Heads up, new AI mod JUST came out today. What funny timing. It's called "Chemfluence - AI Combat Dynamics" and I wonder how it compares to the aforementioned AI mods in this video.
Well that's quite inconvenient for me. Taking a quick look at Chemfluence, I can see it's a script based mod like PANPC/PACE, but far more simple. To illustrate, Chemfluence has a single 9 kilobyte script, whereas PANPC alone has dozens adding up to over 2 megabytes. All Chemfluence does is change each NPC's combat style depending on several factors: - chem they've most recently consumed - equipped weapon (melee/shotgun/ranged) - health dropping below configurable threshold The Pack Attack mods have their own dynamic combat style switching system, which already has the latter two factors covered. I imagine if you attempted to use both PANPC/PACE and Chemfluence at once, NPCs would constantly flip between combat styles, which would be undesirable. Due to this soft conflict, these mods shouldn't be used together. If you can handle the script load caused by Pack Attack, I see no reason to choose Chemfluence over it. Every other mod I've reviewed will work fine with Chemfluence, although any changes they make to the default combat styles will be overwritten by Chemfluence's new combat styles most of the time. For Arbitration/Advanced AI Tweaks, this may be a benefit rather than a downside. There you go. Wonder no longer. I'll add this write-up to the description soon, so my video isn't out of date 1 day after posting it.
@@captainfordo1 Both mods use the SetCombatStyle command all the time, so they'll be fighting for control of each NPC's combat style. I checked the scripts myself, this is the case.

As a long time PANPC user who made the Horizon patch, playing with the mod is like playing a new Fallout 4. And I recommend turning the stealth HUD indicator off. Use sight, sound, and learn the mod. Basically, you are never fully invisible, even with the Stealthboy effect running, so you will get spotted more easily no matter what your sneak skill is. If you're going for Ninja invisibility type stealth, this is not the mod for you, and that's paraphrasing the author's words. I do sneak more than I would with Vanilla but that's the only real negative, if you want to call it that. It does create a harder combat experience but nothing overwhelming. Script load is another concern. I've tried other mods and Pack Attack is simply too good. There is exhaustive documentation on how the mod works. You need to read that if you're going to use the mod or you'll have too many questions in the Discord.

That was a great video, well done comparisons of similar mods are hard to come by. I wonder how well or not PANPC plays with the newly released " _Enhanced AI Detection - NPC - Stealth Level HUD Indicator_ " mod by LarannKiar. Despite the name its just a mod for the hud element itself so you could use this to change what the meter does instead of just turning it off.
I have been usinr real. Ai and i cant go back. I notice that npcs chase you and try to find you in a much more agressive way. They also move around more and use cover more effectively instead of standing there getting shot up. In interiors its very hard to go back to complete stealth after firing a shot. In exteriors you actually get engaged with instead of them waiting for you. I also play on series s and disable the stealth meter with Ihud. Enemies seem to focus more on light levels when far away which makes sense. When close, if you can move slowly, you can maybe get a stealth kill.
Nice video. I was searching for a mod that fixes the incredibly stupid way that FO4 handles stealth in multi-story buildings. I don’t want to make stealth easier, but it makes zero sense that enemies on the sixth floor go to Caution when you’re sneaking around directly below them on the first floor. Anyone know a mod that fixes this stupid design flaw? Thanks

As well as enemies spotting you from the top of Corvega for instance...without the mod the player will have no issue whatsoever.
I haven't tried to modify the game AI because I really never considered it to be "AI"; while the concepts were around and improved over the years, the required simplicity to accommodate large number of NPCs always left it in the realm of "detection circuit" in my eyes. Which brings up the thought that our gaming hardware is going to have to change soon, not so much with graphics where realism is now more of an artistic choice rather than a limitation, but in memory and AI processing to run the background processes, or scripts of the simulation.
Until we get some serious changes in the materials we use for CPU semiconductors (away from silicon), we're not going to see many changes any time soon. Physics is quite literally curbing our ability to develop processors.

I want a mod that stops a tiny raider chick blocking my sledgehammer power attack with her forearm so arbitration might work for me
Real AI is actually fun
Pack Attack looks really cool, but the guy who made it seems like a real kook. Having to get a special role just to download it for personal use is kind of ridiculous.
waw i see what you want it real but you shoot without the firing pin
These are not on playstation
You are the man!
Sounds like very single one of these mods is a complete waste of time.
good stuff
Karizma
Lifesaver.
The description of real AI is inaccurate. NPC’s will also flank you take cover more accurately and use their weapons more realistically, I made a characters will rush you down and snipers will try to stay far away.
Ur to hard on arbitration. Been useing it for years. Does alot more…
arbitration
Bethesda sucks... also Todd Howard sucks... I challenge both publicly to offer Me an official and legal job, complete with a contract, as Director (even remotely) of the development of an mine game-idea for the next title released by this mentioned Company (and is not a joke this comment)
