I grew up with Rotties and I've always hated the stigma that they're vicious and dangerous. If you train and raise them properly in the correct environment, they are fantastic family dogs.
Exactly and the same with pit bulls it’s down to lazy owners who can’t be bothered to put the time and effort into raising and training the dogs right and then that’s where the problems happen because there using there instincts to defend there owners
Agreed. I have a Rottweiler and she's the most friendly dog I've ever raised.
My gma had one he was super good and we’ll trained and also protective
Vicious and dangerous for strangers. Try to stand in strangers' shoes.
Exactly. Thanks for your message. Me to I had preconceptions before my first Rottweiler that came from a refuge. As you say "if you train and raise them properly in the correct environment, they are fantastic family dogs". I want to make a therapy dog out of my Rottie, and he will work in a school with children... Not without my Rottweiler 🤩🤩🤩
My beautiful Rottie passed in 2020. She protected my jade workshop in Central America for 2 years, then kept the bears and squirrels away from my cabin in Colorado for 7 more years. She was there for me during my divorce, the toughest time of my life. I wouldn't have made it with out her. Te extrano mucho, mi Gran Xela!
We have shepweilers. Mom and dad were pure red rotty and German shepherd.
We had 3 Rotties in a row. Wonderful dogs. One had a hobby. He loved to collect stones from the river, carry them home and pile them up. He also was a peacemaker. When other dogs were showing unrelaxed behaviour, he was going in between and just by his presence the situation immediately calmed down.
What a precious dog (:
This is the cutest story I've heard about a rottie so far. I am about to adopt one of my own!
Does this mean your dog was offleash? I haven't found many videos of this breed offleash!
@@Meriysi 100% offleash and his own master, but we were living in the mountains back then.
My neighbor owned two and they were the sweetest dog and only dogs that could be off leash in our neighborhood. Everyone knew them. The own stated they need a lot of training and time, they were his only and last pair. Zeus and Lydia were the best dogs ever ❤️
They are great dogs ❤️
There's a rotty called zeus where I live lol
A rottie's behaviour is the reflection of it's owner👍
All dogs.
My Rottweiler passed last month a few days before his birthday. He was born on 12/12/2012. I miss him so much :(.
I'm very sorry for your loss

Sorry to hear that, that's always hard. Just be glad that you had the opportunity to have had such a friend they wouldn't want you to be sad.
@@aleksandrkirilenko1687 I come home and fall asleep on the ground with my baby :(
So sorry to hear that.
My incredible boy Max, passed yesterday from osteosarcoma (bone cancer). He was 9 years old on July 15, 2021. He was my 4th Rottie in 29 years! Yes, I've had Rottweilers since 1992 back when they first began to become really popular and have never been without one since. I can't stop the sudden bouts of tears yet, I know it's too early - , but felt so much better when I found this video... just to hear someone talk about the breed I love so much. Thank you!!!!
I'm so sorry. When mine passed away it was like losing an arm. I thought I would be okay without any more dogs. But I was wrong.
This is my 1st one. I ve always had dobbies. But now I see there is a BIG DIFFERENCE in owning a rott. I love him now but wish I would have stuck to what I knew. He is so strong and hard to train. Or I'm just not a good trainer of this breed 😕 I had no problem with my 3 Doberman s I've trained over the last 22yrs. But I'm trying to learn about rotts so I can be a good ower.
@@sabrinaallen5518 Rottweilers can be hard headed. I only have females. I had a male many years ago. He was really big. Very protective without training for it. However, when he didn't get his way he could be stubborn. Age has alot to do with training and letting them know who is the boss. The younger the better.
@@sabrinaallen5518 Stick with him... you're going to do just fine. Patience and perseverance....
@jstxr dogs that are great family pets are just like their owners. You know you should check people out before you open you mouth. Dogs have different personalities. They are similar to a toddler in the way they behave and listen to you. Look it up if you don't believe me. Take a step back and look at it. You don't have to agree or disagree just look as an outsider. Training is up to the owner as to how much. I've had great Dogs that I have trained and showed in dog shows and others who learned without training. I had a male Rottweiler once. Oso and he was massive and very obedient but was never trained. I talk to my dogs like I do friends.
I love the way how each and every Rottweiler of his looks back while going so as to check whether he's coming behind or not. Shows that they see him as the leader of the pack.
yessir! if its not me, they look to fluffy
Except for that bad boy named junior! 🤭
@@TheRottyRanch amazing man....i plan on having a Rottweiler myself so your channel really helps.
@@larryc1616 haha most hard looking dogs are named like that lol. My friend has female Boerboel and her name is Princess 😂

