This why I love this game's dialogue suddenly you stop seeing thoughts as thoughts and start seeing them as characters with their own strengths and flaws
Love if you fail a rhetoric skill check against Titus (the one you can pretend to play a fiddle) if you tell him that the options don´t seem good rhetoric insults you. After that in my playthrough Suggestion: why is Goldmouth mistreating him? Drama: Don´t know...chose the one with the fiddle, and if you already did do it again.
I love Volition. It actually has a few big failures (as in, to help Harry, not just rolls) in the game, such as when you're trying to pitch art exhibition titles to Mega Rich Light-Bending Guy. Volition is just too averse to bullshit to come up with good names and if you listen to it, you'll be rejected and miss out on big money. You need Conceptualization for that 😉
I always loved the "Oh MY GOD!" response option xD. It's just like... I'm half amnesiac, ALL I have to go on is you voices and the advice you give me... and you're telling me their all shit right now!?
*22:38* "Officer?" ... "Don't worry, it's only been four to five seconds" *22:48**, literally 10 minutes of silent staring later* "Miss, are you manipulating me?"
One aspect of the skill system that was so cool was that having super high points in one skill or another would accentuate the more negative qualities of that skill. there were a couple instances where having high encyclopedia just made harry into a know it all dick and it wasn’t helpful.
My conceptualisation was so high that when I tried to get the paintbrush from Cindy, my idea was too detailed and high concept that she didn’t want to give me the brush
After I finish this game I totally got to play It again in a more "unbalanced" way to see this stuff I'm on day 3 and my stats are... Well, I'm decent 3/4 at EVERYTHING excluding my boddy (but somehow I knocked measurehead with 2 points on phisyc)
@@nekole Oh. My. God. “The contact Mike *info dump*”??? Contact Mike is an inspiration. A 5000-1 underdog who won by sheer willpower alone. You downplaying how inspirational Contact Mike is says more about you than Encyclopedia says about him. You should try to be more like Contact Mike.

I love how volition is so convinced that it's right after this that it's almost compromised in the other direction. Being 100% sure that Klaasje lied about everything and that you should arrest her
I think volition is just trying to protect a wounded heart. The last time Harry trusted a wömen there was a lot of emotional damage being done. I think that's why it might be overprotective now.
@@excalibur2772 I mean, she didn't. If you turn her in, a high Shivers check, which never lies, heavily implies that she dies in custody, and she's objectively not guilty of the murder. She lied about some stuff, but not about being hunted.
@coolguyjki I mean obviously she told the truth at times but Volition isn't wrong in saying she essentially lied about everything about her identity. It's clear she is being hunted but "innocence" is a little much to just accept
@@excalibur2772 In all fairness, I don't think she's necessarily innocent either, but she's innocent of the crime we're investigating and that's what matters. But she was. My Authority, Drama, and Logic were all screaming at her saying **Arrest her** I only didn't because I felt that it was too soon to do anything. I wanted to explore more.
This and the conversation with the plain woman about her husband in her apartment are the 2 that pulled me in the most. And it’s because of these wonderful bumbling idiots in my head.
it was quite intriguing with full psyche and second full intelligence- suddenly, your most trusted skillset is telling you your second most trusted skillset is wrong in its ways?
I didn't actually try the Volition check, since my Drama was much higher. I passed that one and very quickly my entire mind and psyche was furious. Furious at Klaasaje. Furious at her lies. Furious that they believed her, and they wanted her nailed to the wall for her crimes. Then at the last moment Authority literally said "Let her go, she gave a really good tip. Plus, she's hot."
There is somekind of "mandela effect" that people think Volition is "Compromised in the other direction" when he is actually not, or they just mistake Volition with Drama? I literally played yesterday and when Drama loss his shit volition said "Relax, don´t try to overcompensate now, just ask questions", when its time to chose, Volition says "It is your choice, you sit at the crown of your mind" and I chose to not arrest her so Drama said "This will be a mistake sire" and Volition replied "Perhaps...perhaps not, mercy is never a complete mistake" the only "mistake" Volition makes is insinuating perhaps the part about making the call was a lie, which is a fair mistake since Klasjee basically give half truths about everything else. But what can you expect? most of the fandom could be compromised
Half Light urging against violence sold the voices as being compromised more than Electrochemistry did.
Lol at the drama check fail and the acknowledgement of it. So good. This game was a nightmare to program.
This why I love this game's dialogue suddenly you stop seeing thoughts as thoughts and start seeing them as characters with their own strengths and flaws
I've always described the "skills" as characters in your party. and the more points the more they speak up. good or bad.

i'm imagining Volition tying all the other skills to a couch like that scene in The Thing
At least Volition always got your back ✊
Volition is the Kim Kitsuragi in you. Motivation, Temperance, Self-Discipline.
