I had a Nissen fundoplication 35 years ago. Back in the days when they cut you open with a 9 inch cut down the middle....in those days it was an 8 day stay in hospital...35 years later it is still working perfectly. Best decision I ever made...thank you for sharing your story.x
Glad to read that it has lasted so long. I'm a 65 Y.O. and soon to have the surgery (with a top surgeon) and hope to have it last the rest of my life. Are you able to burp and vomit Antony?
Hi... I am sure the operation will last you for the rest of your life. I am 63 now and I was 28 when I had mine...yours will probably be easier as they do it laprascopic ...I can burp fine but I've not been sick since before my operation...plus your on blended food for a few weeks until it settles...I wish you luck. Let me know how it goes. T
@@antonybbb Hey thanks for getting back to me Antony. I really appreciate you replying so quickly. You've given me the inspiration to get the procedure done A.S.A.P. It worked really well for you and that's great. I'll let you know how my procedure goes. Thanks again for your support. Cheers, Sean.
@@antonybbb Thanks again Antony. I really appreciate your support. I have a hiatal hernia which needs repair as well however I'm not worried. Regards, Sean.
My mom had this surgery plus they had to remove a portion of her stomach because she had really bad adhesions that they had to scrape for 6 hours. She had a couple of issues afterwards with her esophagus being too narrow so they had to go back down and stretch it. She’s been doing fairly well; this was probably 20 years ago. I think I’m having the opposite problem of my esophagus not opening so the food can enter my stomach. I had a Barium swallow that showed mild Presbyesophagus which is abnormal peristalsis due to the nerves not functioning properly. My didn’t detect any significant reflux changes which is good but my stomach feels nasty all the time and my stomach sticks out right below my sternum. I have this annoying gurgling that comes out of my mouth every time I even swallow my saliva and you can actually hear it if you’re close enough to me. I found a gastroenterologist closer to my home that I’m going to go see and maybe they can figure it out. I have to stop eating or eat very lightly for several days when this gets really bad as that’s been the only thing that seems to help. When your digestion is messed up, it’s really depressing. I’m worried that whatever it is has gone on too long and there could be permanent damage that can’t be reversed. I also have Fibromyalgia and so everything gets thrown under that label. I had a ruptured Appendix 5 years ago and a Cholecystectomy with post operative hemorrhage so I could also have adhesions that could be causing a stricture. I don’t know what to think anymore. I took Prilosec for a while but it didn’t do anything which leads me to believe that my issue is more anatomical versus actual GERD. My sister told me her friend was diagnosed with stomach cancer er after being on those pills for 20 years so please be care if you game that medication. I thought it was supposed to be a short term thing to take but what do I know.
@@zaqwanbadli9697no I genuinely think the surgery saved my life. I was taking pills for 20 years, I even had calcification scars on my lungs due the acid reflux at night. Since I had the surgery, no acid reflux, no medication at all, no burping every 20 seconds, clear nose without congestion’s, even the supposed IBS and inflamación of the instentines GONE. Yes the surgery is tough, but if is done by a good doctor is seriously life changing. Good luck
I am with you girl! After 8 year of all you went through. I too! I had a hernia coming out of the top of stomach. I am 3 months out now. Still on soft foods. More test .now having another scope.
damn I am so proud of you for doing your research and advocating for yourself! it's so admirable when patients take their health into their own health an are like "look, this is what I want. I did my research, I did all the conservative measures, this isn't working for me anymore". I'm so glad you found a great surgeon!
I've gone to so many worthless gasterenologists and have done all of the tests known to man and I've got a large hiatal hernia and because my autism diagnosis is on my medical records no Dr takes me seriously. Plus I was told it was acid reflux and it wasn't. I'm very angry with how I'm being treated. Self-advocatcy doesn't always work.
Thank you for sharing your story. I am here 5 days out from my hiatal hernia repair and Tiff procedure. I have been on acid reflux medications for over 20 years and recently went to the ear, nose and throat doctor because I had a scratch of sorts. I guess like an ulcer in my throat and he said that it appeared to be from acid burns. He sent me to the gastro doctor and he did a upper endoscopy procedure and said that he could see where I was having some erosion from the stomach acid. I also found out that the anti -acid types of medication like pantoprazole nexium omeprazole are not intended to be long-term drugs so the goal was to have me off of those. He recommended the tip procedure because it actually reformed the passageway that keeps the acid in the stomach and not flowing back into the esophagus or throat area. After the procedure, I can say that the most painful part is the laparoscopic incisions from the hiatal hernia repair. They are very tender and I too needed to make sure that I had something across my stomach at times to move. So I started to use one of my weight loss body wraps because that's all that I had at home. I wasn't recommended ahead of time to get any kind of wrap to support my stomach. Like you said, it is very painful to laugh after this procedure not because of the esophagus but because of the surgical cuts for the laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair. The gas from the laparoscopic procedure is awful . My throat has been tender because the machine used to go down the throat obviously irritated it. I am still having a dull ache on the left side of my throat and like you said I had a very bad pain on the left side of the back of my neck. I will make sure to ask the doctor why that is. After the procedure, I had esophageal spasms frequently for the first 3 days fortunate for me they only lasted one to three seconds, but those one to three seconds were very intense and would stop you in your track our conversation. I wish I had known about the liquid hydrocodone. I would have requested that instead of the pills, however, I only took them for the first two to three days because they constipate me so bad and my digestive system has never been the best. I received diazepam what they consider a Valium to help with the esophageal spasms. It also helped me to sleep and relax so that was very helpful. I am on a 6 week liquid diet where I will only be able to have soft mush foods like potatoes by weeks five and six. The reason I like the tiff procedure was because it is incisionless. There is no cutting of the esophagus. It's basically stretching in folding with a clamp to keep that fold in place. I have not had a hard time swallowing things but do need to Make sure that the things I am eating are very thinned out. I am praying that this procedure will fix my gastro issues!.
Hey Robin..thanks a lot for sharing your experiences. Can you plz share how are you feeling now and did your surgery help you. Are you happy with the result of the surgery.

