I bought this dip powder (velvet overdrive) and it is so pretty it’s like a grape lollipop type of color super gorgeous it’s one of my go to colors ❤I must buy more of this color in bulk because I love it so much I don’t ever want to run out of it 😊
The conversion base and top coat is such a great idea. I previously tried dip and hated the glue, resiny fumes and messiness of dip powder. This I can get behind! So glad to try it instead!

I can really tell a difference between using it with gel as apposed to resin. In my opinion gel has a seamless beautiful look. Very nice, and my preference by far.
I would like to see Tracey set up a brand new mail station for a new nail tech using your products & anything else like a cart/storage. What about you guys create a nail station for sale the whole shot or company with like IKEA or who ever. As for as I can see no one else overs a new setup for nail techs.

Some tips and tricks on applying the glitter slickpours WOULD be amazing! I’ve tried with the new slickpour glitters and it just does not come out the same especially with “spiritual steamer” 😔
Are you able to do fills on nails like this, or do you remove them and do them over like most places do with dip? My salon does something similar but we use a sheer pink powder with gel color over the top, and we do fills...just wondering if it's possible to use the colored powders and still do fills to avoid the soaking off every time!!

If Swipe is used sparingly and not over-scrubbing the nail, it can be used. If you are concerned about over-using it, we would recommend ManiQ Cleanse instead.
If you are using conversion with slickpour, you can file down to the base gel layer and then prep from there. The product still on the nail will help to strengthen it.
Slickpour with conversion is a bit more flexible than using slickpour with resin. I would say it's stronger than gel polish on the natural nails though.
Yes, when you are using glitters, it's best to cap them with clear (Under the Radar) so you don't file out the color or design. If you don't need to file the nails though, you wouldn't need to cap in clear.
Just make sure to file the surface of your Slick Pour application with a 150 grit file to smooth/shape, dust off and apply a coat of Protein Bond. Then you can go right to your gel polish color, no base coat needed.
So I have tried this method exactly how you have done it... Major problem is it does not last long. A client was interested in slickpour and about 2 weeks in she said it came right off. This was done on her natural nails. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?
The difference between a traditional acrylic powder and a dip powder is mainly the texture. Dip powers tend to be a finer grain than a traditional powder so you get a more consistent color/pigment mix.

As with any chemical, over exposure or "flu" symptoms can result from excess contact with the skin/soft tissue or not using the products in a properly ventilated work space. What color of powder were you using? If it was a dark color, it's possible you applied it too thick and it wasn't able to fully cure. Make sure you aren't applying the Base too thick or applying too much powder into it. It should be thin layers.
Most of the time, chipping is a result of not prepping the nail properly. Make sure you are using a 150 grit file or the medium arbor band on your efile. If you use a buffer or a file that's too fine, it won't leave enough texture for the product to adhere to. Also, if you are using the traditional resin system, make sure you are not using Protein Bond, but if you are using Conversion gels, you do want to use it.
I’m shocked this cured it being such a dark color!!!! What grit buffer file did he use? I saw the file was 150 but I didn’t catch what the buffer one was?
Yes, we would recommend applying two coats of Conversion Base over your glitter application so you don't file off the glitter. Also, since the Conversion is a thin gel product, you don't have to file if your surface is already smooth, you can just go into your top coat after sealing with base.
No, conversion is not for extending the nails as it is a soft gel. Also, using acrylic powder with conversion can turn out splotchy as it is not as fine as slickpour.
Question - do I have to use conversion top or can I use a another top coat that I happen to have on hand AND to clean a dispersion layer (conversion top) can I use ManiQ instead of swipe?
if you are using the conversion technique in this video you need to use conversion base and top for it to work properly. If you were using conversion top coat over gel then maniQ cleanser would be fine
Using Slick Pour over an enhancement is not necessary, unless you are using it for color. If this is the case, you would need to create the enhancement slightly thinner than normal to give room for the product on top.
The technique would work with any thin gel (like Flex) but we recommend using the Conversion Gel since it is more flexible to move with the natural nail.

If you are not using an efile, you can soak the product off with acetone. We would recommend filing the top coat off with a 150 grit file to make the nail more porous and easier to soak off. Also, when you are doing your initial application, make sure to only apply Protein Bond to the free edge, not the whole nail, to make soaking easier.
You could offer it as an “enhanced gel manicure” since you are using both products. Start with your gel manicure price & then you can add $10-$20 for the additional service.

Instead of using 1-4 step slick pour steps. Using conversion gel base & top coat seems so much faster! Ty. I am definitely going to try it.

I hate using resin with the dip method. It has prevented me from offering "dip" services but I will try this when I get my mystery box.

How are you prepping the natural nails? Are you using our conversion base and top coat?
@@youngnailsinc yes. I did cuticles, arbor band, swipe and protein bond. Then base, cure, base, powder, cure etc as Greg laid out the steps.
What color of powder were you using? If it was a dark color, it's possible you applied it too thick and it wasn't able to fully cure. Make sure you aren't applying the Base too thick or applying too much powder into it. It should be thin layers.
