Today i made a pullup bar, this diy free standing pull up bar or chin up bar that is easy to build and can go anywhere it will fit around your house. This homemade pull up bar is a easy thing to build to keep you strong, some people call it a pull up station i call it a gain station.

    Made this today! Wobbles a bit as I used 2.4m posts, I think ideally you would attach the top to something to properly stabilise it, but seems pretty strong.

    Did you consider drilling through the posts to have a longer bar go beyond the frame? It obviously looks more than capable of bearing your weight but I would think pole through the post would put more of the load on the posts vs the screws?

    Absolutely beautiful. I'm wondering if the structure could also double as a rack to do incline presses? It would require a couple of pegs in the front of your two primary beams. Thanks for posting!

      I am actually going to to modify it to also to be used for squats and bench press by adding a beam up both the posts from the ground with slots cut out to hold the bar i will be making a video about it in a couple of weeks👍

    this is a bit off topic but i already bought a pullup bar that loooks similar to that. Unfortunately i want a pullup bar where i have to jump to grab the bar and start doing pullup. The pullup bar is too short so i just hate bending my knees to do pullups. What can i do to increase the base height?

    Great construction mate! I was thinking to build something like this at home. Is the pullup bar strong enough to do muscle ups? And also for ring exercises? Cheers mate

      If you bolt it down it should be good for muscle ups. But since i can do them i can test that out for you.😂

      The measurements in Australia where i am from are in millimeters. The text on the video are in inches. I hope that helps. Where are you from?

      at the place that i bought the pipe from (bunnings) they had elbows that are 90 deg angle that attach to the straight pipe.

    My pull up bar seems to move back and forth alot, like the shoes on thd bottom are not level on the floor, any tip to stop the moving

      You can pack the high points with anything really. My garage was quite level but it still moved a little so i just got some cardboard i had around and squashed it under the high points. Depending on how much maybe cut in some wedges.

      A lot. The posts can hold up beams and roofs, and if you use those same screws or similar it will hold a massive amount. If you are concerned i would upgrade the threaded bar to the next size up.
