Traditional Scotch Pies

  • Originally called Mutton Pies, these are a real tradition in Scotland but now enjoyed the world over. These days they're usually filled with spicy Lamb or beef.
    Recipe
    For the pastry
    500g Bread Flour/Plain Flour
    200g Lard
    1 tsp Slat
    185g Cold Water
    For the filling
    300g Minced Lamb or Beef
    1/2 tsp Mace or Nutmeg
    1 tsp Mixed dried herbs
    3/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp Pepper
