- Quick video review on the Sylvania Zevo LED bulbs. This is a test of the brake tail light bulbs. A hir dimmer than the regular bulbs, but quicker and more responsive to the brake pedal. Also the light is redder/richer in red color. amzn.to/2pTd3qy

AWESOME!!!
I've installed the ZEVOS on all the interior and exterior lighting of my Expedition with the exception of the Headlights and fog lights. FYI if you have a first gen swap out the EP27 Light relay to stop rapid flash. I think Sylvania did an incredible job manufacturing these ZEVOS They are built tough, super high quality, fit tight, give off the perfect amount of light, easy to be seen day and night. My only complaint is they currently don't make a H7 Headlight LED ZEVO kit. I'm waiting patiently!!!!
Those metal protrusions have nothing to do with reflecting light. You were correct to call them a heat sink. Heat is an enemy of LEDs so they need that to help keep cool.
Interesting, I like the split second difference!
I replaced all my bulbs 2018 Forte S with ZEVO inside, signals & backups and they worked the 5yrs I owned it. The zevo 921 reverse lights were super bright compared to stock halogen
5 years of owning zevo’s and they still works and still look like new?❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
The metal on top of the LEDs are only heatsink, not emitters. The lights shine to the reflectors and reflected out the back of your car, not the LEDs themselves.
Can you do a night time review with these lights from a close and far distance comparison please?
@BLu-TSX I have and own a 7443R sylvania zevo led bulbs for my 2015 lifted Scion xB. With my reflectors, they are couple hairs brighter than stock on day time. And love the more deeper and more vibrant red than before. At night. The intensity is a lot brighter and matches my third brake light.
I bought more sylvania zevo led bulbs for my family’s 2017 Toyota sienna le. From map lights, to license plate lights, to front and rear turn signals wirh led flasher relay, to vanity lights, to brake lights, reverse lights, and inner tail gate lights.
These are considered, set it and forgetted led bulbs. And they will be running with lasfit as well for four done lights and trunk light. Lasfit low beams and high beams. Full led conversion. So that way, they will run more efficiently than ever.
thank you for the video 👏🏼
thanks for the vid!
Not sure if it’s just your car (maybe the design of your reflector) but I installed these same bulbs in my Altima and they are significantly brighter than incandescent. These things light up stop signs clearly two blocks behind me. I love the instant on look as well.
Vikk 54: What year Altima do you have? I currently have the 2015 Altima and I was not sure if this will also illuminate the side-marker section of the tail lamp housing?
@tester123532456 well that driver shouldn't be driving close to you anyways :^)
@tester123532456 It definitely will get the attention of the driver though!
@tester123532456 I have to disagree. If regular brake lights do just fine there wouldn’t be a need for these LED bulbs. People are too distracted on their phones, how do you get the attention of the distracted driver/drivers behind you?
These Sylvanias are about 20% brighter There are lumen tests out there on them. That is not very significantly brighter. These at least do work ok with reverse lights. some of the no-name/continuous changing name LEDs out there have atrocious dispersal meaning they can claim 5x lumens and yet you cannot see as well with reverse as the old incandescent due o insane beam patter hotspots and glare created.
Still working well? I did Morimoto bulbs for my tails and going with Philips Ultinon xtreme for my rear turn signals. I’ve looked into these at the O’Reily’s next door but wasn’t sure of the quality.
When u see Amy aftermarket led product such as zevo, when u see that has the lifetime warranty. That’s the kind of quality u go for. They have a lot of good faith in zevo mini led bulbs.
I have a 1992 Seville STS and I'm looking to upgrade to LEDs as I blacked out my taillights. Did you need resisters on your Caddy?
If ur brake lights also use as turn signals, than u definitely need a resistor.
But instead doing the hassle of the resistors to splice the wires, just get the led flasher relay. And ur good.
Funny thing I just came from Walmart and I saw these and was wondering if they're any good..I think I'll get them after watching this
It’s worth the money. Dimmer than stock yes but that’s how they suppose to function. With red led and apply the brake, it’s a hair brighter than stock at day time, and at night time it’s couple hairs brighter than stock.
And it’s deeper and more vibrant red and with a nice instant on and instant off as well.
And a lifetime warranty. 😊
I was thinking about doing this since I have my drl led, but now I'll just wait until the rear lights go bad for the led replacement.
Good idea. I did the same... refused to upgrade for no reason, but the brake finally went out this weekend.
Hello friend, greetings from mexico. One question worth removing the muffler? Doesn't it sound very annoying?
