What made me subscribe was the fact that you took into consideration tools people would have on hand. That is the type of DIY content I wish to see. Lol. It’s beautiful!
Thanks for noticing that! Part of what got me started with this channel was, when I looked up how to repair things, they always used expensive tools that really only had one use.
Nice job. The best way to make a greener world is to fix and reuse items rather than add them to a dump or landfill. And vintage metal furniture like this is cool!
I just found 4 really nice patio rocking chairs and went to yt to find a video on how to restore them. They have some rust but your video is helpful especially the idea to add some drainage holes. I had nasty water come out as i carried them from the trash.
**AWW.....I WAS SOO WISHING YOU WERE GOING TO MAKE THAT TABLE A SUNFLOWER 🌻....... It's Table Top Shape instantly reminded me of a Sunflower!!..... 🌻❤ But My Thoughts Aside, ~YOU STILL DID A GREAT JOB EXPLAINING DETAILS AND TOOLS OF UR STEPS WHICH CREATED A BEAUTIFUL MORNING COFFEE ESCAPE STATION!! ☕ ❤
Thank you for your video. It was very helpful. In the end I decided to hand-paint my own set because there was very little surface area. But all of your suggestions about preparation, including sanding and the wire brush, were useful.
This set came out great. I love the red! I'm getting ready to tackle our metal table and chairs today. I don't plan on getting as crazy about the rust as you did but I did power wash it and lightly sand. Wish me luck.
That table would have been a nice hummingbird bird bath. Put in a small fountain in the center of the table and allow it to recycle the water. Nice find!
I have a similar set in my back yard, but my butt is too big to be comfy it the teeny chairs. lol The holes in the table top were genius! Love the video!
Good vid! I had forgotten about naval jelly, so I'll look into that for a metal restore project I'm considering! I just want to get the rust down enough to hit it with some Rustoleum, so that might be my answer! Thanks!!!
the wire wheel driven by air grinder tool can be dangerous as the so called grinder tool spines so fast it flings the wires off the brush witch can b imbedded into your eye, safety glasses are a MUST and need to worn when performing any clean up of rust or using any hazardous products.
Awesome job ! Somebody give me a two metal chairs and a bench it has a oval design on the backrest, now I’m looking for some ideas to restore all the set 🤔 , any ideas someone?
Sand blaster takes good material out. A good chemical treatment for rust is phosphoric acid. It converts rust into something more stable black in colour. Then, you can wire wheel it and clean with paint thinner. After that, primer, sanding, paint and you are good to go.
Get a metal buffer wire brush thing for thre end of your electric drill. Much faster. And ortho to neutralize the rust (it changes it chemically so it won’t come back7

I'm assuming you're in the US? In the uk, we have an organisation called "Freecycle". It's fantastic, and it's been up and running for years. You advertise what you want to give away, then just wait for a notification from someone who is interested in owning that item! You then just arrange a date and time for them to come and collect it! No money is exchanged at all. I've given away things such as a hedgehog box and bird feeders....a teacher from a local primary school came and collected them, as their school was making a Wildlife Garden. Over the years, from other people, I've been given 3 small Box shrubs, a hand held vacuum cleaner, a double bed, and an old glass topped table for the garden! I wish I could renovate the table, but I'm disabled with illness/pain, so it's extremely rusty, but it's still going strong 17 years later! With the wee vacuum cleaner and the shrubs, I told the people that I really couldn't say how long it might take me to go and collect it, as I'm very ill.....and they both kindly drove them over to me! Really nice community of people. I would encourage you to do some research online, as I'm sure such schemes exist in the US. It's particularly good for people without much money, who are trying to set up home.
I've got a bus I'm rebuilding, have a lot of rust on the floor and have to remove all of it since it's the foundation to my whole tiny home that will be built on it. It's super important to have a strong floor and this video has been so helpful for what I'll now do to restore the metal. Thank you so much !
No shame in dumpster diving but rubbing your navel jelly on it.....ummm.....hmmmm....uh-huh lol Seriously though that table would be awesome for a kids lemonade stand lol
She didn't even like the beautiful old set, that's why it is now inappropriately red! The set was a treasure, it should be repainted black. But, she did a great job with the prep.
You should've let a man do that for you. It would've gotten done faster and correctly. But hey, little lady has a UA-cam channel to help all those old stay at home moms feel useful.
Thank you so much for posting a comment! Every little interaction makes this Stay-at-home mom's UA-cam channel stronger and more profitable. You're so kind to have spent your time watching!
“Correctly” is rarely “faster”, Bob (just ask your ex-wife). Now, go back to your La-Z-boy with the cushion dented perfectly for your butt, crack open your Miller lite and pop a video in your VCR. Leave the internet to those of us who have actually left the 20th century. Oh and BTW, we all know you found her video while searching how to’s because you needed help… Hope you learned something but I sincerely doubt it.

