- Got my first ever LTD - series guitar from ESP & Musamaailma a while ago and here's what I think about it and how I modified it a bit to better suit my tastes. Hope you'll enjoy ;-)

The string wrap-around will reduce the angle of the strings hitting the bridge and therefore lower the tension, FYI. I sometimes put some graphite paste on the bridge grooves, don't think it helps much on round wound strings or as much as on the nut.

About "Insikt": I guess I haven't played that song ever or at least in many years so I have no idea about it and since I'm not in Shining anymore I have no plans to learn it now ;-)

The LTD is actually you could say a budget model of the original. So there is the ESP Iron cross wich costs about 5000 bugs and the ESP LTD iron cross model costs about 1500 bugs. The difference is where its build. the ltd model is build in korea while the other version is built in Japan. and you hear the difference slightly.
I know. I have 8 hand built Japan Custom Shop ESPs and several LTDs 😎.

I know this vid is super old but you seem to check all the comments so I’m hopeful lol. I have this exact guitar, and to be honest I was kinda surprised you swapped the tuners. I’ve had Sperzel, Gotoh, Gotoh Magnum Lock, Fender American Locking, Hipshot, a bunch. And to be honest to me the LTD locking tuners are about as good as the Gotoh Magums, at least feel and stability wise. I have another LTD with the factory locking tuners and I’m thinking of upgrading to Sperzel but I’m second guessing myself. Do you know what the ratio is for the Gotohs compare to the factory? I think Gotohs are 14:1 but I’m not 100%.
Yeah couple of them broke on a tour so I just swapped whatever I had with me. Gotoh seems to do the job great so I use those 😎. I have no idea. I’m not much of a numbers guy when it comes to music / playing. Whatever feels good and does the job.