Ive had dogs for all my like (37years) and we had 2 already and decided to wing it on a rotty. One of the best decisions we ever made. Hes turning 3 soon and of our 3 dogs i trust him alone with my 5 year old niece. The other 2 were rescures and not saying they are mean. I just know how my big boy is and hes extremely gentle and trust worthy. Love this breed
I had a Rott for 19 years. We were once invited to a farm, and my wonderful Abby jumped into the cow field and herded them like she'd always been doing it. The farmer was thrilled, I didn't know what she was going to do with the cows, but she did get them into a tight ball of cows. It was quite entertaining.
Yo your Rotty lasted 19 years? That's insane.
OMG the wiggly nub I can't ... your rotties are so adorable

I know I had to rehome my 6month old rottweiler because the neighbor's reported for owning a rottweiler saying he was a dangerous dog but had not shown any sign of aggression
@@sharonogbonnaya3507 That is soooo messed up.
With the proper training,Rotties are wonderful.
They are loyal, highly intelligent and the biggest goofy dogs ever.
@@valerieneal2747 I know he was brilliant he obeyed every command I gave he was a gentle giant with a funny personality he knew how to open the kitchen door an sleep at the top of stairs guarding us while sleeping when out on walk and off his leash in the field I'd tell him to wait and he would until I told him to carry on but because we where living in a council property at the time and threatened with eviction if we didn't get him rehomed I miss this dog so much
I’m not going to lie I get nervous with my 1 year old
I'm on my 3rd Rottie. He's a very spoiled 100lb baby named Porter. He loves almost every single person he has met (the 2 he didn't like were not good people) but he doesn't like any other animals. We rescued him from a home that just didn't want him as he was a burden dropped on them by that owners mother when he was 2. He's now 8 and still an awesome part of our family. Rotties are one of the best breeds and I have a hard time thinking of not having one in my life.
I'm on my 3rd Rottweiler now and fell in love with the breed instantly, my dream is to have a big enough property like yours to have several Rottys running around, like 5or6 at once
Nice
We got a Rottweiler puppy I named Ribeye when he was seven weeks old he is now 15 weeks and weighs around 35 pounds,I am above knee amputee I take Ribeye everywhere with me because I am hoping to be able to use him for some mobility assistance. I’m afraid his energy will pick up later on but right now he’s pretty chilled and laid-back.He can sit, lay, stay, and go in the direction i point him too go in. I realize I have a lot of work to do but I’m up for the challenge. thanks for your channel man great videos!
They are very adaptable as well.
Your dog knows you better than anyone, knowing your situation, he may remain calm to serve you, after all that’s what he believes his job truly is ❤️💕
hes a working dog and wants to please you. he will probly be fine
I'm disabled and have an assistance dog (a Lab 10yrs old) that was privately trained for me and my needs. My 8mth old Rottie is naturally taking over from the Lab and allowing him to semi retire.
These are intelligent and compassionate dogs that will do anything to please. I'm staggered by the intelligence. Your dog will learn your ways, when to be calm and when it's ok to let rip.
My Rottweiler is 5 months old his name is diesel
I'm amputated at the hip (hip disartic) and I use my rottweiler for mobility assistance. He increases my walking distance by at least 5x. It gets exhausting walking around without a dog to help pull me.
I swear if someone try’s to rob yo house they finna die 😂😂
hahahaha
@@TheRottyRanch My childhood Rottweiler was a mellow fellow & thought he was a human being
I owned a Rotti for 10 years back in the 80's and 90's. Watching these videos makes me want to own another one!
Years ago when I was working in the garden, planting green beans. The neighbors rott would come over, he knew I was busy so he'd come in close to be petted and ear scratches and then trot ahead a bit further down the way and sit, when I planted that far he'd get more attention.
I have been watching videos of Rottweilers for a couple of weeks now and I am very surprised it is the first time I am seeing your channel. You should be within the top 3! Very informative and your Rotties are beautiful.
Thank you and I'll subscribed