You did a beautiful job thanks for the video
Great step-by-step tutorial. Also, you didn't skip over anything like some other UA-cam DIYers demonstrated. The end result was very nice.
Not only did you pick a beautiful color but you did it yourself without expensive equipment. The drainage holes are an excellent idea. Great job!!!
Nice job. The best way to make a greener world is to fix and reuse items rather than add them to a dump or landfill. And vintage metal furniture like this is cool!
Randomly searched rusted garden furniture and came across yours. I’m impressed 😉

Best rust restoration video I've seen. Looks amazing. ❤
Good Job. I love repairing metal fixtures and making them look beautiful. Thank you for all your advise.
Thank you, and thanks for watching! This piece still looks good a couple of years later
Beautiful🥰And great tutorial 🙌 So informative, but short and right to the point. Great job!!!

This was so satisfying to watch! Good job 👌🏾!!
beautifully done. going to do this with metal pots I took from a neighbor Thanks you
Nice job! That was very helpful. I have vintage iron chairs I want to finish.
Rock out with your caulk out! Lol
Great job with the table and chairs, looks great.

Great job! It’s all in the prepping !!!

Oh they're definitely not great chairs for sitting in long-term, but the set is cute.
@@annesmith6582 My butt is shrinking daily but even at it's ideal size my chairs will be uncomfortable. They are tiny.

Thank you for the tip!
i wonder have had that in my trunk day 1. Good Job
Navel jelly. Never heard of it. You did an awesome job on this.
I hadn't either until recently, through ChickFix DIY Group on FAcebook!
Getting ready to refinish an 80s era oak pedestal dining table for my youngest son's first apt... Wanna come drink wine, coffee, and help paint? lol
Sounds like an awesome plan!
Love that set!
You never disappoint!
Glad to hear it!

So pretty, great job!
You did a lovely job.
What grit of sandpaper would you recommend?
How many cans of spray paint and primer did you use? 😊
Gorgeous!
Thanks for excellent work and ideas
What kind of sand should I buy?
So, washing the jelly down the drain, what happens to the environment?
Awesome work!
How many spray cans did it take to do this project? I’m looking to do the same thing this weekend!
It's been a while, but it was probably 3 or 4
how many cans of paint did you need ?
Is the pressure washer necessary?
why did you decide not to use ospho

Do you have a preferred brand for spray paint?
What is navel jelly?
Nice video. They make a rust converter that will chemically react with the rust and turn it black. It’s called rustzilla. Pretty cool video
It almost looks like a birdbath the way it's shaped
Have you ever tried vinegar on outdoor furniture?
Vinager??
Good job!
Great work well done

Don't need any top coat to make sure it last a long time? Especially to not get onto someone's pants? lol.
NICE JOB!
You have inspired me miss. I just have one question. Could a person use the rust converter instead of that nasty navel jelly?
Thank You, Great Job !!
Wow. - Great job, sistah !!
Well done
Great video on restoring but that red is just too bright! Would have looked so much better in a pastel shade.
love it real recycling, wish people would put an ad to reduce tradh in world

Nice and simple process! Great find. Thanks for sharing!

Ah... I see you have the wire brush but I would have used tHat FIRST
Beautiful
or you could of used a wire wheel on the drill in your hand.

I actually considered that exact thing! But I decided that the red would make a better "pop" against the other colors of my house
