I was wondering, does collecting mission objectives beyond the required amount still give you xp? Like let's say I've got 200/200 morkite, does mining more beyond that give me xp? What about booloo caps or gunk seeds?
I deleted an entire section on this topic. Yes it does, not sure about secondaries though. It's only 1 xp, but if you have a double xp mission with morkite beer, in a haz 4 or 5, 3 mission length morkite mission. You can actually get tons of extra xp by mining more then needed. I never knew this and used to think it was useless, but it turns out you can keep getting xp this way. (Only worth it for double xp missions tbh)
First off I forgot were I got this info, I think it was from Axiskronos, so Evan tho in 99% sure it’s correct take it with a grain of salt. Both primary and secondary objectives give you exp if you already have it, for example I believe that Mushrooms and flowers (I forgot how to spell the real name) give you 5 exp per, and each extra aquarks gives you 15 more exp.
As stated by others, yes, and "minerals mined" gives much more XP than "enemies killed" so don't scoff at it if you need XP, but the worth of the mining time goes up a lot when the hazard level and other bonuses are high. More risk = more reward.
Yoooooo, love the video, cleared up a lot of suspicious, my friend Leo was in the video, gamertag leothefluffy, after the game he joined the party on Xbox and started happily saying,”I WAS IN A GAME WITH FOURLEAFGAMING”, and everyone, including me, started to freak out a bit.
nice video Fourleaf!! these are good myths you've went through. the one about carrying minerals and double exp, I have been thinking about those as well. happy you gave the answers! happy to see another video from you again! until the next one. R&S⛏️
4:24 they may have greater spawn chances for mission length, but that doesn't mean they're better. the two to three times larger spawn rates are just to compensate for the two to three times longer missions. there's no reason to worry about mission length's effects on event spawns when playing normally. if you do want to specifically grind machine events and care about nothing else, then the only important thing to know is to play on arquarq missions. since they're just one big room, you can quickly sweep the area and reset without having to go through a long area. but again, if you're playing normally this still doesn't really matter if you're exploring every cave regardless.
Sounds like you watched the suggested video I made about farming overclocks. Which says exactly that. Aquarq missions are the way to go. Clear the room with a scout and reload if you don't find a M.E.
Definitely agree that Aquarqs (typo) don't increase upon depositing, but I do 100% believe waves occur WHEN you dislodge the Aquarq (typo) from the wall/ground.
MYTH: Drillers always c4 their allies on purpose, especially the scout. This myth needs to die because its a fact; its part of their tutorial. Its not a myth.
4:56 I must say my account is proof of this concept. I main-main Driller (7 promotions), and off-main Engi (4 promo) and thats it, and yet I have EVERY OC AND A WALL OF COSMETICS FOR SCOUT AND GUNNER.
Here's a myth: point extraction spawns can bug out into infinity. I had games where 15-minutes in it felt like hordes don't end. If it's not true, I'd like to know how it happens. There are seriously runs where there's no time to carry the aquarks. Especially when it happens on a solo run.
3:57 - It may have been this way in the open beta branch which I don't bother with, but I can say with certainty that it's never worked since the main release. People do it a _lot_ though.
I wanna add: Pots of gold USED to work like that. It's why people think it still does, some people just never saw the patch notes. Now mined gold correctly overflows into the chunks that don't fit into your pockets! Mine away, Miners. Just don't carve gold with other methods!
Keep in mind that the gold mined has to come directly from your pickaxe, you can't dig behind an entire crassus bowl with your drills and then dig out one little bit with your pickaxe to convert everything with Pots, because all of that extra gold broken works the same exact way as blowing it up or digging the terrain behind it does
So for the OC one I've been keeping track of what I've been getting. I'm a gunner main and never played scout 5 gunner 2 scout 7 engie 5 driller It does seem to be roughly equal though the amount of tines I've used one of those terminals and got 3 options and none wee gunner was astonishing
about the overclocks. I levelled Engineer to 25 and promoted and my first 2 matrix rewards was for the beamcannon, and a Driller hat. Both of which where the only classes above level 5 at the time.
To further comment and simplify the aquarq mission debate. The bug spawns are simply based around how much time you have spent in the mission. In my personal experience, it gets worse specifically after each swarm. However that's just an old beards findings and the swarm thing could be incorrect. Edit: It's "bug" not "big" curse you autocorrect.
I literally got hover and hipster as my last weapon overclocks, literally the last 2 for all classes. I main scout and wanted them so bad and the game made me work for it.
