Double pane is called laminated glass and is used for sound reduction.
I always roll the window (if laminated) up a bit and keep my wedge at least 2-3 inches from the edge.
One more tip if that tech gets these comments is to use a air pump wedge.
There about $20 through the dent tool companies but Harbor freight sells them for $6.
If you’ve ever noticed the hard small wedges can leave slight ripples in the outer weather strip, pump wedge eliminates this.
Love the “forever a student” comment. I’m a 28 year tech and still employ that attitude.