My thoughts exactly! I watched so many videos as I'm thinking about adopting a Rotti but just today your video popped up for the 1st time. It's the most informative one so far!!
I’m getting a Rottweiler pup for the first time soon ! I’ve grown up breeding pure bred boxers & have rescued over 60 dogs, dogs have been such a big part of my life since the age of 5 , I’m watching every video I can to well train & inform myself about this beautiful breed ! 🤍

Thank you. I try and do a good job for you guys.
My VA Registered Service Dog Damian is a Long Haired Rottweiler. Best dog ever. Gentle kind and caring. Very important to introduce them to the neighbors and other Dogs on the neighborhood. Once you do that they become friends with them all.
Love it!

Thanks for getting the message out there, Collin!
In my experience, Rottweilers are some of the sweetest and most loyal four-legged friends a person can have. But as with any other breed of dog, especially the energetic ones, if they are mistreated or not trained and handled properly their energy, size and strength can lead to problems.
Unless you know the detailed history of the dog you can rarely be 100% sure of what will trigger a "fight vs flight" episode. With such a big and powerful dog, either of those can be highly destructive to both the dog and people who get in their way.
My father always used to say that there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad environment. But he also used to say that sometimes you find one you cannot save, and the only times I ever saw him cry (apart from at my mother's funeral) was when he had to put down a dog that was treated so badly that they became too twisted for anyone other than he and I to handle them.
Agreed! Bad owners!
Aww, my Dad was just like that, some of my earliest memories are of feeding orphaned kittens. We have hat rottweilers for almost 30 years, they are the best! But they need so much time, training and attention. We are getting older and rescued a sweet little rott mix.
Always loved the breed, friend rescued one on death row.I went with him feared for my life, back flips to get at us.To my surprise he took him home.Best dog ever.He didn't even have to train just did.Lost my boxer year ago and adopted 3 month rott now little over year old.So smart, convinced he can solve problems. BEST THING I DID.
Thanks for all the info! I love your channel! My rottie just turned 6 months old. Love her so much!!
Great video! We have had a few Rotties and currently have a brother and sister pair, Emma and Stud Muffin. Their mom passed away in April at age 11. We’d had her since she was 9 weeks old and I miss her very much. Your dogs are so beautiful and obviously well loved. Thank you for respecting this breed so much and making this video. As a fellow Rottie Lover, I always appreciate seeing that. Keep up the awesome content!
Fact: They get their name from the town which they are originally from... Rottweil Germany.
I don’t like to hear the English pronunciation of the breed
Rot-why-lerr
I think the right pronunciation (according to the German language) is:
Rot-vai-la
W is pronounced like V in German
I am from Greece, we use the German pronunciation of the word!
I had one Rottweiler😢💔
Thanks for sharing!
nope they came from rome empire
@@simbazilstorff they might be used by the Romans but the breed is from Germany!

