I like how when Encyclopedia chimes in, Volition admits that you can trust him since Encyclopedia doesn't care about her at all and only cares about weird trivia.

@@Marcostron2 Same as everyone. You make do with what you have(in this case; the certainties) and hope for the best. Honestly, I thought that was a pretty big theme with Harrier's amnesia.
My favorite part of this is the very beginning Volition admits Klasse is beautiful… And immediately begins to warn you how every thought you have is compromised. I think he realized he was too, and decided to turn the whole gang in
Something of note about this check I found out during my drug addict, violent, fascist, physique/motorics play through was that if you pass this volition check but fail the logic/drama passive checks, volition wont really know how to react. He will lead into the checks expecting them to interject but then just goes... "oh... nothing?" and at the end reaction speed of all skills will say "just me swooshing around here... swoosh" Really makes you respect how much thought went into the game when there is such a unique backup for situations where you fail comically easy checks that are typically expected to pass.
Suggestion does so too earlier in the conversation with Klaasje too. If you specifically avoid asking if the Hardies may have lynched him partly out of jealousy, Suggestion will tell you "Don't be tactful. She doesn't care."
We rarely get to see the skills interact with each other. One missed opportunity (and there are so many) to flesh out Volition and Authorities relationship I could easy see them having Friend-Enemy relationship. Backing each other up against Klassje or Mr. Evart only to immediately butt head whenever authority acts insecure like when Authority freaked out at Acele or whenever Volition decides to back out of a tense situation.
Here (2:17) instead of Logic, I had Reaction Speed speaking bc I have chosen 1-4-2-5 build and it said something like: "There should be someone else, but here I am. Swoosh-swoosh." I was dead on the floor. Psyche-Motorics for life 💜💛
I love this because Volition seems the sane one, but it gets so offended it is convinced she's the bad guy and pushes you to overreact in the opposite direction.
I just watched my friend play through her interview I'm had to bite my tongue when she lied and drama cast to check and said that she wasn't lying. Both of us missed this dialog and it all makes sense now i feel so bad for him.
i 100% love volition, but i'm gonna be honest, i think he also was compromised, just not in the same way as the rest of them, he was very eager to go "everyone else is compromised, everything Klaasje says is a lie and she must go down" like, we later find out that Klaasje had indeed nothing to do with the murder, and the moralists end up killing her if you send her to jail. I gave her a ticked and told her to show up later, maybe The Return will happen and Revachol will be free, then she can be tried there. That was a better resolution in my opinion.
@@fd7reel103 not all, she does help you to find the killer at the end, and she could have just went with the hardie boys story that lely raped her and then you would have been forced to just accept it, they had audio proof of lely saying that he wanted to rape Klaasje, she literally just had to say "yes, he raped me" and that would be it, instead she went against every argument the hardie boys threw at you, she also made the call about the hanged man, why would she do that? it only served to incriminate her. She's a very complex character, but in the end she had no nefarious intentions, and she didn't deserve to be killed because of what she did.

@@fd7reel103 well yeah, of course she only did all of that to benefit her survival. But i'm gonna have to disagree on the rest, i personally don't see the case moving forward if Klaasje had lied and said "yes he raped me" at that point the only piece of evidence is the bullet, and it's not much to go for if the motive is proven, in this case, the motive for the killing would make sense since Titus is acting as a vigilante, of course he would kill a rapist, again, i understand Volition and yeah of course she lied, but i still think that it's dumb to arrest her, she does help you at the end, and we know she had nothing to di with the murder.
@@fall-from-grace1008but you cant leave a case with unanswered questions. when your captain asks you "what is this bullet then? or where did they shoot him from" you cant just say "ehm not important they said they hung the guy". Also her selfishness killed the hardies and those people as well. she might not have did the murder but by trying to covering up she made it worse. Because krenel got mad at the wrong people and killed other innocents. Which also could have been solved if she was honest enough to give us that clue early on instead of lying again so we could go to the island and solve the case before it turned into a bloodbath. I understand that he doing things for survival is understandable but that doesnt make it ok. other's didnt care about their own survival to protect their own. Hardie's understood that krenel would come back to bite them in tha ass but still helped her anyway.
This was the moment I knew this game was special. Only passed the check on my second playthrough. It also solidified that volition is the only part of you you can completely trust. In all of Harry's drunken brain damaged emotional trauma, there is still a nugget of clarity hidden within, that thing which makes him the greatest detective ever. Also, Klaasje is probably one of my favourite characters in the game. Talk about plans going to shit.
Logic was right in hindsight, but you can tell that it is being overly generous in her favor - stating quickly that her past has nothing to do with the case and assuming it's nothing truly insidious. It ends up being correct but isn't really the logical assumption to make.
Might as well assume considering like 60% of your brain is comprimised, If you can't trust yourself due to your head being all fucky then might as well listen to the voice that is actually concerned for you and urges you to be aware.
Logic is factually correct but way too quick to assume her motives are good. (The "nothing truly insidious" line is him jumping to her defense.) The social and physical skills are totally blinkered, the mental ones are still halfway there.
