As a fan of Trivium since around 2005, I am extremely happy that you enjoyed listening to this amazing band. Every album they released is perfect (although I may be a bit biased) and has a different sound than any other album which is difficult to do for most bands. If you liked this song then you should listen to their latest album In The Court Of The Dragon, it is insanely good!

@@darthdev I do believe this is their 8th album and in the court of the dragon would be their 10th album. They are really good though. Bisscute, you should do the phalanx. It's off their newest album and the official video was made with cgi for a video game release and I think you'll really enjoy it. Then you should go wayback to 2005 and check out like light to the flies and you'll go from seeing the 4o year old versions back to them being kids. Honestly I think they have made around 100 songs and I'm not sure I would skip any of them, so good

This is the title track from their 8th album "The Sin And The Sentence." The first album of theirs featuring Alex Bent on drums. And also a return for Matt to screaming vocals again. A few years prior he did some damage to his vocal chords and he thought he would never be able to scream again. Which is why their previous record (Silence in the Snow) had only clean vocals.
In my opinion Trivium really hit their stride with this album. And this is also their best sounding album in my opinion.

I’ve seen these guys live like 4 times now. I could see them 4 more. They’re super tight live and I met all 4 of them after a show with my friends one time. They took a group photo of them with me, my friends and every other fan standing there and Matt, the singer, posted it on his Instagram story. Super cool dudes

I found Trivium by way of a reaction video probably in 2018 at 45 years old, now one of my favorite bands ever. I can’t believe I almost missed out on so much great music,
If you loved this song you definitely need to check out more of their stuff! Prior to this album it’s all great but since finding this drummer they have gone to a whole new level!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Alex and Corey after a show and they couldn't have been nicer. Alex in particular was so kind. 10/10 group of guys. Even their security, Andrei, is amazingly cool.

I love Trivium. I'm glad you finally got to see them. I remember mentioning them in chat while you were playing Metal: Hellsinger. They are so tight as a band. I need to see them live at least once. Keep it metal. \m/ Also, Catastrophist is another freaking insane song by them that I would recommend for the near future.

Awesome reaction! I'm a massive Trivium fan and this is one of my favorites from recent albums. I would recommend Shogun, from the album of the same title, for your next one. IMHO, it shows the massive range that the band actually has. It's almost theatrical in the changes. Both the "Shogun" and "The Sin and the Sentence" albums are two of my favorites.

I've seen them 9 times and was lucky enough to meet them on The Crusade tour, welcome to the Trivium family, you need to react to everything from this album on, and they have an extremely respectable catalog prior. Until the World Goes Cold, as a musician myself, it's the song I listen to and pout because I can't write shit that good, the entire Shogun album, all of Ascendency, From Ember to Inferno slams, and Matt(singer/guitarist was only 13 years old when it was written.
I've been a Trivium fan since 2008 and Alex Bent was THE BEST thing to ever happen to this band.
Been a fan of Trivium since the Ascendancy album, seen them more times than any other band and briefly met Matt Heafy at Soundwave festival in Adelaide years ago. Absolutely brilliant live. You can't go wrong with anything from them. \m/

Something I noticed in Trivium (some of these are purely my opinion)
Their most popular album is "The sin and the sentence"(even tho Ascendancy is considered their best album), their album with best singles is "In Waves" and the best over all album is "What the dead man say"

I love this band.It was 2005. Their last album In the Court of the Dragon is just perfect. Check more songs out. You should definitely check out their songs The Catastrophist, In the Court of the dragon, The Phalanx and Like a Sword over damocles. You will love it.100%

I too became a fan of the band around 2005, 2006 after the release of their 3rd album, The Crusade. But it was the videos from their songs from the 2nd album, Ascendency, that got me. And what got me was that they played a Thrashy Metalcore style of music that was very progressive as you can see here. I love it when bands constantly change rhythms, tempos, and other crazy shit in their songs that keep you on your toes or guessing what they're gonna do next, right? And the other thing that grabbed me was how well Matt Heafy was able to scream/growl, but then also sing great in a clean voice. The song/video "Like Light to Flies" was the one that said to me, "Hey, this dude can sing." And that made me wanna buy their catalog, which was only 3 albums at the time. But now they're up to 10 albums, and sad to say that I quit buying their stuff after the 5th album, In Waves, from 2011, because my musical tastes had changed a bit. But this past Summer, I started seeing the band pop up in recommendations and stuff, so i checked them out again, and discovered that they're still kicking ass, so i decided to buy all 5 of their remaining albums. And like someone else said, each album is a little bit different. You see, Matt started out doing mostly screaming, with only scattered clean vocals, and in doing so, he blew out his voice. Couldn't do the screaming anymore. However after surgery (I think) and rest and training to do it safer, he started screaming again. So for an album or two in the mid 2010s, he only sang in a clean vocal style. But now he's back to screaming. The title track to their newest album "In the Court of the Dragon" is one you should definitely check out. It's even better and crazier than this song here. But you will find that all their stuff is good if you like this style of music. When I said that my musical tastes had changed, that's what I mean in that this style of metalcore just wasn't for me anymore at the time, but thru reaction channels I have regained interest in several styles of metal that I once was into, but fell out of favor with over the years. And I come from the Hair Metal and Thrash Metal days of the 80s, so I've been around the block a time or two.. just saying... Sometimes new styles come out that you wanna give a try, and then a few years later you're like "Meh? Not for me anymore." But then something's changed and you're like "OK, let me give these guys/gals another shot." Found that out with another band I got into around 2005, Visions of Atlantis, a symphonic metal band, kinda a poor man's version of Nightwish. But they've released two really good albums here as of late that got me back into them. And again, I bought up all the albums that I skipped out on over the past 15 years. Well anyway, got a little long winded there, but hopefully that'll give ya a little taste or window into what some of us metalheads go through over the course of our lives.

Trivium are from Florida, where a lot of death metal bands reside... They rose to fame in the mid-2000's w/ their 2nd album ' Ascendancy' in 2005, fusing 80's thrash metal w/ melodic heavy metal and extreme metal... followed up by the album 'The Crusade' in 2006 w/ album sales increasing and the band getting popular on MTV for a while. 4th album 'Shogun' in 2008 also did well, but original drummer Travis Smith would leave Trivium soon after...
Trivium released 'In waves' in 2011... 'Vengeance Falls' was the next album in 2013.
'Silence in the snow' (2015) was the next record, attempting to make Trivium's music more accessible, but it wasn't the 'big success' of previous albums.
'The Sin and the Sentence' (2017) was a much better record by Trivium.
Their recent albums were 'What the dead men say' (2020) and 'In the court of the Dragon' (2021)
Trivium is: Matt Heafy (lead vocals & guitar), Corey Beaulieu (guitar) & Paolo Gregoletto (bass)... Their current drummer here is Alex Bent. The band has toured w/ Metallica, Slipknot, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and others...

Trivium is amazing. I love Sin and the Sentence. But if you want to hear an album that I think will stand the test of time...Shogun. I legit think that it stands as a peer to some of the classics from centuries ago and will be listened to for a long time still. I know that is saying alot, but yeah.
