So I've watched alot of reactions to this and you are the first to come up with the idea that Ed may also have burned down the house as a sort of "F you" to his dad, and it's something I personally have never considered. Or the idea of "how could they live in the house where that happened?" Great stuff. While I don't think it was intentional on Ed's part, I can't help but wonder if there was a subconcious thing going on there. Love the reactions.

Well, from that little flash back in episode 2, seems like Ed has a huge resentement against their father, not so much Al.
You are going to LOVE Winry. Best girl of the series and that's saying a lot with the amount of amazing females there are in this series.
