You know... I've listened to trivium for so long. I began my journey into metal and its sub genres after a friend let me borrow his In Flames CD during math class in 7th grade. I was never into Metallica and the other well known, heavily repeated mainstream bands. Elizabeth, your videos are very fun to watch, and I regularly learn more about the bands and their styles when they are featured in your videos. I've never understood why some of them are so deeply rooted in my heart, life, and memories. I could never put my finger on what made them so unique and special to me. You find a way to explain what resonates within me when I listen to them. So thank you. I haven't seen you so one of their songs, yet... but I discovered a band about 8 years ago called Miss May I. My wife has never been into my music taste... but we saw went to a show about 2 or so years ago in Seattle at the El Corazon... it was All That Remains fall of ideals anniversary tour. I've loved all that remains for over 15 years at that point, and Miss May I played their set just before them. My wife had never been to a metal show, and had heard stories about the pit... she was scared before the show. Miss May I played I.H.E. and my wife jumped into the pit... i of course went in with her, and the look of absolute joy on her face as she lost control is permanently seared into my mind, and always brings tears to my eyes. Since then, we have gone to a metal show once every couple months... she loves it, now and claims it is an outlet for her. I'm happy she's with me and gets it, now. If you could feature one of their songs, I would absolutely relish the video. I recommend I.H.E., Echoes, Tangled Tongues, Porcelain Wings, Forgive and Forget, or Unconquered... but really any of their songs are great in my opinion. Than you for the video. You are amazing.
Matt Heafy would be a great guest for a tea time interview! He's had a very interesting vocal journey where he had to basically relearn how to scream after shooting his vocals. Plus he's a great guy who's very open to interviews usually.
Can't second enough that you should consider more Trivium reactions! They are such a talented and multidimensional band. It's hard to capture their sound in just one song!
Damn girl. You just entered a world of LEGENDARY music. Trivium is a one of a kind heavy metal band. These are the members. Matt Heafy- Vocals/guitarist Cory Beaulier- Lead guitarist Paolo Gregoletto- Bass guitarist Alex Bent- Drummer
Matt Heafy looks like such an awesome dude! He's involved in so many music/instrumental communities on youtube and connects with his fans so much (aside from the great music).
Trivium's Washing Me Away In The Tides is still and has been one of my favorite songs for years. Love this band and cant wait to see you cover more from them possibly.
YYYEEESSS!!! I have been waiting for you to get to Trivium! Matt Heafy's vocals are incredible!!! And after having recovered from throat surgery, shifting from harsh-only growls and vocals to now blending his fully recovered and powerful screams *and* cleans together into their music has just transformed this group's sound!!! (I know some of my fellow metalheads prefer their older stuff, and totally respect that - I still love Trivium's old music as well as their new stuff equally.) Matt seems like the kind of dude who would totally sit down for tea with you, too - man, I hope that happens!!!

@@ShapeshiftedCowShogun is phenomenal, but ascendancy was my introduction into trivium and so holds first place for me in pure nostalgia. Either way. More trivium is better.
Thank you. I've been following these guys as my favorite band since 2005. Love and respect them in love when people discover them because they aren't trendy, they are just a rock solid band and group of men.
Matt Heafy = Guitar/Vocals Fun fact about Matt when he joined trivium in the beginning, he was only supposed to be a guitarist. When the lead vocalist quit, he was picked by the band to sing. Prior to that he had never sang before in his life, and he has had to develop himself not only with his screaming, but with his singing, and I don’t think he ever really took lessons until later in life , it’s pretty astounding from what he’s accomplished. MORE TRIVIUM!! And I am also requesting a teatime interview with Matt later down the road after you have done more songs, you rock Elizabeth!! I’m excited for this!!
I said out loud watchung this, well he's been doing it 24 maybe 5 years... then I felt really fuggin old, because I was introduced to them on the Roadrunner Allstar album. Damn days are long, and years are so quick.
This is what I've been waiting for. I'm so happy. Fantastic analysis, as always. Easily my favourite band. Please continue to check out more of their work. Catastrophist and The Sin and the sentence really shows off Matt's range.
