A friend and I blinded this against the C923, and the B524 SWEPT it in aroma, flavor and finish. An absolute mind blower. I’ve since purchased two more!
Anything outside of 2021 is fantastic!

I could not find C923 for anything, but I do have 3 C922 bottles. .....THANKFUL.
Not surprised. I had a bottle of C922 that I hadn’t opened. When all the hype came out over C923, I bought two bottles and have had a decent amount of it. Recently I opened C922 and immediately thought that it’s probably the best batch of ECBP I have had. It’s near perfect. I wish I had two bottles of that instead of C923.
Which microbatch(es) of the C923 do you have?

A buddy and I are big ECBP fans and have done several blinds over the last year or two. C922 has consistently been one of the best if not the best, regularly beating out other post pirate batches including C923 and C920 for us. Glad to see it finally getting some recognition!

Nice one. When C922 came out I remember it being the best since C920 so I’m not super surprised.

I knew off the neck pour C922 was a special batch (for me). It had that dark rich oak and good viscosity, and it had the "wow" factor. I had to get 4 more bottles 😂, gave 2 away as gifts and still have 1 bunkered. Great blind Cam!
I'm less than 12 months into my bourbon journey and recently purchased my first ECBP; C922. Found it at $69.99 too. Deliciousness!

This is why I love blinds! I would love to see you blind "A" vs. "B" vs. "C" to get the best and compare them with each other. I stopped getting "A" batches and my profile leans more to "B". I did get C922 and C923 and will try to do a similar blind. Cheers!
These along with the larceny BPs are so similar overall especially as they sit and open up for months or years it's a bit silly that some are deemed these monster bottles and others no good when the reality is 99% of whiskey drinkers couldn't tell them apart. I had an early Larceny BP maybe A121 back in the day where no one gave them much love. It sat for a year or so after I opened it and one day had a pour and it was one of the best pours I've ever had. I don't know why I'm typing this but guess the moral is open your Larcenys and let them sit for a year and see what happens and also props to cam for doing blinds like this and also doing reviews without influence from other reviews. I think that's one of the issues one channel loves a batch and all of a sudden every other channel loves it too and they disappear off shelves.

C923 beats B524 and both Smack C922 around. C923 is a stockpile batch. B524 is a backup batch. C922 I didn't regret buying but I would never buy a backup. I've not tried A123.

Based on the notes you gave I could see why you thought they were a specific batch and they ended up in the order you expected… if you’d been right about which was which.
I may have. I’m going to revisit the C922/923 and B524 comparison unblind to see what happens

I've heard Minnick say it's very important, while doing a blind, not to try to *guess* what glass is what whiskey because guessing can affect the validity of the results.
Looking forward to your revisit of this!
It's hard to disconnect and disassociate in a blind, eh?
