High Blood Pressure & Acid Reflux

- I'm often asked about "out of control" blood pressure that is not responding to medication. "Refractory" high blood pressure means that it is not controlled, even with 5 or more medication.
Could the root cause be your stomach, acid reflux in particular?
Yes. A study from 2018 from the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, looked at the Role of Reflux in Provoking High Blood Pressure.
Patients with GERD (reflux) had higher nocturnal (at night) blood pressure when compared to those patients not suffering with GERD.
Antacids helped lower the blood pressure, proving the association.
The researchers summarized that there was "Significant correlation between high blood pressure and GERD."
So just take your antacid, right? NO!!! Not so fast.
Remember what we know about long-term use of antacids and PPI drugs. First PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) were only approved for a use of two weeks. Meanwhile patients are regularly taking them for months, years and even decades.
What's the problem?
PPIS do the following:
RAISE blood pressure and risk for heart disease and stroke
Increase dementia risk
Causes malabsorption and maldigestion
Increases infection rate
Reduce gall bladder function
Leads to erectile dysfunction (male and female)
Increased risk of osteoporosis
Increased risk of chronic kidney disease
Thus there are many reasons to avoid PPIs and instead find out the root cause of your reflux. This isn't hard to do and we specialize in it. The treatment is completely natural.

My stomach health has been a wreck for years and guess what. Acid reflux, hbp and palpitations
Carbohydrates are the enemy
Yep. Me too
Hbp is caused mostly by high insulin levels from eating carbohydrates!!👍
Interesting
I agree.
I have this, what can I do to heal my high bloodpressure and Gerd.