Awesome tips. Really like how you addressed the owner's responsibility. Great looking rotties. Best dogs ever!
Thank you! Be sure to check out some other videos ❤️
Thank you Sir, I’m watching the breed for some months now, coming from a boxer-/bulldog-mindset. However, hearing you talk underlines anything you can ever wish from and do for a dog (or a friend). They are just awesome.
Beautiful babies. So nice to see that they are with people that love them as part of the family.
They are my world ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just saved my first dog ever and he happens to be a Rottweiler 😭 they were starving him, his tail is SO short 😭 I’ve been so obsessed with them for so long and my heart is so broken that someone would do this to him. He’s so beautiful 😭 I got him gaining weight, got his first round of vaccines and got him dewormed 🥺 he’s doing so much better and is even potty training SUPER well. He’s so smart. And he’s great with my 10 month old son. They don’t hang out much but when they do it’s so cute and I can’t wait to see their bong form 🥺 my heart breaks for this puppy so now I’m following every Rottweiler owner I can 🤣❤️
I just wanted to update! We found out he was taken from his mom too young 😭😭💔💔💔 he nursed in everything and I feel SO sad since I nurse my son. He especially wants to be close to my son and I when we are nursing and I almost wish he was young enough to give him a bottle when we nurse so he didn’t feel left out but I feel like he’s much too old 😭 I dk does anyone know if it would be bad to do for comfort? How can I help him cope? I see him having dreams and it’s SO obvious it’s so sad 😞
Thank you for taking care of him
Hes gonna bond to you real strong. Any dog is greatful for being saved, but a rott.... its permanate.
@@ronfox5519 he has been the absolute best, stubborn but very easy to train. He’s my first dog and everything I thought having a Dottie would be and more. The stigma behind them is so sad because they’re the BEST family addition
@@cassidysanchez6648
Very true about the stigma.
Its a shame. They used to be high on the bite count record, and i dont understand that. Must be because of doing protection wirk or something, because they seem so stable and measured in person.
These dogs are clones of each other in many ways yet they're individuals with superior intelligence and disposition! Just amazing! Your dogs are beautiful 💯👍 well done.
Thank you so much!
Welcome to the channel!
While watching the videos you get a glimpse of their individual personalities. It’s so sweet and cute 🥰

I plan to get a rottweiler in the future, you had some great tips I havent heard before! great vid
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
all i can say is - they're vicious dogs, if they become angry, there's not much you can do. They are the most loyal dogs I have ever had, even if my cousin is playing around with me, my boy gets into protection mode and just wants to tear him apart, way too difficult t control him in that case
@@sanskartewatia4320 I'm a woman so you think i couldn't control if he gets mad? I have one who is 4months old
Hubby and I are can’t decide what breed we want as a guard dog when we get a house, rottie or pittie. Rots were my 1st dog as a kid, we had a mom/dad and puppies. But now that I would be the sole owner im a little scared, i am 100lbs wet and dry, how can I manage a dog that will eventually weigh more then me? I want to be able to walk and take them out lol
Before you get a Rottweiler, study 📚 up on the breed to see if it’s the right dog for you. If you do get one the top two things you want to do is training and socialization. This is very important. A well trained and behaved Rottweiler is a absolute joy to own. One that is not can be a dangerous thing.
As a Rottweiler owner I find this video full of good commonsense advice. They are beautiful dogs but you do have to always be aware that they are also a very powerful guardian breed and it is up to us as owners to know our own dogs and to be aware of any potential "triggers" if you are taking them out for walks etc. Also, as mentioned in the video, adequate fencing is essential. Don't set your dog up for failure. Be the most responsible owner you can be.
Thanks for watching!
What kind of triggers could they be? I really much like rotties but the idea of sudden triggers is a bit scary.
@@GreenlifeFin same triggers for most dogs on walks , an unleashed dog who is aggressive who comes running up to yours , or maybe a critter , I know mine can't resist chasing squirrels in the yard , common sense stuff , but some just do not like certain people , my German Shepherds will let me know if theyre not trustworthy , my Rottie loves everyone , he will go off with the Vet and get his shots done no problem, they love him and he's good with other animals, my GS's though are a nope, just different personalities, just know YOUR dog , is the key, I've seen small dogs become aggressive around larger dogs and that can trigger your larger dog to protect you , so just be aware.
Beautiful Rottweilers!❤ I've one female Diva-weiler😆, (9 years old).Love the personality of this dogs!😊 Greetings from Switzerland🇨🇭
Love it! Welcome to the channel ❤️
I grew up with rotties and my parents bred them for four years. by far one of my favorite dog breeds
They are so great!
My cutie pie rottie is super affectionate, handsome and intelligent! His eyes literally look into my soul. Also, he loves tummy time and being around family... he adores the attention! As a bonus, I let him inside via a doggy door and he NEVER destroyed any of my items that were lying around. All dogs are beautiful animals but my heart will always belong to the rottweiler ❤ Colin great video; very informative and cute rotties! 😍
I've had a APBT for 9 years now- I took training and socialization very seriously- she is such a well balanced girl. My next dog will be a rottweiler; I feel confident in training one where I spent so much time with my pitty. Always learning new things tho! We also do the added fresh food, ours is more lean meat focused, usually 75% muscle meat and the rest vegetable and organ. We also add tumeric paste to prevent arthritis and inflammation and well as fish oils for joints 😀
Exactly what we do!
A dog's diet is very important especially in regards to health problems later on as they get older
Thank you for being such a good Rottweiler Dad ❤💎 Beautiful dogs 💜❤💛

