Can’t believe I’m here this early!! The L word made such an impact on my life. It definitely had its flaws… but we still don’t have much lesbian representation in media today. I watched it for the first time last year and it played a huge role in accepting the fact that I like women. I’m ashamed it took me so long, I went back and forth, tried to suppress everything. Many of us have had this painful experience, especially those of us who grew up in the south in Christian households. Getting to see a TV show filled with so many moments of intimacy and joy between women after a lifetime of being told it was shameful and wrong was so cathartic and really pushed me to finally get out there. At 25, I am done denying who I am. Thank you both, and the entire cast.
Thanks for sharing that. It's really something once you're older and come out /realise you're gay that it's like I felt I have to grieve the loss of so much time spent with males instead or not spent in a queer community even. But it's even more of a reason to celebrate too because you found your way to you and that in this world is noble and awesome af. 👏👏👏👏💜💜💜

It's so good to see Kate being so openly gay! At least for me, cause back then when I was a baby lesbian watching the L word I was always wondering if she was gay or not, and to have it confirmed" now is such a relief 😅. Cause I kept thinking "she gotta be gay, right? My gaydar is not broken, right???" And I couldn't find the information anywhere. I don't exactly know when she came out publicly but I only found out when Pants started and my teenage self was (and still is) sooooo hyped for finally having the answer. Anyway, happy Pride everyone!!!

I don’t want this to be a downer of a comment, but hear me out. I lost my mum a week ago today, we’ve been together my entire life, 44 years. She was my best friend. I keep trying to watch tv to get some normalcy, but everything feels so noisy and it’s hard for me to concentrate on much. This episode was the first thing I’ve watched that brought me comfort, made me laugh, made everything feel just a little bit normal again. So please don’t ever think you guys are being boring or the things you say aren’t important or interesting. Because you might just be that little life line on a dark day for many people out there. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being something a little familiar and calm.

Just wanted to say that as a trans boy in the 2000s The L Word formed my opinion on gay stuff, Max was the only representation we had and Kate's character was also kind of challenging gender norms. And I gotta say there hasn't been a show quite like that since then. Also Leisha and Kate in my opinion you were comedy gold on that show.

I really love this podcast. The L Word was a great part of my youth, I am a big fan of both of you. Nowadays I try to improve my English listening to you guys. Sometimes I need to listen more than once to get what you're saying, sometimes I can't understand everything or every single word, but I'm learning and having fun at the same time, a lot! ❤ I felt represented when Kate's wife said Massachusetts, because I'm from Brazil too. 😂❤

As a neurobioligist i want to say that kate is right. Ut is not only a sign of a healthy brain but also of intelligence to talk to yourself. Hi Pants! Oh I totally know what and who Kate is talking about. As a local of the Coachella Valley, and someone who goes to Palm Springs often, we see a lot of those ignorant signs/people. It’s crazy because literally the next store or street over there’s rainbows all over. As a QPOC, it sucks at times for us out here, but again the community does band together and has a lot of support. A friend of mine sent me a picture of those trumpers, and just wanted to let you know, a day after they set up, people started to block their hateful stands and show up for us 👏🏽💪🏽🌈👏🏽🫶🏽

I think that because we grow up in such a heterosexual society, it’s hard to pinpoint our own queerness. Like as women we are raised to be alert and conscious to the “male gaze”. I had “obsessions” with girls growing up and didn’t realize it was crushes until I was a senior in HS. Came out when I was 22.

hi amazing episode!, i do agree that every single human being is gay and perfect intimacy is gay hahah ..but heterosexuality is compulsory in this system so we all automatically think ourselves as that just because is expected ..then we realize that in life everything is diverse and fluid and so sexuality ...i hope in the near future all labels could be obsolete and imagine us as just humans living our lives in the most truly expansive way along with our desires and feelings ..because diversity is the natural thing ..cheers from argentina