The thing about Experimental Plasma Charger is that when you blow up minerals, they scatter all over the place and you will likely miss some because they fell into a hole, behind a corner, on a shelf or something like that.
2:24 exceedingly easy to disprove: just be bad at point extraction or have a lot of side objectives in PE. Youll quickly realize its just based on how long youve been in the cave. And that the bugs can get MEAN.
5:25 ever since I heard that, I told myself it is really really true. And started making screenshots every time I get an overclock for the class I am playing as. Now I get them every single time. RNGesus just likes to fuck with us
Driller is my main, but it seems I always get driller OCs when playing another class. I only have about 20 OCs including cosmetics, but about 13 of them are for driller.
I'm so shocked 8 isn't true. There was a time where I'd get gunner overclocks and ONLY gunner overclocks. I main a mix of scout and driller, but I wanted overclocks for every class that wasn't gunner at the time. It's so weird
Agreed. I should have been more specific here because for everyone I know that this happened to including myself, we were playing the class that we wanted an oc for. It seems as if you won't get an oc for the class your playing. Of course it's different now with choices but it used to not be that way.
To #8 I can actually say that when I started the game and only played scout for a good while I actually only ever got scout OCs and thought that getting OCs from your class must be MORE likely.
for the overclocks for main happening least, my first 5 weapon overclocks, not counting blank ones were all for scout and a bunch of the early cosmetics i got were for scout it got to a point where it was so noticable after the third time i kept count of it
I can see how the overclock one seems true, promoted my driller first and all my core rewards were for Gunner and Engineer, same after promoting my Scout. I can't seem to get driller OCs to save my life.
I main Gunner (Like, 250 missions to the others' 40 combined) and I've regularly gotten a choice for Gunner in the last... 4 or so cores I've infused. I also haven't bagged all overclocks on any of Gunner's guns. If there's a diminishing chance, it's probably owed to capping out on weapons.
About that one with the Overclocks for main happen last, I've had it happen to me. And it's not just the bias of remembering negative experiences over positive ones, I literally have tons of overclocks for every class but like 2 for Gunner specifically. I am a believer of the conspiracy theory. My main thought is that I /should/ have a relatively even amount of overclocks for every class, yet it has a much greater bias for every other class. I have about 5-8 for the other classes, but only 2 for gunner. Maybe I'm just incredibly unlucky (which I am, but that's besides the point.)
2:26 Yeah but it USED to work that way, but cus players just got used to not depositing the Aquarqs till they had them all, they changed it the mission just gets harder as time goes on, problem is so many older players or casuals who didn't get the memo of the change, still tell others "how it works" which is the old way, which is why the myth still lives on
Yay! Mythbusting! I always love debunking the myths everyone just keeps propagating, because having the experienced data is way better than just the old stories.
Judging by the obsolete machine event interface, this was made before machine events were altered to have different spawn rates depending on a mission type.
I'm an engineer main and some of the first overclocks I ever got were Fat Boy, RJ250, and micro shells, all in fewer than my first 10 overclocks, and at the time and to this day, my engineer is about 3 promotions above all my other classes, so I don't see a system that's trying to prevent maining a class.
@@TheLegendOfFLG Ya, I was just adding that as a piece of additional information, since those barley bulbs are pretty useful so this is a good piece of info to know.
that was a mistake on his part, he made a video explaining the misunderstanding. its name is " MINERALS MINED XP CHANGES | DEEP ROCK GALACTIC " this is the link ua-cam.com/video/1L9lUbXBA7s/v-deo.html if you want to use that
I've never thought of these and my main experience with drg is solo also I got only OCs for my main class (gunner) even when I wanted OCs for other classes oddly enough I have at least 4 OCs for all gunner weapons but the lead storm.
I think the illuminati are real in DRG, lol. Scout is my main class, and my best class, and the scout sniper rifle was my weapon of choice. (this was before the updates came out that gave scout the crossbow and plasma assault rifle) I literally, and I cannot stress this enough, *LITERALLY* got the overclocks for EVERY OTHER WEAPON of the OTHER 3 CLASSES before I even SAW a single overclock for the Scout sniper rifle. It was practically a freakin’ meme among me and my friends how I got all the Engi overclocks BEFORE the guy who mains Engi did, lol.
