People who only see snippets of Horimiya on UA-cam that show Hori being "abusive" to Miyamura get annoyed and call her a "big red flag." But if you've seen the show up to this point, you'll know why she has quite an attitude. Her parents were hardly around and she had to care for herself, Sota, their house, and her parents when they arrive from work. She's overworked from her academics and her student council duties. Miyamura isn't exactly the perfect boyfriend either despite being an ideal guy. She has serious abandonment issues and couldn't enjoy being a carefree teen because of all of her responsibilities. But later on it will be shown that she is actually very aware of her flaws - to the point of insecurity. Thankfully, as Hori exposes more and more of her vulnerability, Miyamura is also beginning to step up more and more himself. They really do complement each other.

To be fair the anime doesn't give saitou justice. This dude thought of Ai has his own daughter. he wanted to drink with her one week before the dome concert, when she died She became 20 And so he drinked alone the morizo he was suppose to share with Ai (Even pouring another drink for her "soul" that he will not drink at all) and to be fair. In the anime that's the last time you hear about him compared to in the manga when you know what he became. And that stuff hurts a lot.

I saw this series just three days ago and it broke me hard and I don't cry so easily but this series did and it made me think of the movie A Walk To Remember

I don't know what the kids in the same grade felt and how they understood it. The teacher did not ask us to write a movie report, nor did he ask us to discuss our impressions of the movie with everyone else. As was the case when we saw Princess Mononoke, I guess we were free to our individual interpretations. We also watched Home Alone 3 together. I watched "Grave of the Fireflies" over and over again until I got tired of watching the recorded video. I felt the closed world of just the two of them quite a lot... It was also my favorite of Takahata's works.
