just to showcase that you can switch to gear drive if you wanted to down the road.
Awesome review, like always. Do you know the power spec of the motors? I've been looking into this board, but the manufacturer doesn't list this info anywhere.
I’ll look into this as well cause they didn’t tell me either! 6370 150kv but I don’t know the watts. But powerful enough to say the less! I’ll post it up here once they let me know!
How does this board carve? I'm looking for a new board and my #1 factor is carvability. I'm just looking for the board that is the most fun to carve on. Everything else is secondary. Seems hard to find any honest opinions on the different boards when it comes to carving.
Well, there are a lot of options in my opinion and there are also factors as well. DKP is the most “carvability” butttt that being said, deck choice, wheel choice, truck choice. If you’re looking for carve feel this deck has an amazing amount of POP in it. it flexes under carving and with my weight 220lbs it has this awesome snappy feel, plus with the option for mounting bindings gives you even more carveability and snowboard like feel. So if you enjoy that deep powered carve this board provides that in my opinion. Reach out to me on Instagram @DE_drones if you want to discuss it further! We can find the right board for you!
I haven't tried a gear drive yet, and this one look so sweet! Great carvings Drew.

Great point!
Gorgeous looking board and sounds mean as hell!! 🔥🤙🏽
Agreed!! she's so pretty I always end up cleaning her every ride haha yeah these gears can scream!
Love it mate. Great video legend ❤
Legend! You’re the legend, I’m just here to bask in your glory!

Linnpower baby! That’s crazy! Maybe I should have gotten this one over the Acedeck X3 Gear.
It was hard to choose between the two, they are both great!

love that wind up of a gear drive!!!
Agreed!
Looks like a powerful ride! I've only rode belts before and would be interested to get a sense for how gears feel, comparatively. Nice one
Right on! Thanks for checking out the video, gear drives are definitely a nice set up for certain situations

I think gear drive is better just because there’s no belts to think about snapping 😊
True, but when it comes to gearing out a wheel you can do that effortlessly on a pulley
Is it 7000w motors?
Total power output not each motor
@DrewElia perfect👊🏼🙂🔥
You ever consider gloves? Gloves and a helmet are like every ride for me even chill grocery runs.
I rock gloves when I’m racing. But otherwise not really. Helmet always, beyond riders jacket as well when I’m pushing it
get a very torquey high speed gear drive > any belt drive. Too much torque? dial it down in settings.
Yeah, I like the idea of gear drive more and more. Though for 2-1 set ups I want belt to be able to swap out gearing and wheels.
@@DrewEliawhat about Acedeck 2 in 1
The tracking on your camera can't keep up with your carving. it's like a sloth watching tennis.
