Pete, great show. I thought you failed to mention worst too but you did: Ratt/Poison show.
I saw Ratt about 4 years ago at House of Blues and while they weren't terrible, Pearcy's voice is shot and he just hasn't agreed well.
The new commercials he does are fun though..lol

My first concert was Led Zeppelin (February 4th, 1975, Nassau Coliseum). The loudest concert I have ever seen was Deep Purple with Tommy Bolin and Nazareth opening (Radio City Music Hall, Spring, 1975). My ears are still ringing 46 years later! One of the worst concerts I saw was Fleetwood Mac around 1976 at Madison Square Garden. They were completely devoid of energy. I may have also seen Jackson "Boring" but I can't totally remember. Biggest surprise gets a few mentions here: Procul Harum (Palladium, NYC, mid- late-70's), Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (Madison Square Garden, late 70's), Grateful Dead (Hartford Civic Center, October, 1983), Al Kooper (Bottom Line, NYC, early 80's), Meat Loaf (Paradise Theater, Boston, Fall 1977), and Harry Chapin at a Broadway theater (The Night That Made America Famous). All these acts kicked butt (well, in the case of the Dead, the best weed I had ever tried might have played a small role)! Bands I wish I had seen: as a teenager in the 70's, I got to see almost all the classic rock bands (Yes, Zep, Genesis, Floyd, the Who, Stones, Tull, Kansas, Styx, etc). The only one I somehow missed was the Doobie Brothers, and I wish I had seen them. The band I have seen the most is probably a two-way tie between Yes and Jethro Tull. That's not counting the Dead, since I went through a mini Deadhead phase and saw a lot of their East Coast gigs in the early 80's.

First show - Black Sabbath, Cactus, & Chase, Syracuse, NY 1971.
Last show - Little River Band (Hey I know, but my girlfriend wanted to see them, and actually they were not that bad)'
Best Concert - Gotta be Paul McCartney, seen him twice, Buffalo NY. 10th row and Carrier Dome, Syracuse NY.
Band I have seen the most - Alice Cooper (1st time 1972, last time this year), 30 times +.
Worst concert - Saw Limp Bizkit at Woodstock 99 they sucked.
Surprising band - Agree with Chris, Trans Siberian Orchestra, fantastic concert!
Next concert - Blue Oyster Cult next month at a casino in CNY.
Loudest concert = I saw Rush at a Community College in Auburn, NY played in a gymnasium (think it was just after 2112 came out), my ears were ringing the next day.
Band I wished I had seen - no brainer, the Beatles!

This may have been my favorite HVS. A dozen? people talkin rock shows etc. -- very captivating even if I didn't know some of the bands mentioned. Nick's segment was great as everyone chipped in a little. I laughed out loud several times which is always great and thankfully we saw Lynn give it to Butch towards the end which is always a highlight |||

I know when people talk about “loud” bands, loud more often than not refers to the volume of guitars and drums. But I have to say-- the loudest musical event I ever witnessed was Keith Emerson at a bar in Ottawa Canada, Barrymores concert hall. He was with that Three band- 3 to the power of 3 with Robert Berry. I could not believe a keyboard rig- and of course his rig, with the moot, was massive-could be so unbelievably loud. But it was.

