I can hear these too, sounds like the stream dropping out. If you sat long enough in Audacity you could probably cut these tiny patches out, don't know how it would sound with them gone.

I know white pony was their most successful album commercially but Saturday Night Wrist was they're most ambitious and for me the most creative, and I love this album for it.

What I love about this is you can tell they’re all emotional but Abe especially. Like, he obviously was missing his friend and brother. That final pass before Chino starts the verse, when Abe’s hitting both his crashes @ 0:29, you can just tell by his body language he’s giving it everything hitting them damn cymbals as hard as he can for Chi. Abe’s drums are definitely the glue that holds the band together, it’s a sound that’s instantly recognizable AND Abe drums with such conviction and force that it drives his performance by fueling his emotions. Criminally underrated in his generation. Certainly one of the drummers I bass my approach on, in fact one of my biggest influences. Not many drummers play with such fervent conviction and obvious passion as he does, homie’s just built different. They don’t make em like that no more 🤘🏻🖤🖤.

I haven't looked into it so I could be wrong. But who is to say they hadn't considered Ming as a replacement. I imagine there might have been a considerable emotional weight to fill Chi's shoes that Ming may not have wanted to sign up for every rehearsal, every performance etc
