I am confident he will. It's very bad timing as the team needed him to step up with Duclair and Barzal out. I hope he breaks out soon. Thanks for the comment, heidiaunins7306. LGI
I'm confident he will snap out of it. He will need a big hot streak to reach 30 goals this year, but he'll heat up at some point. Thanks for the comment Cory. Have a great Thanksgiving. LGI
Struggling to score goals. One of the main issues has been the power play, which has been underperforming. I agree with you Gil, Horvat has to step up and score some goals his output is very disappointing this season. LGI
I'm a big Horvat fan, but this is a very untimely slump. Leadership involves stepping up when you're needed most. Hope he breaks out of this one soon. Thanks for the comment, Darrell. Happy Thanksgiving and LGI.
We desperately need Eiserman to develop into a superstar player. This team lacks star power, that may be added pressure for the kid, but that's what this franchise needs. Great take Gil, as always. Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving Ian. Eiserman being a superstar would be great. He's still at least another full season away from even playing in the NHL, so it will take time. Can't wait to see what he can do. Thanks for the comment and LGI
Gm Gil. Horvat is now playing to the level of his teammates which is poor. While it would be easy to suggest trading him I would argue my hope is he'll outlast Lou L and get coached up. The line up as is could be capable of finishing in the 5 or 6 seed. The Isles have no other choice but to play Horvat on the 1st line and await his emergence.
Agreed, Eric. You have to keep playing Bo. It will be interesting to see how the line combinations shake out when everybody returns to full health. I wouldn't trade Bo (and he has a NTC) but I hope he snaps out of this slump soon. Thanks for the comment and have a great Thanksgiving. LGI
Hi Gil, Happy early Thanksgiving! He’s an excellent player and he will be fine. He’s not a superstar but he can carry us for a little while, if he gets hot-I hope the record does not scratch tonight. Enjoy the family tomorrow Gil. I’ll never forget on the Eve of Thanksgiving when we acquired Bomber and Hubie, it was a major snowstorm and we played the Hawks and Mick did a number on Secord. Never forget that day--Take care Gil!!
Bo Horvat needs to snap out of it. I understand he misses Barzy and the Duke, but that doesn't mean he can't clean up until they get back. Anders Lee's playing the best 🏒 of his career, stepped up, and JG Pageout. Horvat is hurting offensively. He's getting his shots, but they're not going in. Patrick Roy's saying he likes the way they're playing, but sooner or later, they're going to go in the net. Life in Bridgeport they 🚬 in Wilkes-Barre Scranton. They played Charlotte at 🏡, and lost in a SO. Finally, they the Rangers affiliate 4-1. The Islanders are playing the Bruins at UBS Arena tonight. Even though they have 10 wins, they're not that great they canned their coach. The Bruins haven't been this since the 60's, when the Celtics were winning NBA titles left and right, and the Bruins were big and bad, meaning terrible, despite getting all the press, despite having Bobby Orr, and Phil Esposito. If they're smart, they won't give the Bruins any kind of satisfaction. HAPPY 🎂, DARCY REIGER. He got a goal and was a plus 1. Hear from you later, Gil, but once again, before I go, I 👀 an old article on the NY Times site map. On 12/30/1975, our Islanders 🚬 the Flyers at the Coliseum 6-2. Dave Schultz got a double minor, and I think Bobby Clarke got a minor, too, and Bill Barber said something that worked the referee's last nerve, and it cost him the rest of 🌙 off if you know what I mean. Afterwards, Clarke said that the Islanders have their number, and he's right, because it would be at least 3 maybe 4 years before the Flyers would get a win at the Coliseum not a tie, but a win. Now, LET'S GO, ISLANDERS. Also, I forgot to mention that Bob Nystrom got a hat trick that night.
I hope Bo snaps out of it soon. I think he will. The slump is bad timing because they need him to step up when Duke and Barzy are hurt. I love the memory, I'll check out the article. Those Flyers-Isles games are classics. Nystrom with the hat trick is awesome. Thanks for the comment Cindy. Have a great Thanksgiving and LGI.
I agree Bo will break out of his slump. This is bad timing since the team needs him more now with all of the injuries. Thanks for the comment, alexyaybar. Have a great Thanksgiving and LGI.