Next Show: have tickets for Porcupine Tree next year.
Best Show: Marillion Clutching At Straws (with Fish) NEC B'ham UK.
Worst Show: Ozzy Ultimate Sin 1987 B'ham UK. He wore a buffon haircut and glittery top...blame Sharon!
Loudest Show: Probably ACDC Back in Black (row E) or Motorhead Ace of Spades same month 1980. Yes I have permanent tinnitus.
Furthest Concert: Saw Yngwie in 1992 in LA whilst on holiday in USA.
Surprising Show: Gary Moore in 1980s we all stood there open mouthed at his playing.
Most Shows: Maiden i think at least x6.
Could have seen: As a 15yr old I was on holiday with my family and saw a poster for UFO with Schenker playing nearby (Taunton i think) but my dad wouldn't take me. Great show as always. Missed a lot of big concerts here in Louisville Kentucky, but went to a lot of local shows before going to my first big concert.
1st- Metallica and The Cult(And Justice for All Tour)
    Last- Overkill and Death Angel
Best and Loudest- Clash of the Titans (Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and Alice and Chains)
Worst- Prong 1994.....Got kicked out before they came on because the people I was with were caught underage drinking lol
Most surprising- Mind Over Four..........opened up for Pantera on the Cowboys From Hell Tour. Seen them at a little bar called the Zodiac Club that held maybe 200. Never heard of this band till I actually seen them that night. They were very good.
Seen The Most- Havent been to many concerts, but its a tie between Pantera, Prong and Overkill. Each band I have seen 3 times.
Bands I wish I have seen- Pink Floyd with Roger Waters, The Beatles, and Children of Bodom.
Next concert - Not for sure

Chris cracks me up with the Lemmy and Philthy B.O. talk and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra being "Dudes from Sabotage playing jingle bells". LOL. That's what I always thought their show was. - And with Butch, Bay City Rollers were kind of heavy for a boy band. Money Honey had some power chordage in it. I would have liked to seen that when I was a kid. And Steve seeing Grampa Jones is cool too. Loved Hee Haw growing up. A lot of great jamming by Roy Clark on that show.

    💡Idea for a future show:
    1. Longest amount of time between concerts you’ve gone to by the same bands or solo artists
    2. Longest amount of time between concerts with the same individual performer (example: Steve Morse band in 1986 and Morse with Deep Purple in 2017=29 years)

First: Skillet and Tenth Avenue North, it was a "festival" or sorts called Kingsfest at the King's Dominion amusement park in Virginia.
Last: Knotfest in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, the bands were Code Orange, Fever 333, Killswitch Engage, and Slipknot.
Best: Testament, Behemoth, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Slayer at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, (although the Knotfest is an extremely close second).
    Worst: Don't have one
Loudest: AC/DC at Gillette Stadium, ears were ringing for days
Most: Never Born to Follow, had to have been at least 10 times when they were still together.
Most surprising: Blue Öyster Cult (I was only 17 or 18 at the time, I thought they were a bunch of old classic rock farts, both my dad and I went because the venue was close and the tickets were cheap, we were both absolutely blown away at how great they were)
Next: Stone Cold, Not My Vice, and Shallow Planet on December 19th at DC9 in Washington, D.C.
Wish I'd seen that I couldn't have: Pantera, Led Zeppelin, Ronnie James Dio in any band (I was 10 when he passed, didn't get into metal until I was 11)
Wish I'd seen that I could have: Motörhead, Ringo Starr (my friend had an extra ticket, I was out with my family, if I had had my own car I would've turned around and seen Ringo, but I didn't and therefore couldn't), Rolling Stones with Charlie Watts, Rush

My first concert was Rush during the “Roll The Bones” tour on June 7, 1992 at Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, Az; I was 30 years old. My last concert was Rush during the “Clockwork Angels” Tour on November 25, 2012 at America West Arena in Phoenix, Az; I was 50 years old at that time, that was also my favorite concert. The bands which I have seen the most times are Rush and Yes- which I have seen 3 times. My least favorite concert was Rush during the “Vapor Trails” tour, not because of the band, but due to the restrictions in place because of the aftermath of 9/11. I had to move my head constantly , in order to see Rush on the monitors due to the nosebleed seats that I had purchased. My most surprising concert was Yes during the “Ladder Tour” on October 29, 1999 at Union Hall in Phoenix, Az; it was like attending a church service where the music did not suck, it was also the first time that I had seen Yes in concert; I was 37 years old at that time. My biggest regret was not seeing Yes during the “Magnification” tour In 2001; unfortunately, they did not come to Arizona.