I was on pantoprazole for over 5 years due to a hiatal hernia/gerd. Back in March I realized it was causing my irregular heartbeat/palpitations/chest pains so I stopped it. The gerd has gotten so bad I can barely eat without getting nauseous sometimes even throwing up. Swallowing has become incredibly difficult and I am actually losing my sense of taste due to the acid damaging my mouth so I am finally having this done. I am really just nervous about the post op and recovery. This video was very helping thank you.
The hiatal hernia is causing my reflux which triggered my irregular heartbeat. That was before I started taking pantoprazole. I hope you are doing better
My 2 Yr old daughter had this last week and before it I was so scared..glad the surgery went well and the post op was smooth..day 9 today..itching on the scar is what I have noticed
I’m been taking Omperazole and many others for nearly 15 years. A CT was done for others reasons and that’s when they found a small hiatal hernia. I had an ALIF done in 2012, and there’s a small umbilical hernia but not bad, u will see if the doctors I’ll fix that. I was leaning towards the Nissen , then I watched a few videos of the TIF , I don’t want to be bloated, etc.., being a nurse we are our own worse critics but I do want to make sure I choose the best one and would love to finally stop taking PPI’s!!!! I’m sure most of us here want the same? Tyvm for your video.
I watched Dr. William Barnes MD and he was very incite-full of the Nissen and TIF, I was leaning towards the Nissen until he told me in his 30 plus years of GERD operations 70% aren’t happy with the outcomes. There’s no belching/expulsions gas. The Tif is making me wonder if you can still get GERD? I will continue researching, but I do know I need to weigh risk over reward. Personally speaking PPI’s, have wreaked my body to the absolute core. I still advocate to whom will listen to steer clear.
15 years is a long time for PPIs. I'm surprised all they found is a small hiatal hernia if you've been dealing with acid reflux for that long. I've been taking PPIs for about 12 years. But about 3 years ago I started halving them and they still worked for me. Did you go through with the Tif?
My Laparoscopic hernia repair with Fundiplication is scheduled for three hours but about half my stomach is in my chest. Considering each of my knee replacements only took about 90 minutes. Three hours is a long operation, especially for what is considered elective surgery in my country. The surgeon will be using dissolvable mesh so I expect that will take longer stitching in place. I have had many, many surgeries and I am not looking forward to this one at all. My first arthroscopy on both knees at once had the worse pre op affect on me. Having pain in both legs at the same time was the worse thoughts. The thought, the night before, actually sent my entire body into spasms, I had to give in and go to bed in order to get through to the next day. It is amazing what the body can cope with. I do know with Laparoscopic gas, moving around helps to dissipation the gas. My first one, I honestly thought I was having a heart attack the first night after surgery. Laparoscooies were relatively new back in the late 70s and patient education wasn't like it is today. Also we are benefitting from hearing first hand, patient accounts, so thank you, you have been a big help in helping me to prepare mentally for this challenge.
Just had this done 2 1/2 weeks ago and the abdomen pain was the absolute worst part. Spent 2 nights sleeping on my left side as everytime id try to go on my right, immediate spasms. Pillow didn’t help at all for me. Made it worse. Finally that Saturday night I was able to turn on my right side with minimal pain and spasm.