Yess! Trivium. They have been my favorite band since about 2010. I went to one of their shows, and near the start of their set, the power to the stage lighting and sound went out. Instead of being sour or leaving, Matt stayed on stage until the sound got fixed and just chatted with the crowd for about 30 minutes, then they finished their set without their stage lighting. Made me fall completely in love with Trivium , also the music just slaps.
Heafy is a genius with his vocal and guitar together. a Sound goosebump musician. my wife and I enjoy your shtick. you're adorable. your content brings joy. thank you.
Absolutely tremendous band, love them. His voice has changed so much over the years and yet has continued with the standards they’ve always had. Can’t wait to see them again next year in Glasgow
I have been following for a year. Finally subscribed. I love music. You do a great job of describing the singers voices. I never had a clue how much goes into it. This is a new band for me. I really like them. Thank you.
The thing about Trivium is that they're absolutely the most technical and perfectional band I've seen performing live - especially in the last few years. They bring 110% on stage and I think they pay special attention to their live sound, never been disappointed by the mix ❤
Ms.Ma’am.. being a viewer of your channel for a while.. your intellectual knowledge and courage to listen to 🎶 that may be not in your wheelhouse is completely in my opinion is diluted by your charm of character and your beauty is a absolute gift from God… as you stated in this video… your easy to understand and visual understand how the artist are using their craft! .. !
Its great that you are checking out Trivium! Love 'em! Matt's voice is quite unique. He blew it up like ten years ago because of bad screaming technique. Since then he's been working on his vocals a lot, vocal coach and stuff. Now he can keep screaming almost like he used to, but his cleans improved a lot. This is a more comercial song, but their heavy stuff is great! I hope you can react to The Shadow of the Abbatoir, Shogun, In Waves maybe, there are a lot of awesome songs!
OMG!!! Thank you thank you thank you for finally doing a trivium song. I can't express the joy you just gave me watching you reaction to them and feeling the same way I feel when hearing their music. Emp since you've not listened before.

Trivium have been my favourite band for the past 20odd years. There's so much more to their music than just 'being metal'. I had the pleasure to see them live once, and by far the best live performance I've seen. So good! Thanks for the video. Hope you're doing well with the later stages of pregnancy/being a mum ❤
Finally trivium! Another very important modern metal band that you can tick off the list. they had a beautiful musical evolution from metalcore to a modern mix of thrash , heavy and more.
I have never listened to trivium before.this song has some great lyrics and visuals.great choice will look up some more of there songs.thank you for posting this reaction video.
Watch the video for Shadow of the Abattoir. It’s long but tells a very cool story and has a good range of the bands different sounds. If you enjoy heavier music, pretty much anything from the Shogun album is pure gold. They have a lot to choose from stylistically.
Great band I was introduced to by a co-worker years ago. Glad to see you check them out. I clicked on this video so fast. Playlist=Yes, Karaoke=Yes, Moving down the Highway=Yes! I really enjoy your video's. The knowledge and professionalism you bring all of us is most admiral. Thank you for being you.
I've got goosebumps all over. There is so many perfect songs from Trivium which just blow my mind no matter how many times I listen to them. Matt just has that voice where he brings enough sort of rage, aggression but also maybe even desperation to the table? I don't know how to describe it well. Knowing that Matt is a nerd just brings the music to another level for some reason. I would have loved to have this song and also Vengeance Falls or Villainy Thrives in one reaction video. This was awesome, thank you so much.
Couldn't have picked a better Trivium song to start with. My personal favorite. It became the Anthem for my life when i first heard it. Loved the simplicity of the musical arrangement behind one of the most well written and stylish vocal deliveries ive heard. Can't think of any other way to explain it. But that's the beauty of emotions. Words cant explain them. Listen to the song. Feel it.
Listen to their early stuff when Matt was still a teenager. It's crazy how mature their music was even back then. I saw them live once, in Copenhagen. Best mosh pit I've ever been in.
Matt would be a fantastic guest to have tea time with. He's super down to earth, chill, and has had a really interesting professional journey beginning from a very young age. He's evolved a lot as a human across the years and it shows in how mature he's become. I used to be a huge metalhead back in my high school days, with Trivium being my favorite band back then. Since then, I've drifted away from the metal scene as a whole, but I still listen to every new Trivium album that comes out. Would love to see you listen to more of their stuff! Also can't wait for him to react to this video after someone inevitably sends it to him on stream lol.