Great show!!! Here is my checklist:
First Concert - The Jacksons Victory Tour, 1984, Olympic Stadium, Montreal, QC, Canada. I was 14. Kinda surreal to think back on this.
Last Concert - Heart with Sheryl Crow opening up, 2019, Bell Centre, Montreal, QC, Canada. Heart can still rock out, great great show!
Best Concert - Bruce Springsteen, 2018, Bell Centre, Montreal QC, Canada. He played close to four hours. The concert GOAT?
Worst Concert - tie Deep Purple (circa 2001 or 2002?). Vocalist (not sure if it was Gillen) was really struggling and there was nobody singing background. My friend and I left early to go watch Barry Bonds break the all-time HR record at a sports bar! Also, Judas Priest, Nostradamus tour. I just never really got this show, this concept, this album. They played most of it, too! I am happy to say that years later (2018?) I saw the Judas Priest/Deep Purple double bill and they both rocked out! One of the best non-Springsteen shows I have seen!
Band We've Seen the Most - Aerosmith, Def Leppard and Van Halen all four times. KISS three times. Springsteen twice.
Most Surprising Band - Jonny Lang as a 15-year-old guitar whiz opening up for Aerosmith. He literally blew everybody away and got an encore too. He was on fire that night.
Next Concert - Not sure, hopefully soon. If Iron Maiden comes to Canada, that is probably next!
Band We Wished We'd Seen - Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble and Prince. Both died weeks after I missed their show in Montreal. AC/DC, for some reason I never went to see them. I would definitely go if they toured again.

Actually, another concert which would tie for the best concert was seeing The Moody Blues during the “Strange Times” tour on October 20, 1999 at Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix, Az. Two of my biggest regrets was not attending Yes’ Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony in 2017 in New York City and Rush’s RRHOF induction Ceremony in 2013 in Los Angeles, Ca. I did not attend either due to the cost of tickets.
Loudest concert- Heart at Desert Diamond Casino in Sahuarita, Az on January 31, 2010.
By the way, I think that I have attended fewer concerts than Christian Canzoneri and I have not been outside of the state of Arizona since 1989.

I saw the Heavy Metal Kids at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh in the 70’s. They opened up for kiss and rush!! The guitarist didn’t mike his amp through the PA. Playing straight through a Peavey Musician with 2 4-12 cabs! Right in front of me. All you could here was his guitar tones! So loud but really great!

    Cheers Squares.
First- Foreigner and April Wine (1979). April Wine kicked ass. Played 21st Century Schziod Man.
Last- Dropkick Murphy’s with Rancid in September.
    Best- Rush and FM (1981)
Worst-Ratt (1985) Opened for Scorpions who were great.
Loudest-Van Halen (1981). I was up front for festival standing 20 feet from Edward.
Wished: Rush (1980). Permanent Waves was my first purchased and still favorite Rush album. Queen (1979) Live Killers.
Future: Devin Townsend. Wanna go with Nick somewhere in Europe. You pick a place Nick. I’m Irish/ Norwegian never been to Norway.
Most- Yes (15) and Rush (10)
Most surprised: Zappa Plays Zappa opened for Return To Forever (2008). Great show Dweezil and his band was amazing.