I’m getting ready for this surgery, I’m on the wait list but just have to get a cut scan and manometry test first. I’ve had acid reflux for 30 years! 30! Was on meds for 25 of those years. It wasn’t until I started getting food lodged in my esophagus that I went back to the doctor. I was sent in for 2 scope tests and it was Barrett’s and high risk for cancer. Hoping this surgery gets done and over with before winter. I’m taking ALL your advice for recovery, there is even a belly support in my store maternity section that I’m going to buy for this. I’m so glad you made these videos
Omg 😳. So I’m 46 years old and suddenly on Friday a wisdom tooth decided to make an appearance and it’s impacted, which means it needs to be pulled at least 2 weeks before my fundoplication surgery. I found a place 2 hours away from home that had a cancellation for TOMORROW! 😳. My fundoplication is potentially the first week of December
@@hypsue I'm 43 and have had gerd for about 22 years. Never had an endoscopy but finally getting one soon. My question is did they remove/abalat the barrets tissue first before the nissen? I imagine that takes priority since you're at risk for cancer. And did you finally go through with the nissen? I hope you're doing better.
@@realgold8290 I had my surgery on December 30th 2021. 3 days in hospital, on a feeding tube and all the other bells and whistles of tubes in me. It was a painful recovery but I was back to work on extremely light labour after 2 weeks, and by choice as I’m self employed, so o could t afford to stay home for 6 weeks. The starvation diet was 6 weeks though and I was down 12 lbs. You can’t remove the Barrett’s as that is weakened skin lining . The risk of cancer doesn’t change after surgery due to the fact that the lining is still weak, it just doesn’t get worse providing you don’t smoke and your careful with alcohol intake. what the surgery does is creates a new sphincter with your stomach so the acid doesn’t rise back up. I also had the hernia repair. I that 6 weeks recovery my mom flew down to help and my dog passed away just a week after my mom left. I would go through all that pain again just to replay those 6 weeks with them both here.
@@twiceuponatime886 sorry to hear about your dog. Mine passed away during the height of the pandemic. It was rough too. Sounds like it was a very long process for you. We're you concerned about the weight loss because that's a lot of weight to lose in a short time or did your doctor warn you that would happen. I imagine by starvation diet you mean you mostly on liquids for 6 weeks. I don't know if I could go through that. People usually only do juice cleanse or a detox for one or two weeks and say it's pretty tough, so I can't imagine 6 weeks. You say you were back to work within 2 weeks. But we're you still in a lot pain at that point? And are you a drinker/smoker? I've barely touched either in the past 5 years just because every time I smoked or drank alcohol, I felt sick. I'm mostly worried about bloat worsening. I heard for some people after the nissen because they can't release gas by burping that becomes more significant and my stomach pain from bloating is already an 8 or 9 sometimes. I have to eat really small meals and graze just to keep it from happening regularly. Well it's been 3 and half months. I hope your quality of life has gone up since then. Hernias can cause a lot of pain and I'm sure having no reflux is a god send. I just have to get the nerve up to do it too.
Thank you for sharing with us! I am having a laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication tomorrow and am staying overnight in the hospital one or two nights. I have a hiatal hernia going through my diaphragm so that will get repaired too. I hope I can still burp.
Chelily I read on the internet that GERD causes enamel erosion on the teeth. Do you have teeth issues? I’m curious about your experience because I have acid reflux too.
I had a hiatel hernia since I was fifteen years old, 69y.o now. My issue was my entire stomach was above my diaphragm. I ended up having surgery with a toupet procedure. So far so good. Eight months before I was told by the first gastric dr, "we treat the hiatel hernia, GERD, with medication. PPI have many side effects.