on the overclocks for main happen least, i have a ton of overclocks on my main (driller) and the least amount on the class that i dislike playing the most (engie) and with the other 2 classes i'm closer to the number of OCs on my driller than on my engie. i got 20 OCs on Driller, 6 OCs on engineer, 18 on gunner and 16 on scout. i play scout>gunner>engie when Driller isn't available
Agreed, same experience here and for most people I play with. It's more about what your playing determines what you get. Apparently this isn't true according to the devs but I wouldn't put it past them to make the grind longer lol 😅
Time taught all this lessons to me, but that damn RNG gave me the single piece of cosmetic (my most wanted) at last after everything been unlocked, Primal blood (the only red paintjob before seasons). And then we've got Waster wich in my opinion is better than PB
for #8, i am one of the players that don't get many overcklocks for my main class: i play driller and all types combined, i got only 3 while i got 5 for engeneer 5 for scout and 2 for gunner. Now, sure i still do get some on the driller, but the first one i got was like the 5th one
Some of these myths are just... strange. Although, on exploded minerals not yielding the same amount, that's... partially true, only in a technical sense. Yes, they'll _yield_ the same amount (dark morkite/pots notwithstanding) but since the EPC scatters the mineral chunks all over the fricken solar system, you won't *COLLECT* the same amount.
2:10 I think there's one more exception and that's the minerals held at stage 3 in a deep dive. Deep dives maintain your inventory between stages, and I believe this unique features makes it so that the stage 3 minerals in your inventory aren't counted, though I'm not 100% sure on this.
You will always get the xp for total minerals collected by the team, as that number permanently goes up whenever you collect nitra, gold, etc. However, things that grant credits like gold or crafting minerals, must be deposited in order to be counted at the end of the mission for hazard bonuses and such. This is the case even outside of Deep Dives
Heat wave in my country slowed the progress but it's in the works 👍 I work 6 days a week and put way too much time into my masterclasses so they can hopefully age well. Someday I can do this full time and be a much better creator 🙏 thank you for sticking around my G.
I knew 8 was false because my first promoted dwarf was an engineer, and for some reason, of the five overclocks I've got now, 4 of that five were for engineer. One for the shotgun, two for the shard gun which is the main one I use actually, and one for the sub machine gun.
All I did was play scout initially, and all of the OC's I got were for engineer and driller. They were all for weapons that I dont even have unlocked yet =/ I'm pretty sure overclock acquisition is linked to class playtime I've heard a lot of people say "it only seems like that" but in my experience, I get more OC's for classes I do not play regularly
if you grab all the overclocks for the class you main there are less for the game to pull out of the pool, so it'll be more likely to have the other3 classes
4:25 Man, my luck must be terrible then. I've gone over a dozen missions across two days without a single machine event, and these blank cores are itching to get infused.
I swear the overclock one has to be some hidden feature. For every class, I would have 90% of the overclocks for the weapons I don't use, but only 10% for the ones that I do use
Some of these myths sound pretty dumb I must say, like the RP = Less XP, the Aquarcs, the pots o gold. The Overclocks for least played Class, for me is true. And I'm not kidding, I did a quick check and after finally reaching lvl 25 with Engi (I really don't like playing Engi) without promoting the class once, with all the other 3 having +3 promotions, I have all the Overclocks for all guns with the smart Dwarf. Don't know how this happend, maybe back in the day I was Main Engi and just now started maining Scout/Gunner (somewhat Driller) and just didn't notice.
Fun fact: Performance points for a mission can't go higher than 2300. Only outside factors can make it go higher than this, such as the seasons main item (Plaguehearts this season), challenges and event items that trigger the double performance points bonus
There might actually be a reason why it seems you allways get overclocks for the wrong classes. Say you have a pool of 10 overclocks per dwarf. And you loot 7 crates where you can choose between 3. And you allways choose your main when possible. Say you get 4x main, and 1x for every other. Given it gives you three random oc's for 3 random dwarfs. There is now 33 OC left, and an 18% chance to get your main, and a 27% chance for every other class.

Or test it for yourself - for the slim chance to proof it got fixed by now.^^
Danny devito has a cameo in this video
Thanks. I learned some things.
Also who knew Driller comes from a long line of aeronautics engineers.
IlluminLama is the best joke I've heard all day. Many thanks for that and this video.
@@TheLegendOfFLG 000,0
As stated by others, yes, and "minerals mined" gives much more XP than "enemies killed" so don't scoff at it if you need XP, but the worth of the mining time goes up a lot when the hazard level and other bonuses are high. More risk = more reward.
@@TheLegendOfFLG thank you very much. One of the biggest questions I've had
I love finding all these channels that make DRG videos. Has to be my favorite game right now.
I can confirm OC luck is just random. I main Scout and have gotten primarily rifle OCs.
had a scuffle with my friend over call that breaking minerals without hitting it spot on yields less minerals. Thank you for clearing this up
Missed this in my inbox, hope life finds you well. Great video as always keep up the good work.