First metal concert I ever went to was Trivium on the Ascendency tour, absolutely amazing night! Got to meet the band before and after the show, amazingly nice guys!
More Trivium please! They have been my favorite band since I was 12 and you have been my favorite reactor since I started watching music reactions. This is the combo of dreams, keep it going! 😊
I'm pretty new to the TCV channel and seeing you discuss Trivium is so, so sick to me, they're my favourite band of all time. Thank you so much for doing what you do here!
Trivium is one of the most underrated bands of this generation so I’m happy you found your way to it! I would love to see Matt on a Tea Time Interview 😬. Trivium is one of the most technically impressive bands I’ve ever seen live, and every album is a straight banger. Matt had damaged his voice in earlier years, but has been able to correct it. This is an amazing journey, and I can’t wait to watch it happen. If you want heavier, Court of the Dragon and The Phalanx. If you want something similar to this, Strife and The Sin and the Sentence. And if you want more mellow, Silence in the Snow. I’d also recommend watching their “Live from the Hanger” videos. You’ll get to see Matt and the boys work their magic live 😁
Trivium is a fantastic band to go through the journey of their sound over the years. The first ever band I saw live back in 2007 and still one of my favourites to this day
Ive loved Trivium since i heard them in 2005. Ive seen them every time theyve played Belfast, in Dublin and even in NYC! Cant wait for your reaction. ❤
I can definitely recommend the sin and the sentence by Trivium. Fantastic song with a great combination of visual storytelling also. It's one of my favorites. Hope you do more Trivium in the future, great band, and awesome video. ❤
I discovered Trivium when they were doing live online concerts during the pandemic. Spamming 🤘 in Twitch chat made me feel connected to people again, it kept me sane during quarantine.
I saw Trivium when they opened for Iron Maiden…had no idea who they were. Let me tell you, they put on one hell of a show, and I became a fan that night. I can’t imagine the pressure of opening for a band like Maiden and they did it with professionalism and class, and had me engaged from the first note. Your evaluation of them is really amazing and just makes me like them even more! Love the videos…keep it up!
My favourite metal band, they play all the metal styles in such a way that we never get bored, the crusade, ascendancy et in the court of the dragon. I think we hear the best songing of matt in shogun, all of these yesterdays, caustic are ties that bind, vilainy thrives, dead and gone, until the world goes cold, cease all your fire, other worlds, scattering the ashes and feast of fire.
It finally happened, ahhhhh! I found your channel about a year ago and have patiently waited for Trivium! By far my favorite band, and if you’re looking for another song, then Catastrophist has a lot of great vocals! Keep on keeping on!
So glad to see Trivium on this channel. I think one of the best qualities of this band is every album is different, but it still has a core sound. It's hard to explain but they've always been experimental with their sound within their range.