Great show which made me go back in time as well
First - Whitesnake / Ozzy Utrecht 1983 (where Ozzy pulled out last minute)
Last - The Laws Kill Destroy (Sarcofago tribute) 12 November The Hague
Next - who knows, all my upcoming shows just got cancelled Tokyo Blade 12 dec - Butcher/Vulture 18 dec and today Mangualde Hard Metal Fest 8 jan
Best - Impossible choice really: Dio/Queensryche Amsterdam, Marillion Fish years (many times), Psychotic Waltz Scum Riverdogs Melkweg, Savatage Scum
Best recent - Only two shows I ever promoted, when eighties heroes come to my home venue and stay overnight at my place Stampede 2017 and Heir Apparent 2019.
Most times - Marillion every tour in Holland when Fish was still in the band, then occasional shows, but also six weekends (in UK, Netherlands and Portugawhich means three nights per event
Worst - Bands at festivals I did not get: Powerwolf (why are they big?) Primus Dynamo Open Air 91
Loudest - Manowar - Paradiso Amsterdam (a hall that made even Giant, Kingdom Come and Magnum too loud) Manowar night was saved by first ever show of Fates Warning in Europe.
Surprising- Many bands at festivals either known before or not. Zero Hour, Serdce, In Mourning, Meyvn and too many to name
Would have loved to see- Mostly American bands that hardly played Europe Lethal, Fifth Angel, Warrior, Warlord, Exxplorer

Will try to be brief but here goes:
    1. First concert attended. Likely a classical concert as a youngster since dad played violin in the university orchestra and it was not uncommon for us to go hear them. Tom Petty, Bernie Leadon, Don Henley and a host of others grew up in my hometown and likely saw one of their bands at a local party or Keystone Beach weekly party. But the one I remember distinctly is seeing a Battle of The Bands over several days at the local high school and on the last day saw the original line-up of the Allman Brothers Band play and was wowed by what I saw, Unbelievably, they did not win the contest though this was months before their eponymous debut album. Two drummers, WTF was it. And they blew the roof off the place. The set list was not long but I seem to recall Mountain Jam being part of it. Unbelievable.
2 Last concert attended. Cher in November 2017 in Las Vegas. Took my sister for another farewell show by Cher. Entertaining.
    3. Best concert. Very, very tough call here but I'm going with Elton John in May 1971 at the Jacksonville, FL, coliseum on his first tour of America. Just the original trio. Knew I would enjoy this as a keyboard player and was really looking forward to it. But it changed my piano playing immediately and since then. Such energy for three guys. Listen to the live album 11/17/70 [or 17/11/70 for some] and you'll get a perfect sense of that concert.
    4. Worst concert. Another toughie but going to give it to Sly and the Family Stone at the Jacksonville coliseum. The only show I ever had front row tickets. The show itself was high energy by Sly Stone was known at the time for either being late or not showing. Oh, he showed up....but after hours of waiting.
    5. Loudest concert. Hands down it was Emerson, Lake and Palmer again at the Jacksonville coliseum on the Brain Salad Surgery tour. It might have been our seats but Emerson hit a particularly high and loud note and it was like an ice pick through my ears. My friend and I communicated on the 2 hour car trip home by literally yelling at each other at the top of voices and we could barely understand each other.
    6. Most shows. A tie between either Elton John or the Allman Brothers Band formally. But informally, probably Tom Petty in his various incarnations - the local bands he played in while he grew up here that I heard (including the original Mudcrutch) and several times while he was on tour.
    7. Surprising show. Again the Jacksonville Coliseum. October 1972 to see Ten Years After headlining. But the opening act was Edgar Winter's White Trash. Was completely unfamiliar with them prior to this show and they blew everyone away. Completely overshadowed the Ten Years After show - at least for me - and made me a long time Edgar Winter fan though I lost fanatic interest after The Edgar Winter Group broke up and a couple of his later solo albums
    8. Next show. Pat Metheny in Jacksonville, FL in February 2022.
    9. MIssed opportunity. Just a bit too young to see the Beatles or early Rolling Stones. Tried to get tickets for Led Zeppelin in Jacksonville but the tickets sold out so damn fast (and ticket buying and band news was entirely different than now), so regret not seeing that. But biggest voluntary regret was not going to see Alice Cooper on the Billion Dollar Babies tour in Jacksonville but had no money and was saving for a post high school graduation trip to Europe [which took effort at $0.50 per hour wages[.
Highly entertaining show everyone. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