Isles forwards lack speed, creativity, and explosiveness and is a mish mash of average older forwards asked to score at their capabilities plus some. So is 14 missing 13, trying to do too much with lack of scoring, or was last season his peak and is declining staring at 30? Outside of 44 and 27's surge with more top line duty and 21 playing for contract these isle top 6 fwds. aren't difference makers. To expect 14, 21, 29, 27, and 44 to all produce big numbers even with 13 and 11 out is asking too much. 29, 33, 33, 34, 32 is their age. 14 wont hit 30 g or 70+ pts for first time in 3 seasons. Who knows when the rest of this aging forward group will hit a wall even with more top 6 play with injuries? That's the risk louzer takes bringing back the same old aging roster every season. All their numbers are down with 21 playing for contract with 29. Isles had 3 30 g scorers last season. Doubtful they get a 30 g scorer this season. gf is 27th, down from last season. And after checking stats pp is now dead last 32nd so pp went from average to awful in one season. So these so called top sixers aren't scoring on pp as well. One reason gf and pp is down as is 8's production. Can't say its because 13 is out of line-up because 13 can't take over and make this team better and isles don't fall off a cliff with 13 out. And 11 is a complimentary scorer who can't stay healthy. Only hope is that 7 still learning nhl game puts up big second half numbers. Nothing seems to be getting any better for isles. pk still 31st which is strange because isles take the fewest penalties per game in nhl so its not like pk is taxed. This team is slowly declining something most can see except a senile louzer. I don't see isles as a playoff team this season. Too many better and improved teams in east to compete against and some who can make tdl moves louzer can't make. Just hope if this team tailspins its early in second half so with fading playoff chance louzer doesn't deal that first away-again. And ahl b'port report is always depressing. Another w one l one team just like isles middilng around in nowhereland just like isles. Dufour and maggio aren't scoring. No help whatsoever at b'port. At least eisermann is scoring at bu. Watch louzer trade eisermann his best trade chip/prospect away for a soon to be 30 rental.
It will be a big challenge to make the playoffs this season. Lou keeps bringing back the same aging core that hasn't won a playoff series in 3 years and counting. The Bridgeport situation is tough. They went 1-1-1 this past weekend and that was a big improvement. Dufour and Maggio aren't producing. If they aren't scoring in the AHL, they can't be expected to do better at the NHL level. Yes, Eiserman gives hope. He will likely spend at least one more year in college though or in the AHL, so pencil him in to be an Islander by 2026-17. Thanks for hte comment, Steven. Have a great Thanksgiving and LGI.
Perhaps swap Bo and Brock... And as I said yesterday, bring up Karlstrom and Pinho until Duke and Barzy come back. Just look at Dennis Cholowski and Isaiah George... Bringing them up was a good idea, and I believe bringing up the other two to replace Martin and Wally will not hurt, and may in fact give us some more youth, speed, and scoring.
this guy always wilts in the spotlight...pressure, squeezes stick and underperforms...happened when he first got here and couldn't score for twenty games, happened in playoffs, happens when Barzal goes down and we need him to step up...
We do need him to step up when Barzal is out. It's a bad time for a slump. I'm confident he'll pull out of it but the sooner and better. Thanks for the comment, foleydvm. Have a great Thanksgiving and LGI
What r the odds going into 3 Rd period lead and losing. Horvat,Holmstrom, Tsyplakov, have to start scoring. Whalstrom ? He in my opinion won't be here next year
Yeah, Tsyplakov has one goal in his last 21 games and Horvat needs to get going. Holmstrom has to contribute more as well. Wally? He's had 3 "last chances" and still hasn't produced. I like the guy but I'm not sure he has a future here either. Thanks for the comment, thornmanism. Have a great Thanksgiving and LGI.
26 shouldn't be on isles now. 26 can't score on top line or on 4th line. when is louzer gonna realize his mistake and let 26 go? maybe when a hot prospect pushes 26 for a job which will be never.
@stevenbauer4799 Yeah Walstrom is terrible. He plays like he's out of sync. Not a good skater. But we been waiting for goals which is a joke. They could bring up someone from Bridgeport who could only be better.
Hovart is a skilled player and he will overcome this “slump” very soon!
I am confident he will. It's very bad timing as the team needed him to step up with Duclair and Barzal out. I hope he breaks out soon. Thanks for the comment, heidiaunins7306. LGI
I beleive horvat will be fine hes much tougher then alot of guys also he seems to very strong minded hell wake up
I'm confident he will snap out of it. He will need a big hot streak to reach 30 goals this year, but he'll heat up at some point. Thanks for the comment Cory. Have a great Thanksgiving. LGI
Should be at the Saturday game
