I rather see this as a rejection of the myth of meritocracy. If meritocracy was true, real world billionaires would need to be physics breaking crazy alien individuals for the amount of work they would need to put in for the amount of wealth they have accrued.
What's more interesting is that Kim is not subject to the distortion of light. Which means his ratio is smaller than 96% vs Kim, ergo Kim has an appreciable fraction of the wealth of the High Net-Worth Individual. Alternatively: The HNWI not actually that rich, which means Harry is just *abysmally* broke. Which is quite possible, considering his lack of cash and possibly several substantial debts.
I don't see any real reason to doubt his line about having a net worth of at least one billion, which would then mean that Kim has a net worth around forty thousand or more.
When you stand near him your net worth is almost 40 billion. Which implies he indeed has alot of reàl (money) and he also just hands you 100 reàl if you pass the check.
If you're doing the ultraliberal questline you can also gain the 'Net Worth' overlay on your taskbar, a liquid piece of stock given to you by the Light-Bending Guy.
If you speak with easy leo about him a medium inland empire check reveals this: ''You do realize he might be just a figment of your imagination, right?'' Tbh after the ridiculously high skill check and having everyone tell you that the contained probably was empty, it would had been great if the container was indeed empty.
not really, gameplay wise it would be a really bad choice and would leave the player more frustrated than amused. The investment a player has to make to actually get into the container, is way to big, for such a small pay off that is "look, haha, this container was really empty, you should have believed us, we are funny".
Don't they do a similar thing with the street lamp for sale in the pawn shop? It's very expensive, you have to save and scrounge for it all game, but the investment does nothing. You can't even carry it out of the shop with you because it's too heavy to lift.
I had two options, one being to come up with an investment plan that was certain to fail, the option had a low chance for success, so I figured that almost certainly failing at certainly failing might cancel each other out, and that's exactly what this game did. I love this game.
This is all incredible writing, but the absolute funniest part is the conceptualization check modifier "-2 Art degree useless." Sadly, it doesnt show up here. But another thing I love is you can propose a terrible investment on purpose, if you have enough rhetoric, i think?
The idea is just one you stole from Evrart. You can only suggest business ideas that you're familiar with, as going to the Haunted Commercial District gives you the radio game pitch. You need to get the signature paper before you can pitch the youth center
I somehow find the idea of this man just chilling in the container and it not being a figment of Harry's imagination even weirder than the light-bending stuff.
Suceeding the conceptualization check gives in a great price, but seeing Kim's dumbfouded reaction on every scenario Harry puts himself in is just priceless 😂😂😂