First: A Norwegian folk metal band named Lumsk at Storåsfestivalen (my local festival) in 2004.
Last: Djevel and Beyond Man in Trondheim about a month ago. Superb.
Best: Vreid - Sognametal 20 year anniversary at Wacken in 2014 and Dimmu Borgir at Wacken in 2007. If you watch the DVD from that show, the Norwegian flag you see throughout the gig in the crowd is mine. Honorable mentions: Blind Guardian at Rockefeller, Oslo in 2016 and Satyricon with Snorre from Thorns and Culto from Darkthrone at the same venue in 2014. I could go on forever.
Worst: I really struggle remembering the bad ones. I do remember being let down by Iron Maiden in Oslo in 06 or 07, when they played A Matter of Life and Death in it's entirety. I know I've seen worse (probably warm-up bands), but I can't remember who.
Loudest: Either Motörhead at Sentrum Scene in Oslo or Napalm Death at Verkstedhallen in Trondheim
Most shows: Enslaved, Vreid or Dimmu. Seen them all around 6-7 times.
Surprising show: I had never heard Annihilator before I saw them at Wacken in 2013 and they blew me away.
Next: Might go see Mayhem and Cadaver in Trondheim on friday
Wish I had seen: Darkthrone, Windir, Ulver (their metal stuff), Dissection.
Missed opportunity: Heaven & Hell at Wacken. I didn't really pay attention to much other than black/extreme metal at the time and it didn't register with me that this was actually Black Sabbath, so I just continued drinking instead of going to the show.

The fact you were at Djevel and Beyond Man is fuckin amazing. Vreid, 20 year Sognametal gig!!!!!???????? You had the Norwegian flag up!??! DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Satyricon with Snorre!? I'm dying right now. You're my goddamn hero !!!!!

@@Ihatecensorship1 Haha, thanks man. Lumsks first record is so fucking good and they basically played it in it's entirety (I guess they did the same at your show as it was on the same album cycle). The singer (the bald guy in the I Lytinne Två-video) was selling it after their show and I got it signed by most of the band members as well. In case you missed it: They just announced on Facebook that they're back working on a new album!
Djevel is one of the best bands around these days. Tanker Som Rir Natten easily tops my list of favorite albums of 2021! Fucking masterpiece!
Getting to experience Svartesmeden og Lundamyrstrollet live was a dream come true. I've seen it twice after that as well and it's mindblowing every single time (2 out of 3 shows I watched during lockdown was Vreid shows. We had to fucking sit at a table during the show, but it was great still). When I ranked my top 100 albums on my insta, Arntor was number one. Oh, and Saknet is the best song ever recorded!!
I haven't attended as many shows or seen as many bands as any of you guys (not even close), but I guess it has some perks being a black metal fan in Norway haha. Seeing two Thorns songs performed live was surreal.
Oh, and thank you for always replying! It always feels good to talk good music with people, and there's not a soul where I live that's into this shit.

@@SardonicWrath Lumsk is a great band, I heard they started up again after a break. Remember being at nachspiels and listening to the Lumsk demo before the debut, cool that they made an impact. I know some of them. Espen (still in the band) and Ketil (Now "Goat the head" and "Corroder") and their first drummer Alf Helge (Now in "Adventure")

I would like to know how all Yous guys know each other? I love the shows you do. Listening to people that love music like I do. I’m in s jersey so we always went to Philly to see shows. Did go up to the Capital theatre in Passaic. And did go to L’Amour’s a few times. 80’s and all of the 90’s were the best shows for me. I’m 53 so was too young for 70’s shows.