Having the Nissen down this tues and everything you said describes what I have been going through and I mean everything!. The weight gain the doctors dragging me around, the PPIs and asking about the other procedures...you name it. Thanks for the video. How are you now at this point in time
I have just come out of Hospital after waiting for over 8 years for a Hiatus Hernia Operation. Wrote to numerous People and Politicians in Dublin . Now hopefully, I am on the Road to Recovery.
Has the surgery helped your anxiety? I have been recently diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and the way I found out was because the reflux was causing irregular heartbeat. Went to see a cardiologist first for it and then a gastroenterologist who found the hernia through endoscopy. I’ve been having panic attacks for a month now. It’s debilitating
I’ve had a hiatal hernia for years. I’m a 30m and I’ve had ectopic beats and anxiety. I think the ectopics related to my GERD. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble too. I don’t now how to fix this. Hopefully you find relief!
Ive been on omeprazole for 20+ years. Im doing a 24 hour ph test. Ive had gerd for a long time. We’re trying to do this for a case for insurance to cover this procedure.
I had this surgery in 2005 after going through extensive testing and medicine trying before they would do my surgery because of how invasive it is and the changes it involves. I suffered for 8 years with acid reflux. Meds would help for awhile then stop working. Long story short the last thing they did before agreeing the nissan was i had to have tubes inserted down my throat and wear this monitor for 24 hours to see how much acid episodes i had in a 24 hour period. The results were after 24 hours I had acid reflux 23 hours 28 minutes even when i didn't feel it!! I would have the surgery again even though I no longer can throw up and still get choked when eating certain things or certain times.
I am one month in. After all, this surgery just started trying a little heavier food like mashed potatoes. None of this surgery helped. I am right back to heartburn🔥😭
I’ve been sticking to a strict diet since my last episode with gerd. Gerd can get so bad that it just feels like your choking and having trouble swallowing for hours and sometimes days it seems. If your able to avoid surgery, stick to the medication and a diet! A lot of us say we try to diet but trying isn’t enough, you must stick with it. You have cheat days where you feel like your gerd feels good enough that you can sneak that fatty food, then reality hits that you still have gerd. Just stick to the diet, I eat chicken (never fried), fruits, vegetables, fish, oatmeal’s, that’s it. No coffee, no teas, no sodas, none of that crap, and especially NO fast food 🤷♂️ all the FDA approved garbage in those foods are no good for you. Anyways, some of us can’t avoid surgery so that may be the route to go. For now, if you just have gerd symptoms that are bearable, stick to the diet, meds and you should be alright. That’s what I’m trying.
Would love to see another video! I’m trying to decide between Linx or Nissen! I have to go through one more test before I know for sure, but my surgeon gave me those two options to start looking into!
Before surgery, change your diet. Surgical options should only be a last ditch solution and they don't offen work for silent reflux. I know because I had one.
Having this done next week and I've lost count how many times I've paused this video to write done things you've covered. This is great! Thanks for taking the time to make this and helping so many! Had back surgery 7 yrs ago and am planning on pulling my back brace out of the closet to pack up for the hospital. Hope it goes as good as yours did. But 3hrs? Sheesh. Never thought it'd be that long?!
After 5 endoscopy’s in 3 years and trying every medication there is even one from Japan 😂 I’m finally getting this surgery!’ I’m really hoping this works and helps cause this is just miserable feeling bloated, couldn’t eat without feeling miserable the rest of the day, and regurgitating in my sleep constantly. I’m getting the Nissan fundoplicstion and they’re removing my hiatal hernia in 2 weeks.