I’ve been a metalhead my entire life. I enjoy all different genres and have respect for them all but metal has always been what connects emotionally, symbolically, and spiritually with how my brain is wired. Trivium is one of the first kind of new age metal bands that I truly loved way back in 2004/2005 with Ember to Inferno followed by Ascendency. Ascendency is still one of the best metal albums ever to this day. Seeing them live in a small concert venue in 2006 with Lamb of God and Gojira will always be the best concert I’ve ever been to. Growing up I always loved Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, etc… but it wasn’t until the wave of metalcore and such began to weave into more traditional metal that I really took off and never looked back. Atreyu in 2001 and Trivium in 2004/2005 were those bands for me that I truly connected with on all levels. Just hearing 3 seconds of any of their epic songs gives me full body goosebumps. Over time your tastes change and morph into other things but Trivium, Atreyu, Opeth and Mastodon are those bands that are the emotionally and symbolically anchored forever in my brain. Putting your headphones on and knowing that you’ll be transported to a place where your feelings, experiences, and more are shared by others and expressed through musical bliss is the ultimate feeling. Trivium, Mastodon, Opeth and Atreyu will always be my place. 🤘🏼 Edit: Trivium songs I’d suggest listening to that I feel you’d enjoy or at least have fun rocking out to as well as finding the symbolism in the lyrics are… (Each - is the next album chronologically) (Songs from 2005 to 2015ish as you’d find their songs from 2017 and on easier) - All of Ascendency - Detonation, Tread the Floods - All of Shogun (literally) - In Waves, Dusk Dismantled, Watch the World Burn, Black, A Skyline’s Severance, Caustic are the ties that Bind, Forsake Not the Dream - Strife, Through Dirt & Blood & Bone - Silence in the Snow, Blind Leading the Blind, Dead and Gone, Pull Me From the Void, Until the World Goes Cold, The Darkness of my Mind Despite Ascendency and Shogun being two of the greatest metal albums ever, I think the songs you could do videos on and also enjoy the videos are… (In no order of preference) 1) Shogun 2) Dead and Gone 3) Down From the Sky 4) In Waves 5) The Darkness of My Mind Also it’s funny that all of the bands & singers you reference that Matt sounds like are all huge influences of his especially Dio. One song you may overlook and never find out about if going through Spotify or Trivium Discography that is an absolute gem; albeit more heavy, thrashy, and doesn’t have Matt singing, is a song Matt & Corey from Trivium did for Roadrunner United called “In the Fire”. Mind you, it’s King Diamond singing but the riffs are absolutely bonkers. The harmonious vocals he overlays near the end are so almost angelic in tone. IMO they are intentionally placed there to add power, tragedy, happiness, symbolism, and more in order to fuse the message and feelings the song is trying to get across in one final conclusive way. Despite how short they are, they really deliver such a potent, emotional sensation that almost brings you to tears as so many feelings deep inside of you are brought out at once. It’s beautiful. Sorry for the wall of text but one last thing is Matt blew out his vocals after touring so much that after healing, he took on a brand new approach to how he would sing. He took years of vocal lesson and classes with experts in those areas in order to create the voice you hear in this song. He still continues to work on his voice literally every day on his Twitch channel where he sings and plays all sorts of songs along with doing awesome gaming sessions haha.
You need to hear Caustic Are The Ties That Bind. The transition from heavy to melodic during the songs bridge is one of the most well constructed pieces of music ever composed.
I loved this so much! Thank you very much! Anytime you’ll have me on for a chat - I am in! Just lmk :D

Exactly!!!!!
Matt is one of the best guitar players of this era.
Can't second enough that you should consider more Trivium reactions! They are such a talented and multidimensional band. It's hard to capture their sound in just one song!
"In waves" by Trivium is just extraordinary
2nd best album IMHO
Eat Rice!
Or Eight Wives 😂
Still absolutely love the song but you can't unhear it.
lol
This is just the tip of Matt’s vocal range. Can’t wait to see you do more Trivium!!
Damn girl. You just entered a world of LEGENDARY music. Trivium is a one of a kind heavy metal band. These are the members.
Matt Heafy- Vocals/guitarist
Cory Beaulier- Lead guitarist
Paolo Gregoletto- Bass guitarist
Alex Bent- Drummer
What would make this band legendary? They are okay.
Cory and Paolo also do back up vocals
They are legendary@@JasperSchwinghammer
@@KML-XXthey’re anything but legendary. so mid 😂
wtf dym, well ofc not literally legendary, that would be like metallica only or something, but definitely one of the best @@mootkickee
Matt Heafy looks like such an awesome dude! He's involved in so many music/instrumental communities on youtube and connects with his fans so much (aside from the great music).
Trivium finally! I'm all for that!
Love Trivium!! I've seen them many times and have great pics with them from VIP Meet and Greets. The guys are so awesome and down to earth!!
I always like positive message songs like this, especially when they invoke introspective thought
Totally!
First song I heard from them was “we are the fire”
@@patrickpendergast898 That is a great track! I came in a little after you with Shogun, still one of my absolute favorites of theirs!
@@patrickpendergast898 Dude.. I had heard Ember To Inferno, Ascendancy and The Crusade so many times, over and over .. My break-in albums before getting into all their amazing new thing some time ago!!
