The Bike Riders was so good! I saw it in theaters for Jodie Comer too, couldn’t believe she narrated the whole thing. It reminded me a lot of Goodfellas.

So here, in Ontario, Canada, specifically in the GTA, we have this food franchise attached to our theatres called Outtakes, where you get to buy poutine, nachos, pizza etc. and bring it into the theatres! Plus tons of candy/chocolate options that are in bags. So for us, that amalgamation of smells is pretty normal! So it's not this crazy thing for people to sneak food in, it usually ends up being cheaper!
You guys are such a vibe. I love how ya’ll bring up topics that I can totally relate to. Never a dull moment. I’m glad I subscribed to this podcast.

Yes yes yes - Jodie Comer. Her amazing versatility and how she completely absorbed the role of an assassin as Villanelle - now on Netflix in the series “ Killing Eve”- is a no brainer that she won an Emmy for that role. What a versatile actress she is! Thank you for mentioning her new movie “ The Bikeriders”- a must see.
BTW- in Austin, Texas, several years ago I went to the Alamo Drafthouse Movie and Dinner house. They have a food menu, a ledge in front of each seat for your food- all cooked in- house- and food servers slink in and drop your order and go. They had a strict “ no coming in after the movie starts,” no textin, no talking”- set of rules. I couldn’t believe I could actually watch a movie, it was quiet, my food arrived shortly after ordering, and they had beer on tap- when you wanted more food or booze- open? Don’t know.
Never underestimate the role The L Word played in the progression of gay media at that time and how fun it all was to wait for each episode, get to know the actors roles and how they progressed thru relationships and careers, infidelities, and heartaches. It was mesmerizing- and who of us watching didn’t wish we were pulling up a chair in a gay bar to meet w friends, feel safe, and drink and dance the night away. And my hats off to all the straight actors brave enough to take on the role of a hot young lesbian. Well done- and very believable. And fun- yes!

Love you guys. You helped me a lot after adverse reaction to my coming out to my family. The L Word definitely beat sneaking down to watch the Aussie drama "Prisoner" in the middle of the night! (Yes. I'm an older queer. Even that expression didn't exist during my time (queer). It was black or white - gay or lesbian or heterosexual - which sexuality can never be).
Delighted to know that trans or non-binary (me) is actually a real thing now and not "just in my imagination"..
I hope you guys know the importance of what you have done. You are brilliant.

This was a great show. I enjoyed it. Kate's reaction to the art was cute. I used to be a facialist and yes sweets can cause breakouts and also of course, hormones or even dairy. I make my own ice cream with honey and I seem to be okay with that. You guys ought to look into taking up kayaking. A lot of fun. You can kayak on lakes and rivers. If you go to the lake in August, beware of the mosquitoes. Be sure to bring a good essential oil-based mosquito spray. Definitely a good idea to take advantage of this beautiful state we live in. We have it all. We are quite lucky.

On the topic of sugar, I feel like when you eat clean or more natural or organic, our bodies can become more sensitive to things. So it may just be processed sugars that cause Kate to flare up! If you stay away from those or have them in smaller amounts not too often, the flareups shouldn't be as bad :)

Yes I used to bring my own popcorn and drink and I would totally smuggle it in because I felt that if they saw me with it they would make me throw it away. I understood how Kate felt.

Sorry to break it to you guys, but unfortunately there is no swimming allowed in Lake Cachuma as it still serves as our reservoir. However boating is allowed on it. Definitely worth a visit 😉👍🏽

There's a movie theater a few towns away from me where it's dinner and a movie. (I haven't been myself.) I used to bring my own candy to the movie, till someone pointed out that's how the theater makes their money, then I felt guilty. i haven't been to a theater in like 2 or 3 years now though, there hasn't been anything I can't wait for streaming, or what I want to see isn't at any of the theaters here.
Wine always makes me feel like crap, I think I'm allergic to the sulfites. Red hurts me more than white though. Not that I really drink wine anymore. Either my taste buds have changed, or it's hard to find good affordable wine anymore.
Years ago, there was a theater that had candy dispensers behind the counter of all kinds of things, so you could mix and match to your hearts content. It's a school there now. It was a nice theater, so bummed!

I came out as gay at 18 and 10 years later I married a man. I’m in love with my husband and overjoyed to be married but I’m not sexually attracted to him. I identified as bisexual for a while but that just didn’t feel right. Even though I’m married to a man and happy about it is it okay to still identify as a lesbian or is there another sexual orientation that encompasses my situation?