We've a 4 month old and this is invaluable info. Thanks so much!
Great video and tips. I believe I have heard (and saw on a show) that per square inch the rotts bite is the strongest. Your dog set up and your place is a place of love and happiness for those dogs. Great foundation you descibed here for having those dogs. Wonderful animals they are. Props -

Man I really appreciate this video! I love the enthusiasm and attitude. The dogs are absolutely beautiful. I am getting my first one in a few weeks (he will be 8 weeks) and hearing the amount of training and exercise it's gonna require is a little intimidating but I am up for it. I have young children so I really want this dog to love everyone. Is the key having him around and interacting with anyone and everyone I can, whenever I can?
Yes! Early and often!
They need socialization and trading! Obedience classes are not optional, but they are absolutely wonderful dogs

Great video. We just moved from CA to UT and our Rotty misses the pool but loves the snow. They're great family dogs, just make sure to train and socialize.
We sure do.
Yea we need a pool.
theyre perfectttt ❤️ great catch Fluffy! loved the health tip too. its good to look out for that kinda stuff!!
For treats I always give cooked or raw meats, and the adjust their meals depending on how much they have 💜
I'm glad you brought up the hygiene part of giving them baths and stuff like that there's a lot of people consider animals just animals and I see you with you that you consider them as part of your family my dogs cats are my children and always have been considered my children they can't take care of themselves so as a parent you have to take care of them

I guess that's what prompted the children's book "Good Dog Carl". If you haven't seen it check it out. My Rotti was very sweet around my babies.
Omg I'm so happy I found your channel. I have 4 Rottweilers and a pit and they all get along so well. When I got my first Rottweiler she was so hard to train because I had zero experience with training them. I got my fourth one a few days ago and she loves her brothers and sisters. My pit is 1yrs old (girl). My first Rottweiler is 4yrs old (girl). My second Rott is 3(boy). My third is also 3(boy), and my fourth is 8 weeks (girl). My children love them and the dogs love my children. I definitely recommend getting a Rottweiler as a familiy/guard dog. Most people may say Rottweilers are vicious or mean but its really about how you train them they also need to be introduced to children at a young age.
Had a Rottie for 13 years best dog I ever had. A sweet, stoic angel. He was good to my kids and was my buddy. He made me feel safe and loved. My sons friend would come over and hook him up to a leash. He would put on online skates and let Moe take him for a ride!! Great, beautiful dogs