We Are The Fire & Watch The World Burn I feel almost go hand in hand in feel
if I'm talking nonsense it's coz I I'm running on adrenaline from finally getting Trivium on TCV!! 🤪
I have loved Trivium for years and finally saw them live last year, and man, they put on a fantastic, high-energy performance! He has one of those made for radio/tv broadcast voices when he talks. Easily one of my favorite vocalists.
Yes! If you dig further into the trivium vaults, the entire Ascendancy album is Gold. Can't wait!
Lol Matt did a listen through to Ascendency one time on stream, and he was trashing his vocal technique. He kept going "oh owwwwwww why dude!"
We need stuff from Shogun
@@markoitmard hell yeah. Shogun remains their best album to this day imo. Ascendancy is probably #2 for me
@@ShapeshiftedCow ascendancy is about equal to ITCOTD for me, but Shogun is just an all-time classic
Matt Heafy = Guitar/Vocals
Fun fact about Matt when he joined trivium in the beginning, he was only supposed to be a guitarist.
Matt messed up his vocal cords do to the way that he was singing. So, he had to learn how to sing correctly to continue.
Road Runner United. The end
I said out loud watchung this, well he's been doing it 24 maybe 5 years... then I felt really fuggin old, because I was introduced to them on the Roadrunner Allstar album. Damn days are long, and years are so quick.
And then I really miss Joey too after rewatching that dvd😢
Some of the best 2000's metal songs, thanks Roadrunner.
@@Matth3w311isonfor them to make him a captain at his age... they knew what they had. And he knocked it outta the park.
I wish i could subscribe to this channel a second time, im so happy trivium is finnally on here. All time favorite band!
Hard to believe we've gone this long without a Trivium song. They are so freaking talented and have been a fan of them since their Shogun album.
Trivium for your soul!!! Seen them so many time in New Mexico. In waves one of their best albums
Yes!!! Not enough people react to Trivium. They are freaking amazing!!
Trivium has been one of my favorite bands since I was in Jr High, and I am so glad you're doing this.
Love trivium. Your going to enjoy this rabbit hole.
I have been following for a year. Finally subscribed. I love music. You do a great job of describing the singers voices. I never had a clue how much goes into it. This is a new band for me. I really like them. Thank you.
Trivium sound is ever changing, ever album is different, a great band to dive into, hopefully we see more videos of you covering them.
Love!!!! Thank u for doing Trivium!! One of my absolute fa favorites!
Oh my gosh she is going to have so much fun listening to Trivium in the future. Phenomenal band with amazing music
The thing about Trivium is that they're absolutely the most technical and perfectional band I've seen performing live - especially in the last few years. They bring 110% on stage and I think they pay special attention to their live sound, never been disappointed by the mix ❤
My favorite current band! Saw them live a few months ago, amazing stuff, can't wait
Same!
Ms.Ma’am.. being a viewer of your channel for a while.. your intellectual knowledge and courage to listen to 🎶 that may be not in your wheelhouse is completely in my opinion is diluted by your charm of character and your beauty is a absolute gift from God… as you stated in this video… your easy to understand and visual understand how the artist are using their craft! ..
Yes!!! Trivium are incredible and Matt's voice is one of the best / most iconic in all of metal!
Absolutely love finally seeing Trivium on the channel. I have been a fan since 2005 and they have a massive amount of songs you will absolutely love. Hope to see you react to more soon.
I'm a huge Dream Theater fan and discovered Trivium through their tour together. Two awesome bands. Love your reactions!!!
Finally! I've been waiting for this one. Matt Heafy has some interesting vocals and his voice works so well for the band's sound.
Oh heck yeah! Matt would be a great interview. You would love to hear his regimen that he does daily and on tour. He seems like he magics time to talk to everyone too.
I always thought you'd enjoy Trivium. It's nice to see you've finally checked them out!
Yes Elizabeth! They are my all time favourite band and have an incredible back catalogue! Can't wait to see more reactions to them in the future ❤️
Trivium is solid. So glad u finally reacted to their song. There are so many good songs in their catalogue.
Daaamn I've never clicked a video so fast in my life ! Please do more, nearly every album they sound different!