First concert: Scorpions/Blackfoot, Hammersmith Odeon, 1980

Seen the most: Big Big Train (9)
    Loudest: Motörhead/Girlschool 1981
Best concert: Kate Bush, Hammersmith Odeon September 2014
Worst concert: 10cc, they were miming
Most surprising: probably the Eurythmics, Annie Lennox has an amazing voice

As you'll see, my list has a pattern💖💖
FIRST CONCERT: INXS Kick (June 1988) INXS was and still is my favorite band. Kick was and still is my favorite album. I was fifteen, had floor seats and a huge crush on Michael Hutchence😍
LAST CONCERT: INXS Elegantly (August 1997) Michael had a broken ankle. He came walking out w/a cane and sat on a stool for part of the show. It was the night before Princess Diana was killed and almost three months before Michael committed suicide.
BEST CONCERT: INXS Kick (See above) And they sounded great!
WORST CONCERT: U2 Pop Mart Tour (July 1997) I was going to skip it because I saw Zoo TV in 1992. But, I was in Boston for my roommate's wedding and one of my housemates had an extra ticket. So, I bought it from her and saw them at Foxborough Stadium. It wasn't awful but, it was less interesting and twice the price😒
LOUDEST CONCERT: INXS KICK (When my mom and I left the arena, we both couldn't hear for the first five minutes. Then our ears began to ring. Mom's ringing lasted a few hours. My ears rang for two days!
BAND I'VE SEEN THE MOST: Yep, INXS ladies and gentlemen. I saw them in 1988, 1994 and 1997.
MOST SURPRISING CONCERT: Sting Mercury Falling (August 1994) Lyle Lovett was his opening act. It was the one and only time I decided to skip the opening act. He turned out to be the best opening act I've seen yet, DAMN! I saw him perform two songs and he were great, DAMN AGAIN! He then did at least one duet w/Sting, maybe two? Sting was great also. It's my second favorite concert ever. I was also probably one of the youngest people there. I think the average age was about 35. I was 23.
NEXT CONCERT: I don't think there will be one anytime soon. Everyone I like is either over 70, retired or dead!
    CONCERTS I WISH I COULD'VE SEEN:
David Bowie (Glass Spider, 1987) I just think the world of Bowie. He was someone I'd hope to get around to, DAMN!
Michael Jackson (Bad, 1988) He kicked it off in Kansas City, where I grew-up. I totally could've gotten tickets because my mom's boss was friends w/someone who worked at Ticketmaster.)
Rolling Stones (Steel Wheels, 1989) I lived down the street from Arrowhead Stadium, where they were performing. My dad was in town and not a Stones fan to say the least, DAMN!)
Jimmy Page & Robert Plant (1995) I've seen their concerts from that tour on UA-cam and they're great. It might be bad for me to say but, I thought they were better than some of the Zeppelin shows. The Egyptian Orchestra they were performing w/does marvelous renditions of Four Sticks, a song I love, In The Evening and Kashmir, again songs I love. I'm jealous of the person who said it was their best concert, DAMN! I only started to get into Zeppelin in 2000 and have been a major fan for the past couple years.
P.S. I heard Ryan and Butch say they'd like to go to Australia. In 2008, I visited Melbourne and Sydney w/my mom. While I was in Sydney, I spent an evening at The Opera House. I got a guided tour, ate dinner at a restaurant overlooking The Harbour and saw Neil Sedaka afterwards. He not someone I'd seek out but, he was performing that night and it was a lot of fun. I also visited Michael Hutchence's Memorial. I just couldn't leave Sydney w/out visting him. I still love him to pieces even though he's been dead for over 20ys.

And, I'm w/you on Soundgarden. They're not for me. The only grunge albums I bought were Nevermind and the first two from Pearl Jam. I think the grunge scene was a little overrated. all so-cal shows:
    - first show (technically) testament at the green door 88 / 89. rode my bike past the club and stood outside listening.
    - best show: slayer 1991. the day the gulf war started. not really a fan but the show was insane.
    - seen the most: kiss on the 97 tour (2 times) mainly because they were free.
    - worst: poison in 89. i only went 'cause it was free and i wanted to see tesla (who didn't play)
    - surprising: tool at lollapalooza 97. mainly because it was the overall atmosphere. they had the clearest sound i've ever heard.
