  • Here's Why THESE ARE THE VERY BEST AUTOMOTIVE LEDs YOU CAN BUY!!
This Is THE MOST EXPENSIVE LED YOU CAN BUY!!!
In this video I show the differences between cheap and expensive automotive LEDs. I also show why I think the expensive version is the best! While I do own and have installed a bunch of cheap LEDs, I have learned that you really do get what you pay for. I've had good luck with some, terrible luck with others, but in the daytime running light (DRL) location I just couldn't skimp out. The DRLs are a bulb that runs constantly while driving during the day and therefore I needed an LED that could handle heat. This Sylvania ZEVO 3157 has a giant heat-sink which is just what I needed.

I bought an older version of the 3157 LED bulbs from Sylvania and ran into issues having both a blinker function and a daytime running light function. I called up Sylvania and got a friendly person on the phone who told me the issue had been resolved in their newer version (like the ones you have in your video) and the woman sent me some new ones for free. Incredible customer service and quality

I know this was 3 years ago. But how are ur new sylvania zevo led bulbs? Compare between 2 sides shooting backwards than the 6 led shooting forward? Was their any brightness difference of the zevo led bulbs?

@@ryanlevihead1419 hell yeah. They are super bright even though they claim it is. It’s the brightest of the least bright led bulbs.
When u look at the amber led light output, doesn’t look awesome just by lookin at it?
It’s sharp and it looks oem plus.
Very unique and a beautiful amber color.
And how’s the brightness difference between ur incandescent bulbs and the new Zevo bulbs?

I bought these lights as well. Sylvania Zevo are quite literally are the best tail light, turn signal, and interior lighting option you can buy. Yes they are expensive but they last forever. They never have any issues or failures. The quality on the bulbs is top notch. Heat dissipation is something Sylvania really focussed on. And Sylvania uses the best LED diodes. They hand to pick them to be the best quality for quality control. 👌👌

@@sean.g4516 not sure, sold that truck a few months ago. The bulb "next to" that would be for turn signals, it may work there also but only if you have orange lenses. I had smoked out lenses and had to find orange LEDs for those sockets. If the stock bulbs for both DRL and turn signals are the same then it's plausible, yes. Another thing to consider is the smaller bulbs on the sides of the turn signal lamps.

@@sean.g4516 I have had these Zevos in my DRLs for about 3 years with no problems. I also have had them in my rear brake and turn signals for a year now also with no problems. So the front turn signal should be the same.

I had the 3157 ZEVO but I found the 3157 Sylvania Silverstar was considerably brighter. The problem with many LEDs are they do not dissipate the light patterns correctly. The reflector lens in the light housing is designed with the light reflecting off with light being output at the correct angle. Many of the brightest LEDs can wash out quickly and actually put out less light than a mid of the line incandescent if it does not reflect the light off the back of the housing correctly.

Good informational video and your thoughts are 100% on the money. Do it right the first time. I've been using Sylvania ZEVO's in my BMW's and other cars for the past 6 years (both interior an exterior bulbs) and have yet to have one burn out. Best LED bulbs out there, IMHO. Aside from the lower power consumption and lower heat output, they also provide better light than the incandescent bulbs they replaced. The ZEVO's seem to fill the reflectors more fully with light, and they are instant on instead of the light ever so slightly ramping up like an incandescent bulb. Makes a noticeable improvement on bulbs like the brake and turn signals. They ARE more expensive than everything else, but are 100% worth it.

Heard some people had to install some type of resistors to fix these types of issues.

Ayyy nice content, I might get those for my 2000 suburban! My only concern is that they won't produce enough heat in snow conditions...I know a lot of Jeeps have that problem when you switch to LEDs and then your headlights get frozen over while you're driving

I put these in rear tails of 05 accord, and they were dimmer than the stock halogens. Had ibrightstars over 4 yrs now. Fill housing nicely.

I have something like these but as a 7443R led bulb from sylvania zevo.
These work very well for my 2015 lifted Scion xB. And it maybe slight dimmer of the parking light function than my incandescent bulbs. But that’s how they are design for. And the brightness function were very bright and sharp.
The brightness and the beam pattern it makes I was in love with these zevo led bulbs. It works well for my brake lights. Not much for my turn signals ambers of the 7440. They are oem plus. Same brightness maybe a hair simmer. But my particular application is different, my reflector housing did not filled up with my brightness. So it needs ultra bright 360 type led amber lights. So I use auxito with 24 watts built in resistor led bulbs. And they are stupid bright. And I love it. It creates a beautiful amber parallel beam pattern from left to right. Gives other drivers much more effective to give them a heads up.

Been using zevo led bulbs since they first hit market and before the lifetime warranty. Have a set that I still use daily that's over 8 years old (I think)

I would rather have an over engineered product than a piece of junk. Love your thinking near the end of the video about buying the best that you can afford and expecting it to last.

I went Zevo crazy on my car, 2011 Crown Vic, the interior feels like a much newer car simply from the different light temperature and the fact that they are are MUCH brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. As for the turn signals and brake lights, the improvement is very noticeable. Take this with a grain of salt as results may vary based on the lens and reflector of the housing you're replacing the bulb for. Overall, these are worth the cost and considering their warranty, I haven't found better. Only warning is to make sure you can locate your factory turn signal relay so you can either replace it or bypass it with an LED compliant flasher module. If your electrical system had all incandescent to start with, it is expecting the resistance of incandescent bulbs. Switching to all LEDs will trigger the hyper flash of your turn signals which normally signals a burnt out bulb. This may vary but will most likely be the case.

No video on LED Headlights? I thought that would be a great review like this one on the parking lights and you did show you have them in the Suburban. I have some JDM Astar which have been great.

I put Sylvania ZEVO bulbs in my DRLs 2 years ago, and they're still alive today. I tell anyone with the 1999-2007 GM trucks to put the ZEVOs in their DRLs. They last longer and don't overheat the sockets and lenses.

Yessir buy once cry once. I purchased enough led bulbs to replace all the exterior and interior dome, courtesy and door lights in my c1500 about 10 years ago when you only had one choice at the local parts stores. Within a year all LEDs had been swapped back to incandescent due to various failure modes. Needless to say I got burned. I've been seriously considering these zevo bulbs tho. Thanks for the great demo and review Jimmy!

With LEDs it’s all a gamble. I seriously think these Sylvania Zevo are the best of the beat right now! Expensive but the best.

@@1RoadGarage just curious if they're still working well for you? I spent $$$ after doing some research on a full set, all 4 led headlight bulbs for my 01 Silverado and would also like to swap my DRL bulbs to zevo's 4114 if yours are holding up well.