Same!! 🤘🏼😝 ...Almost too much excitement! LOL
Lmao 😂
I've got goosebumps all over. There is so many perfect songs from Trivium which just blow my mind no matter how many times I listen to them. Matt just has that voice where he brings enough sort of rage, aggression but also maybe even desperation to the table? I don't know how to describe it well. Knowing that Matt is a nerd just brings the music to another level for some reason. I would have loved to have this song and also Vengeance Falls or Villainy Thrives in one reaction video.
This was awesome, thank you so much.
Finally a band that deserves a grammy
Couldn't have picked a better Trivium song to start with. My personal favorite. It became the Anthem for my life when i first heard it. Loved the simplicity of the musical arrangement behind one of the most well written and stylish vocal deliveries ive heard. Can't think of any other way to explain it. But that's the beauty of emotions. Words cant explain them. Listen to the song. Feel it.
Listen to their early stuff when Matt was still a teenager. It's crazy how mature their music was even back then.
I saw them live once, in Copenhagen. Best mosh pit I've ever been in.
Only time I saw them here in NZ they opened for Disturbed. Matt was real sick but still absolutely nailed it, they just had a real short set
You need to listen to until the world goes cold! There's something about the chord progression that gives me goosebumps every time!
A top three Trivium song for me. Beyond the exceptional vocals and music, the song is so well arranged. This is a masterclass in metal songwriting.
First metal concert I ever went to was Trivium on the Ascendency tour, absolutely amazing night! Got to meet the band before and after the show, amazingly nice guys!
Found these guys when I moved to Orlando in 2005 and have been hooked since. Stoked to see them make it here!
By far my absolute favorite band, seen them live in 2019. Awesome to see them on this channel
I can definitely recommend the sin and the sentence by Trivium. Fantastic song with a great combination of visual storytelling also. It's one of my favorites. Hope you do more Trivium in the future, great band, and awesome video. ❤
They’re amazing!
I saw them twice in Melbourne, been a fan of their work for close to 20 years
I discovered Trivium when they were doing live online concerts during the pandemic.
Trivium is amazing and Matt would be an amazing Tea Time guest! 👌🤘
This is probably one of my all-time favorite songs ❤
Trivium is one of my top 5 Bands of all time.
So glad to see Trivium on this channel. I think one of the best qualities of this band is every album is different, but it still has a core sound. It's hard to explain but they've always been experimental with their sound within their range.
Once again, I was introduced to a new artist on this channel. Great fun to attend the premieres on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, at 10 AM ET.
Keep listening to their stuff, especially Shogun. So much for stuff from them.
Edit:
Trivium songs I’d suggest listening to that I feel you’d enjoy or at least have fun rocking out to as well as finding the symbolism in the lyrics are…
(Each - is the next album chronologically)
(Songs from 2005 to 2015ish as you’d find their songs from 2017 and on easier)
- All of Ascendency
- Detonation, Tread the Floods
- All of Shogun (literally)
- In Waves, Dusk Dismantled, Watch the World Burn, Black, A Skyline’s Severance, Caustic are the ties that Bind, Forsake Not the Dream
- Strife, Through Dirt & Blood & Bone
- Silence in the Snow, Blind Leading the Blind, Dead and Gone, Pull Me From the Void, Until the World Goes Cold, The Darkness of my Mind
Despite Ascendency and Shogun being two of the greatest metal albums ever, I think the songs you could do videos on and also enjoy the videos are…
(In no order of preference)
1) Shogun
2) Dead and Gone
3) Down From the Sky
4) In Waves
5) The Darkness of My Mind
Also it’s funny that all of the bands & singers you reference that Matt sounds like are all huge influences of his especially Dio.
A day with trivium is a happy day
Finally some Trivium!!! Love this band by far one of my favorite bands I hope you do more songs by them!
Finally a Matt Kichikori Heafy video!!!! Awesome Trivium song to analyze. Way to go Mrs Wacka Wacka 🤣🤣🤣
You need to hear Caustic Are The Ties That Bind. The transition from heavy to melodic during the songs bridge is one of the most well constructed pieces of music ever composed.
Absolutely! For that reason, it’s one of my absolute favorite Trivium songs.
This band has so many amazing songs. Dive in there's so much more.
Absolutely Love Trivium