Beto Ortiz no here in the US, people like their cars loud. Check out some of my videos haha
It only depends. If ur gettin muffler delete, it can sound descent. If u want a nice exhaust tone. Get a 2.25” catback exhaust for better deep tone exhaust note.
Are these brighter than incandescent bulbs when they're just used as side markers?
On side markers such as T10 zevo. They are a hair brighter. But they mimic the incandescent bulb well.
For the 7443 red. They are couple hairs brighter than stock.
considering LEDs illuminate in 1ms as opposed to 200ms translate to 18' at 60mph earlier reaction time.
New York - that’s one of the dumbest things I have ever heard and you clearly don’t understand reaction time or what that term means.
@@mrsmith8436 So, you are saying that knowing sooner that they are stopping has NO Benefit? Your comment shows you don't understand.
@@mrsmith8436 New York was right. You are completely wrong. Go back to driving school and take a Physics 101 class.
@@mrsmith8436 If people behind you can see your lights come on sooner, they can apply their brakes sooner and not rear end you. That's what OP was trying to say.
@@mrsmith8436 @ Mr Smith what are you tallking about?? "New York" was 100% correct. 1/20th faster brake light means the car behind you, if slowing or stopping based on your brake lights (which is common), will stop about 20' sooner. These bulbs make you and the occupants of the car behind you SAFER. Even if there is a collison it will be at lower relative speed
Lifetime warranty ! 😎
And that’s the beauty of owning zevo led bulbs ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I replaced my front turn signals with these. My truck is now halogen-free 😃
Have you experienced any flickering
U might as well get urself an led flasher relay, to delete the hyperflash.
Also forgot to ask if these give you an error code or anything on the dash
Its very car specific depends whether your car even has the CANBUS system and if so just how strict the system is.
Did you need to add resistors?
Marcelo Rodriguez thanks for the reply, luckily I didn’t need any, they work great!
Can we insert/fit Sylvania Zevo T20 Led Bulb inside the T10 female socket ?
No. You need a T10 bulb.
T10 and T15 are different size bulb, but they share the same connector or base.
Nice seeing the difference in response times. As for the colour selection of the bulb, this will depend on your headlamp/tail lamp combination housing. If the glass/plastic lens of your brake lamp is clear, then yes you'll need a red bulb version. Same with using an amber bulb if the turn signal lens is clear. With lamp units with red/orange lense material, you'll usually need white bulbs. A red bulb behind a red lens will appear less intense. I speak subject to correction as I note some makes specify a colored bulb even with a colored lens so best to check your manual bulb chart.
I know my response is a year later but the part about putting white LEDs behind colored lenses isn't necessarily correct. Best practice is to use the same LED color as the lens, as the lens filters down to the correct color and white LEDs are usually just blue LEDs with a phosphorous coating to filter to white. This means you would be going blue -> white -> red in a red housing with a lumen loss at each step, compared to just outputting red at full rated lumen in the first place.
@@maybeitruns yes you're correct and I saw this in practice afterwards where white just diluted the effect whereas using the same coloured bulb as the lens gave the correct colour and a dramatic improvement in brightness/actual colour.
@@maybeitruns wow. Thanks I didn’t know that. But it is so eye opening. 😊
@@maybeitruns Correct. A red LED behind a red lens will always be more efficient than a white LED behind a red lens.
Not to mention, generally a white LED produces a very cold light with a lot of blue... Leading to a somewhat muted orange or even pink looking light emitted.
Colored LED's tend to be monochromatic, so there is no fear of color change coming through a lens.
(to the extreme that, for example, a red LED behind even a green or blue lens will still produce a perflectly red light (albeit much dimmer))
A rear red led bulb behind the red lens will appear more intensity. Not less.
I just put these on my f150. It’s almost too freakin bright
Nah brake lights can never be too bright.
It’s should be couple hairs brighter than stock. It’s more usable so that’s what u want.
@@gravemind6536but it depends on which led red bulb is. Like lasfit. With 700 lumens of red led behind the red lens, it’s an ultra bright red light.
@@gravemind6536so never say never.
slightly not as bright = slightly more dim. Or you could maybe get away with saying it's dimmer. lol. Also, reflectors don't emit light, they......reflect it.
That’s how it’s supposed to function. They make 0.4W. Which is dimmer than stock. And 1.5W which same brightness if not a hair more than incandescent bulbs, but the intensity is usable light output is defined there.