I am suffering quite a bit with throat clearing. I haven’t been following my meds perfectly but they aren’t a cure. I would really like to have this surgery if it makes a difference. I worry it’s something more in the stomach in my case maybe the lining? But did you have throat clearing prior to surgery?
Thank you for sharing your experience. Hope, you are doing well with no PPI drugs. Now that 5 years have passed, curious to know how you are feeling now. Asking because I am scheduled to go through the same surgery in about a month.
Hey really stoked for you and your results!! Did you have any reasons why you didn’t do the LINX device? Sorry if you cover it in the video, but I don’t think I heard anything about it.
Thank you sincerely; my stomach feels as it did when I was 14 years old-completely issue-free, even though my GERD was severe before the surgery. I knew right away, just five minutes after the surgery, that it was successful. They told me it was the doctor's orders to eat, and they served me soup with lemon sorbet. I questioned the nurse… are you crazy!….wondering if it was a good idea, fearing the acid reflux will come out trough my nose after that meal….But the nurse reassured me, reminding me of the reason behind the surgery. So, I ate it, and to my amazement, I had 0 indigestion. Almost cry after my first meal, immediately knew I made the right decision.

Hello Alissa now almost more than one years since you hade surgery. How your life now ? Surgery work perfect? Thanks .please say me some thing scar to go under this procedure
I just go dx with a hiatal hernia..after 4 weeks of hell . I thought it was anaphylactic shock because my throat felt like i was closing. I felt like i was choking, ER doctors had audacity to say it was physiological. Then on the 2nd week i couldnt swallow anymore. I finally got to see the ENT and she said my throat was very swollen and red .Do you happen to know why GERD/HIATAL HERNIA cause DYSPHAGIA? Mines has been really bad for these past 2 weeks i can only eat liquids and mashed foods. I had my endoscopy yesterday and waiting to see my doc next week to know what the plan will be. I saw my allergist last week he immediately knew my throat was inflamed by acid reflux.

I had my Nissen Fundoplication 5 years ago.
Best thing I ever done!! I wasted 15 years of my life with reflux.
I only wish I had done it much sooner!
How are you now? Do you have gas problems?
Did u battle with constipation issues?
Did you suffer with bad breath???

How did it go?
I was on pantoprazole for over 5 years due to a hiatal hernia/gerd. Back in March I realized it was causing my irregular heartbeat/palpitations/chest pains so I stopped it. The gerd has gotten so bad I can barely eat without getting nauseous sometimes even throwing up.

Oh no I’m sorry why ?
Sorry to hear that but thank you for sharing. Considering it due to my acid reflux after gastric sleeve.
Is herbal tea okay? Like ginger, camomile tea, etc
Thank you for sharing this story. I'll be going thru with this procedure soon 💜
Would love to see another video! I’m trying to decide between Linx or Nissen! I have to go through one more test before I know for sure, but my surgeon gave me those two options to start looking into!
Just posted an update!
How much linx surgery cost???
Before surgery, change your diet. Surgical options should only be a last ditch solution and they don't offen work for silent reflux. I know because I had one.
Insurance didn’t cover Lynx,,
@@c.golden8280 Did you have surgery? How to cure silent reflux ??
I really appreciate you uploading this. I think I'm on the same track. At the very least, it'll be a hiatal hernia surgery.
iam also suffring from a hiatal hernia and it has me in a wheelchair and finally iam going to see a surgeon because it hurts really bad when i drink and when i eat hurt more
I feel the same
Hi. Had my Repair done 3years ago now. Great result, no more reflux and more importantly changed my eating habits. Smaller meals, grazing rather than three meals a day. Lost 18kgs too
Anyone with breathing issues ?im choking from acid ..i gave up hope already?
@@aldoaldi2613 I have same problem by last 7 to 8 years. Had hiatus hernia before. But it's gone by itself. But over the years my problem is getting worse and worsen. Symptoms that I Am dealing in daily life is wired and stressful. Here are some
1. Shortness of breath all the time. Never go away
2. Urge to eat all the time. Full stomach gave some relief.
3. So confused and stressed all the time.
Many more.
4. Too much unmotivated.

Hi Alissa thanks for the vids it's great to hear all this helpful info. Booked in next month and looking forward to it.

I got nissen fundoplication done on 1st of may and was fine until this week now I’m getting gord symptoms back it’s crap.
3 years ago 2021 I had a TIF and also a wrap. 3 years later I still had the worst burning in my throat. I did some more tests and turns out the acid level is double what it is supposed to be. The 2 recoveries are completely different. I could actually eat and drink after the TIF however as I started to eat food I would choke and then throw up. Today is day 2 after surgery. My throat burns even worse now. Every time I eat/ drink I feel as though I am going to throw up. My doc says recovery could take 6 to 8 weeks. How long was yours? I wonder how long it will be before my throat stops burning.
Hi I have a hiatal hernia possibly for my h-pylori infection it's to the point where if I eat I get pressure in my chest especially when sitting. Constant burping, nausea, possible barrets, non-obstructive schatzi ring. I've had a Holter monitor done and I get a bunch of PVCs and extra heart beats, I believe are associated with the hernia because they both started at the same time. I also been having a circulation issue, fingers from second knuckle moving up are white when fingers are extended and have been for months however they are slightly less now after getting rid of the bacteria so idk if it's still inflammation. It''s also affecting my vagus nerve my emotions are all over the place anytime I feel any type of emotion I get a fast heart rate and PVCs I hope they fix it. I can't even be aroused because the same issue. Could be hormonal. It's affecting my quality of life immensely.
damn i thought so cause i feel like i got hiatal hernia from h pylori also- and i was taken a little longer to find out!
This thing is not about being over weight or having obesity. I’m slim as the most slimmest person you’ve ever seen. I’m like Naomi Campbell the model and I don’t know how to deal with haital hernia😢
I have the same surgery coming up on Dec 27, 2023. No fear
I hope I can do this. I’m so nervous about it
You got this. Such a frightening surgery based on reviews on the web. 1) get the proper testing. 2) get the proper bariatric surgeon that does this several times/week. 3) follow the soft diet. You do those 3 things and you will heal and live a long, healthy, normal life. Don't listen to the nonsense out there. This surgery is absolutely life changing in a good way. No more drugs, pain, lack of sleep.
I have been pretty worried about this... I just tried to quit my PPI and failed. My whole life became about managing heartburn with fistfuls of gaviscon. I am considering this.
I wonder how are you doing two years later post op with the hiatial hernia Nissan surgery repair.
had mine done yesterday, i feel so terrible
Thank you for sharing your experience
Exactly two weeks from today I'll have this tipe of surgery.
I hope everything goes well and I'll be pain, acid reflux and discomfort free.
How long after surgery until you can not only workout but do core workout and abdomen exercises? Just curious about the recovery timing
Thanks for sharing. I have surgery tomorrow morning.
I've had a hiatal hernia for forty years. Medications for reflux are no longer effective. I now can only eat liquids as solid foods cause me pain at the location of the hernia. I also have reflux which has caused strictures in my esophagus that need ballooned every other year. It sounds weird, but i hope they recommend this surgery to me.

