I went to a Cowboys game last year for the first time and I have been a fan for 40 years! I do need to watch the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show. My daughter hates the Cowboys but she loves that documentary!

It's a shame that (out and proud) gay cheerleaders can't exist. If she’s still dressing for the male gaze, would it matter to the male-dominated industry of sport that she’s gay? Or is it more important for men to maintain the illusion that these women are paraded out so they can choose who they want to have sex with? (male psychology, not mine, obv). Also, I could watch Banjo for hours.

I think the Dallas cowboys cheer organization is like a pyramid scam that women fall for year after year ..and the fact that amazing women get turned down but her daughter made it is also crazy 🙄

Fun fact abt the quick dog talk since I work in veterinary medicine - you guys are right! Dogs with longer backs and shorter legs like dachshunds are more likely to get to IVDD, and german shepherds are prone to hip dysplasia and also IVDD as well :(

Agree with NFL cheerleader pay disparity for ALL franchises. Then why do they do it?!?! What is the payoff? And your examples of who’s judging auditions/tryouts. Can’t you see it’s blatant female objectification? I don’t think it’s intended however calling them girls when they are grown women - coming from a liberally-minded woman who advocates for the marginalized and misfits feels off. So lots of problems with the objectification of NFL cheerleaders. And yet, so many still lineup to do it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Kate, I agree with the toxicity 100%.

Very very interesting conversation about the Dallas Cheerleaders. It's not in my culture, and I was very fascinated to watch Cheers, first season, back in the day. Then followed a few documentaries about the terrible terrible things of Dance Moms. The power struggle seems constant in the "competition" world. Yes for queer cheer!
