I like that this is portable and not dug into the ground or drilled into the floor or ceiling like so many. I'll be building a modified version of this with a dip station also.

Thanks for the video, I made mine 8'3" off the ground by not cutting the third beam at all. At 6'5" it works great. I also made it with a 48" pipe which allows for wide grip and some Olympic rings as well. Thanks for the clear instructions and links in the description.

@Alex Yorca nope! It's been working great as is. Definitely recommend widening the bar length to fit your needs, especially with rings. No extra material needed except for a wider bar. I fit my rings and my workout straps on it easy, plenty of room.

Just built this today - for anyone interested, total cost right now is about 130 for the lumber, screws, and pipe at Home Depot - bit of an increase with lumber prices. Took about 2 hours total. Loving it so far and hoping to get 2 years-plus of use before I have to move again.

You use ceramic screws, stainless steel screws with A4 grade are much better for outdoor use as they don't rust and have a self repairing organic coating on them which withstand the lynolacid in your wood and the acidity in rain. They're very strong as they can't break unlike zinc screws or cheaper stainless steel screws like A2 grade. Also i would use a liquid seal coating for your wooden beams as they are prone to rot over time

I would countersink a large lag screw with a washer from bottom if going taller or heavy weight (personally would use them for bar as well). Pressure treated wood if leaving outside. A yearly water seal and a power wash will keep it clean

    • @T3m0ur