Hi! How are you now?
i just had Fundoaplication surgery last wednesday, 12th June 2024.. my story is exactly like yours. been suffering for 2 years, with ongoing medications (ome, panto, nexium.. etc2 u name em) and none works for me n i decided to go for a surgery… and yeah now im in the recovery phase. Hope it ends well.
How r you now?

I was told about 2 surgery and one procedure the Tif i have decided the Tif is better for me I read that 40% of people that get the lenx problems return the Tif is where they go inside the mouth and not the stomach so no pain afterwards
I suffer from Achalasia an I have severe beltching an I'm seeing Hital Hernia surgeon on Sept 14,2024. My hernia is
A grade 4 ..
My esophagus sphincter didn’t work.So surgery was the only thing to correct my issue. Review your doctor, look up patient reviews, etc. It comes down to educating yourself and finding a doctor you trust. The Nissen is an extremely common general surgery but not every surgeon specializes in it. My surgeon specializes in gastro surgery’s and i felt confident in them. Best decision iv ever made
How long have you been on the PPI pills?
I’m Getting the niessen in a few weeks. I have barrets, h pylori, hiatal hernia and chronic esphogitis. Did you have IBS symptoms before your surgery, if so do you still have IBS symptoms? Also have been losing a ton of unexplained weight. Thanks for the video and you look great btw. Hope your well.
Hey Brian it's been 4 months just wondering how your niessen went and if you're doing better? Did they fix your hiatal hernia as well or do something about the barrets? How long have you been dealing with GERD?
Im having it in w weeks. I have Barrets, hiatal hernia, have also lost a ton of weight, probably due to the regurgitation and being scared to eat because of the chest pains

The wrap will not last longer than 15 years even if a good surgeons skills. You can’t vomit.Burping is not possible with nissen. You can get just little burps but not satisfying burps on toupet fondplication. No gym forget about it for rest of your life. No running. Eating is all okay except not fullfill your stomach.
If your surgeon is pro and you follow all the thing i mentioned above your wrap will last max 15 years if your are also lucky. Be ready to fail your wrap after 10 years.

I’m fed up with my GORD as well. I want to have N. Fundoplication too. I just wanted to live a more normal life and be able to eat whatever I want without repercussions.
Hi some to me
Has any1 had ttoubke with sinus issues i mean sneezing for 300 times a day i hear acid can creep up and irritate
My symptoms are I can’t stop burping for 6 months now and have acid coming up so now know my medicine isn’t working anymore so did you have a lot of burping before your surgery?
I am suffering quite a bit with throat clearing. I haven’t been following my meds perfectly but they aren’t a cure. I would really like to have this surgery if it makes a difference. I worry it’s something more in the stomach in my case maybe the lining? But did you have throat clearing prior to surgery?
All the acid blockers can cause osteoporosis.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Hope, you are doing well with no PPI drugs. Now that 5 years have passed, curious to know how you are feeling now. Asking because I am scheduled to go through the same surgery in about a month.

I am felling amazing. I have 0 reflux and I can eat anything I want. Absolutely nothing upsets my stomach. Best decision I ever made.
So glad you are free GERD did you have side affect from surgery
Because for some people has sudd affect

I have hiatal hernia and possibly lpr. I also have inflamed throat caused by burning sensation mostly caused by pepsin I believe.