Same to you friend. May your beard be thick, and gold satchel heavy!
nice video Fourleaf!!
these are good myths you've went through. the one about carrying minerals and double exp, I have been thinking about those as well. happy you gave the answers!
happy to see another video from you again! until the next one.
This Cellshade mod looks so dawn good
Definitely agree that Aquarqs (typo) don't increase upon depositing, but I do 100% believe waves occur WHEN you dislodge the Aquarq (typo) from the wall/ground.
I'm pretty sure it triggers a small ambient swarm.
MYTH: Drillers always c4 their allies on purpose, especially the scout. This myth needs to die
because its a fact; its part of their tutorial. Its not a myth.
The Borderlands esq. filter is very nice. The reverse mining was so satisfying to see.
4:56 I must say my account is proof of this concept. I main-main Driller (7 promotions), and off-main Engi (4 promo) and thats it, and yet I have EVERY OC AND A WALL OF COSMETICS FOR SCOUT AND GUNNER.
username checks out.
Here's a myth: point extraction spawns can bug out into infinity. I had games where 15-minutes in it felt like hordes don't end. If it's not true, I'd like to know how it happens. There are seriously runs where there's no time to carry the aquarks. Especially when it happens on a solo run.
I swear point extraction waves just seem longer. Probably because I’m always out of nitra.
I mostly get overclocks for scout, and I play scout the most. But over time, that will change as the pool of unlocks for that class decreases.
About the overclocks, its a 3 to one chance to not get what you want.
Aaaaand you covered damn it
3:57 - It may have been this way in the open beta branch which I don't bother with, but I can say with certainty that it's never worked since the main release.
Keep in mind that the gold mined has to come directly from your pickaxe, you can't dig behind an entire crassus bowl with your drills and then dig out one little bit with your pickaxe to convert everything with Pots, because all of that extra gold broken works the same exact way as blowing it up or digging the terrain behind it does
@@Real_RUBB3R I figured "Mined" might be enough but I probably *should* have clarified pickaxes specifically :x
And the thing you just mentioned.
The videos are getting better and better, dude. Amazing! Keep up with the great work!
So for the OC one I've been keeping track of what I've been getting. I'm a gunner main and never played scout
5 gunner
2 scout
7 engie
5 driller
It does seem to be roughly equal though the amount of tines I've used one of those terminals and got 3 options and none wee gunner was astonishing
about the overclocks.
It's amazing. Some of the most tech-savvy people I've known have also been the worst at just fcking googling things.
Top notch information and humor! ROCK and STONE FOREVAH!
maybe multiple dwarves repairing dotty doesnt make her health go up any faster, but I offer you this counterpoint:
We loves dotty
We fixes dotty
🤣good enough for me
I would love this cell-shaded filter you're using as an actual graphics mod.
I literally got hover and hipster as my last weapon overclocks, literally the last 2 for all classes. I main scout and wanted them so bad and the game made me work for it.
these were exactly the questions that were keeping me up, thank you
The thing about Experimental Plasma Charger is that when you blow up minerals, they scatter all over the place and you will likely miss some because they fell into a hole, behind a corner, on a shelf or something like that.
RNGesus just likes to fuck with us
Nice one mate! I love these types of videos, R&S
The statistics of the overclocks just makes sense. When you are only looking for 25% of them the 75% you find creates this illusion of it being fixed.
for the overclocks for main happening least, my first 5 weapon overclocks, not counting blank ones were all for scout and a bunch of the early cosmetics i got were for scout
it got to a point where it was so noticable after the third time i kept count of it
I can see how the overclock one seems true, promoted my driller first and all my core rewards were for Gunner and Engineer, same after promoting my Scout.
2:14
The illusion is because a group of enemies spawn (once) after you uproot each arquarq.
I am fairly sure if you don't deposit beer ingredients, like barley bulbs, then you won't get added to your space rig inventory.
It won't, but it will count towards xp as the argument is "don't spend nitra on resupplies because we won't have as much xp"
@@TheLegendOfFLG Ya, I was just adding that as a piece of additional information, since those barley bulbs are pretty useful so this is a good piece of info to know.
I got all overclocks first on engineer even though i played it the most, every class is very similar on time played tho
The minerals will count when you go in the drop pod but you won't get that xp for them. Axis Kronos tested it
that was a mistake on his part, he made a video explaining the misunderstanding. its name is " MINERALS MINED XP CHANGES | DEEP ROCK GALACTIC " this is the link ua-cam.com/video/1L9lUbXBA7s/v-deo.html if you want to use that
I've never thought of these and my main experience with drg is solo also I got only OCs for my main class (gunner) even when I wanted OCs for other classes oddly enough I have at least 4 OCs for all gunner weapons but the lead storm.