I wish they made them in 4000k. I prefer that color over 6000k.
eBay has them for the cheapest price than anywhere else
But it’s more locally to get it in one day
SILL-VANE-KNEE-YAA
LMAO
The wings are not reflecting anything there for heat transmission and the LEDs both face backwards so they reflect back to the reflective surface of your light housing. And Sylvania is not pronounced Sylva.
It’s not heat transmission.
It’s called heat dissipation or heatsink
Probably don't want to touch the led chips as much as this guy
With the zevo. You’ll be fine.
But I agree. Don’t want a little bit of a grease on the led and chips on it.
Beware of counterfeit ones sold on Amazon. Buy these from a brick & mortar store like O'Reillys, Walmart, etc.
Or a trusted brand like Philips or Osram.
@@gravemind6536Osram/sylvania is the same company.
@@gravemind6536Osram and sylvania are the same company.
Put white LEDs in lenses with color and color bulbs in clear lenses ..... It will be brighter than the stock bulb👌
You would think, right? But NOT TRUE!! With LED's you have to use the lens color. So, tail lights should use red LED's for brake and parking lights. Go to the "Finding the best LED tail light bulbs! 1157 LED tail light bulbs Sylvania" video by Poor Man Mods for proof.
If you prefer function over looks, then yes, they are brighter. However, the issue is that white LEDs in red housings make a 'pink' color so it would be preferred to keep a same-color LED to keep consistency.
@@SitriUvali thanks, need my lights red not pink
Wrong. Putting red led bulb behind the red lens creates a more usable light than putting white led behind the red lens, and it makes it look orange. Not a good look.
FYI. front turn signals can be white or amber but rear turn signals can only be amber. PEACE!
That may only be true for passenger cars. Trucks and many SUVs have red turn signals in back.
No, the front running lights can be Amber or white, but the blinkers have to be Amber.
Red or Amber is fine on the rear of any NA vehicle.
WRONG Shaun. Yoiu have it backwards. Front turn signals in the US are never white. Running lights can be white in front, but not turn/indicator lights. In terms of rear about 70% of cars on US roads have RED rear turn signals
White and Amber for the front, and amber and red in the rear. Even if u don’t have a red lens, if u have oem Amber turn signal bulbs. U can change them to red led turn signals.
@@teo2975never say never. We seen lots of drivers, putting led white light in front of the vehicle is popular. We see them every once in a while.
I still go for Amber but yeah.
Nice vid..however I error dont install the Red lights unless your tail light is clear.. The White light reflects better with red..vs Red ON red... Try it..and it will be brighter....
So glad I saw your comment. Just installed these same lights but white light into a red bulb so I was like oh crap, did I get the wrong color? Wheww!
You have it exactly backwards Jerry. If you instal red lights in clear lens you are going ot have red reverse lights! LEDs to replace brake lights and red tail lights need to be RED otherwise the light will come out pink. Same with amber. Of the lens is amber replace with amber LED.
White led bulb maybe brighter than red. But it’s not gonna be usable behind the red lens. Putting a red led bulb behind the red lens are alot more usable than using a white led.
Even if white is brighter than red, the red is more usable.
Putting white behind the red lens will become orange. Which it’s not a good look.
the stock is brighter
Wrong. At day time it’s the same just couple hairs brighter than stock. At night time, the intensity is a lot better. It only and mostly depends on ur tail light reflector style. On my 2015 Scion lifted xB, it’s very noticeable day and night.
With red led bulb from zevo, it’s a lot more usable light than incandescent bulb.
I don’t see a shit of difference 😂
Not on video. U have to see them for urself. They might not be huge difference, but they are better than stock. Instant on and instant off. At night it’d couple hairs brighter than stock.
I own one for my 2015 lifted Scion xB with a 7443 red. They are more noticeable day and night difference. Again. Not insane bright, but better than stock.
They are garbage bought one for dome a little brighter but not much waste of money
Your dome is probably dirty.
I had the same issue. Bought the super bright for my dome light and it was dimmer than the incandescent. Dome wasn’t dirty. Took it back and got the standard zevo led and it was a thousand times brighter.
Standard?
@@TraumaER An LED in a dirty dome will still be brighter than an incandesent or halogen in a clean dome unless that LED is garbage. Honestly the LED interior lights I fitted in my car are easily 5x brighter than the halogens that were standard. In fact they would probably be 6 or 7x brighter than an incandesent bulb.
Morimoto festoon dome lights are so bright compared to zevo. It was so good, that I have it on 2 of my cars for the dome & inside the trunk.
