I just watched this after 10 years and I just cried and cried with laughter, the facial expressions, the timing, the writing, the reactions, it's just beyond perfect
@@TwoAwesomeKids34 Not sure if you mean that or not but anyway, the "....have to think twice" line alludes to Rodney's love interest maybe even being too old for Granddad being that she is 40, although he is not exactly in the prime of life himself.
Especially given it wasn't even in the script! Lennard Pearce just came out with it and everyone cracked up so badly that they had to stop filming for a bit. The very next bit when you see Del and Grandad creasing themselves is totally genuine - that is actually David Jason losing it.
+MrGremlin. This series also took its lead from the Will Hay films, with Moffatt and Marriott playing the young and old. If you've seen the films 'Oh, Mr. Porter!', 'Ask a Policeman', 'Where's That Fire?' etc., you'll see how it's the same kind of mix.
The facial expressions defo take the spotlight here. Like when Rodney says, “There's people 'ere”, Del and Grandad's faces are hilarious. When Rodney jokes about talking to Mickey Pearce, Del's face is priceless, and when Rodney says Irene is 40, is the cherry on top. 😂😂😂 Such talented actors.
In my opinion they have never miscast anyone in fools and horses, When the great Leonard Fenton died, they cast Buster Merryfield and he fitted in really well as their uncle. When they decided to introduce love interests for Del and Rodney the brought in Tessa and Gwyneth and again they fitted right in, It really was one of those shows that just clicked with everything they did.
It's funny you should say that because David Jason (White) was 3rd choice for Del boy. Even when he was picked some people weren't happy about it, because he wasn't really wanted. And look how well he done! It's the guys most memorable character.
Liam Berry You're right, John Sullivan actually wanted the actor who went on to play Slater, it was one of the producers Ray Butts I think who saw a re-run of Open All Hours and convinced John that David was right for the part. Some how I couldn't see Jim Broadbent as Del Boy. It's funny you should mention about David not wanted by those upstairs when he was eventually picked maybe because he wasn't the luvvy type of actor.
+Jake Qwertzz You will never ever get another Comedy sitcom like this again. Mrs Browns boys and Not Going out are good, but IMO they will never beat OFAH.
I'm American and lived in England for a while. In America, the only classic brit television is Monty Python, Benny Hill, and whatever subpar Brit program from the 70's our local PBS airs. However, no one knows about this show. Best classic of them all.
Our entire family love this drama. Evergreen drama. We can’t help but fall in love with Del Boy and Rodney (Dave ) and Trigger all over again. Laughter echoes in the house. It’s one of those dramas you never get bored with. May God Bless you all. Forget Covid, stay at home and watch Only Fools and Horses. They don’t make comedies like this anymore.

Del: Forty she's even to old for me . Grandad: i would have to think twice . Lol pure magic The actors and writers may be passing away but this program will live forever true british comedy
The story, the cast, location, typical English vibe & brilliant writing to tie it all in makes Only Fools And Horses just perfect television.. Bonjior.
Dels face when he says Mickey Pearce. Also Del when he says " i shall be up all night with heartburn. Del laughing when Rodney says " i think i am in love. Three of the funniest moments in this clip.
My favourite only fools and horses scene only because every character in it makes me belly laugh. If only trigger could have squeezed in this scene too.

Somewhat agree, though it would have been a shame to end on Rodney and Cassandra having a miscarriage. It was nice closure to finally give them a baby.
Just hired this series and series 7 out from my local library. I got several other DVD's but I have been watching these over and over - its just that good. So well written, production is superb and the acting is faultless. Such a brilliant series, I have to get hold of the rest of it!
PositiveSpirit ha ha good point though I should have said I got it from my local library where they're free. In saying that, I think I may just buy the whole lot as I enjoyed it so much and it does good re-watch value