We had a huge pen built with a roof on it he saw a little crack over half way up the fence he pulled it apart and got out.
Dogs are very smart.
Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Very informative thank you for the great video!!
Thank you for watching. Plenty more to come!
Beautiful 3 Rotties you got there. I've never Owned one but have seen one close up, but chained, on a leash. It was my neighbors.
I've never got to get to know one personally, and cuddle with one.
These are Beautiful dogs, and I'd never want to see these dogs get upset.
Great Video. 🐕❤️👍

@@TheRottyRanch woww 70 hours? May I ask what kind of work you do?
Your Rotti’s are great. Mine just turned 11 but he thinks he’s five. Still lots of energy. Getting another puppy in a month. I fell in love with the breed. Thanks for your channel.👍🏽
that's awesome.
Thanks for your great channel, and for what you do for this breed...
Your channel somehow popped up on my UA-cam list, and it’s crazy because we just got a Rottweiler Wednesday lol.
This is the video I didn’t know I needed.
Just subscribed.!!!!
Welcome to the channel! Congrats on your pup and thanks for joining our journey!
They are great dog's. ONLY breed I've ever owned. No pig ears. Trust me
They need a lot of training and management. You must spend a lot of time with them the first 2 years and it should be intense and intentional. This goes for the very intelligent dogs and notably, large breeds. Big dogs are super confident. Thanks for sharing because most people make the pet about them and don't invest in the dog...they do that with their own children sometimes as well...
Yes they do
I am about to adopt a 2 year old rottie rescue. Can I teach a dog his age some manners? Apparently he has bad walking manners.
@@Meriysi yes you can but depending of the history of the dog, it can be difficult but not impossible. They will need a balance of love and a lot of attention. If you need help, get with a professional in your area. It will pay off later.
I used to have a Rotties. She was the ofi-est dog, very goodie! Very loyal and protective of us!
I have a 13month old female(Valkyrie) . I have had American Bulldogs and Rhodesian Ridgebacks and both of those breeds are great, however the Rottweiler has everything I want in a dog. I couldn't be happier! This is my first female dog, and she is hyper alert and driven. She doesn't bark much and only gets protective in her home or when someone is out of place. Thanks for the vid! Your pack is very balanced!
Thank you!
They are such good looking and happy dogs. I can tell you take very good care of them and they're very spoiled 😆.
Awh thank you!
My Rotti was diabetic, but she live to 25. I'm an RN, so I guess God decided I could manage her. She was the best dog I've ever had.
AWESOME VIDEO!! I miss my Rottie girl every day. She was almost 12 yo when she passed..xoxoxoxoxo
@ 5:10 that's awesome how he knows his dog like that and about how the dog was looking at him 😊nice
That is EXACTLY the description of my Molly. RIP my girl
Rip Molly!
One fact about rottweilers, 1/4 males are named Bruno
I did not know that!
the name for all the male rottweilers were all rocko in spanish it sounds better the female name is rosa and the only husky bella she is a female and gets jelous if you pet the other dogs instead of her
🤣🤣🤣
Talking about Rotty names. Worse one I ever heard was on utube and some guy had named his Rotty "Death Row" ....maybe the guy was over compensating for something else ?
@@AntipodeanNZ hahahahaha
Gorgeous dogs and adorable! As an adult dog my Rottie loved carrots and tomatoes. I used to reward her with baby carrots.
We love carrots!
im telling you there is nothing like the loyalty, respect and unconditional love they give you, there is nothing like it in the world. no one ever will match that ride or die love.
We have a German Shepard and the whole tail thing and stuff on the ground is relatable 😂
Soooo true!
Rotties used to be used to pull carts for butchers. They protected the money bags kept around their necks and we're known as Butcher Dogs. 😊
Someone's been studying
Yes they were thanks for sharing!
Look at how fast the tails are going! So cute!!!
:)
We have a Rotty mixed with Australian Shepherd - super cute and won’t be as big. Lots of energy and very friendly. This video was insightful as we do see a lot of what you said here.
You are so kind