I think the illuminati are real in DRG, lol.
Scout is my main class, and my best class, and the scout sniper rifle was my weapon of choice. (this was before the updates came out that gave scout the crossbow and plasma assault rifle)
I literally, and I cannot stress this enough, *LITERALLY* got the overclocks for EVERY OTHER WEAPON of the OTHER 3 CLASSES before I even SAW a single overclock for the Scout sniper rifle. It was practically a freakin’ meme among me and my friends how I got all the Engi overclocks BEFORE the guy who mains Engi did, lol.
#8
Good thing I enjoy playing all the classes 😎
In a total of 25 overclocks, I received 2 for engineer, 3 for driller. And the rest for gunner and scout that I NEVER played.
on the overclocks for main happen least, i have a ton of overclocks on my main (driller) and the least amount on the class that i dislike playing the most (engie) and with the other 2 classes i'm closer to the number of OCs on my driller than on my engie. i got 20 OCs on Driller, 6 OCs on engineer, 18 on gunner and 16 on scout. i play scout>gunner>engie when Driller isn't available
Thanks for the video. You solved lot of my doubt.
for #8, i am one of the players that don't get many overcklocks for my main class: i play driller and all types combined, i got only 3 while i got 5 for engeneer 5 for scout and 2 for gunner. Now, sure i still do get some on the driller, but the first one i got was like the 5th one
I know for a fact pots of gold doesn’t only apply to empty pockets because I have walked past many a piles of gold and had my pockets filled
Yeah literally mine any vein of gold and anyone who's actually played the game before should be able to tell
FourLeaf, you still have yet to release a Gunner Masterclass.
Heat wave in my country slowed the progress but it's in the works 👍
I work 6 days a week and put way too much time into my masterclasses so they can hopefully age well.
Someday I can do this full time and be a much better creator 🙏 thank you for sticking around my G.
@@TheLegendOfFLG which country?
It's been a whole year and I have only gotten 2 things for scout. The rest is all Engineer which i never play.
"But for now, have you seen this?"
Arrow points at black screen. It's always strange when YT cards don't work lol.
My very first overclock was the one I was looking for, for my main.
I knew 8 was false because my first promoted dwarf was an engineer, and for some reason, of the five overclocks I've got now, 4 of that five were for engineer.
One for the shotgun, two for the shard gun which is the main one I use actually, and one for the sub machine gun.
God I feel old I remember the early single digit updates and going insane when we thought update 8 was the last since 9 took about s year I remember
All I did was play scout initially, and all of the OC's I got were for engineer and driller.
They were all for weapons that I dont even have unlocked yet
=/
I'm pretty sure overclock acquisition is linked to class playtime
I've heard a lot of people say "it only seems like that" but in my experience, I get more OC's for classes I do not play regularly
if you grab all the overclocks for the class you main there are less for the game to pull out of the pool, so it'll be more likely to have the other3 classes
4:25 Man, my luck must be terrible then. I've gone over a dozen missions across two days without a single machine event, and these blank cores are itching to get infused.
we're dwarves killing spiders for a living just to spend it all tipping lloyd
of course we'd fall for every single logical fallacy in existence
Point extraction is my favorite
I swear the overclock one has to be some hidden feature. For every class, I would have 90% of the overclocks for the weapons I don't use, but only 10% for the ones that I do use
Yeah not slapping the dice or not sticking your mug in the ceiling of the drop pod are also bad luck and must always be done.
You get less minerals when Bosco mines.
IDC if this gets disproven. I will always believe it
9/10 I get rewarded with a overclock for scouts. I don't play as a scout. I have 12 weapon overclocks for the scout and 2 for my engineer.
I can safely say I knew almost all of these, save for the machine event one.
Say you get
4x main, and 1x for every other.
Given it gives you three random oc's for 3 random dwarfs. There is now 33 OC left, and an 18% chance to get your main, and a 27% chance for every other class.
I have a rule that i leave at tHe third swarm on aquarq missions. By that point its almost impossible to dig out anymore aquarqs.
I prefer to pronounce Jadiz as 'Hadeez'
Sadly I already knew all of this, still a nice video tho
Doing gods work.
i recall i really wanted the rambo hat for the scoutt and it was the last fucking hat i got xD i was soo pissed lmao
Thanks learned something:D
