Not sure if you’d see this -- I’d love to chat! I am a dv and family law advocate. I had to leave social media because the entire DV community has become “buy my course, book and 1:1”. These are UNTRAINED, UNEDUCATED content creators. I run a REAL nonprofit and we provide FREE 100% free services and classes. I had a client who was unfortunately unalived because she gave 5k to a “dv coach” who told her to just “leave”. I can’t even get into how dangerous that is. I’ve been working on a series but I’d be happy to pass the idea and footage off to someone who could get it out there! I don’t have a huge following because I make occasional videos about the ludicrous DV industry. I’d definitely love to chat!

I'm a home herbalist, so I talk about the topic online a lot on facebook and instagram. I assume that's why.. I end up with ads on social media for courses and books that cost 100-1,000$. Kind of the same idea I guess? I leave comments telling people I can get them started for FREE with like a paragraph of pointers. The people selling don't know ANYthing, as I see wrong info right away. For example, I saw an "herbalist's" post saying "Why don't we plant fruit trees on the sides of the road for homeless people to eat for free!?" The reason is you don't eat from the side of the road. Car tires and cars themselves leave TONS of toxins. Anyone who has ever foraged or studied plants knows this, it's a main point when you get started...where NOT to go looking for food and medicine LOL. They gets tons of clicks, meanwhile little ol me has like five followers lmao!!!

    Asbestos litigation paralegal here!!
I don’t know how old that woman’s husband is but the latency period for mesothelioma is 30-50 years (meaning it can take 30-50 years to develop after exposure). Assuming he’s young, it is likely that he got secondhand exposure as a kid. Let’s say one of his parents was a carpenter or electrician and was redoing drywall in an old building or something. That parent probably came home with fibers in their clothes and he probably inhaled them. We see this all the time actually.
Is it sad and tragic? Yes. Is it the result of “unclean” household and personal items? Unlikely.
I hope they find peace and healing some other way because Monat certainly will not give that to them.

    • @stephanieefany

Came here to say just this! I am not an asbestos litigation paralegal, but I come from an area with a really high rate of asbestosis and mesothelioma. It's an awful, awful disease. But from ingredients in skincare? Very very unlikely. He may even be a builder/tradie himself and had exposure very early in his career.
Not related to Monat, but rhe rise in home renovation and house flipping TV shows really makes me worry for people doing home renos without checking properly for things like asbestos.

    • @madisonbutler3874

@@maryeckel9682 not often. It’s usually people who worked in specific industries or locations or were members of a union. Or it’s a spouse/child whose spouse/parent worked in a specific industry and they’re alleging secondhand exposure. So it’s usually pretty clear. What usually happens is 50-60 defendants get named and then through the course of discovery most defendants will be let out of the case. By the end there’s usually only a handful or even 1-2 left. But I has to be done that way because more often than not the plaintiff won’t live to see the end of the case so they have to throw stuff at the wall to see what will stick while they’re still alive.

That type of music playing in the background of a touching movie scene really helps a scene, but when you’re talking about money it just clashes very hard and it makes her come across even less sympathetic than she already is.

I’ve been with my husband since 1975. We had a large family and ALWAYS avoided junk food, chemicals, sugar, and processed foods. The kids are now in their 30’s and 40’s and their families still eat this way. However, despite having ZERO risk factors for breast cancer, I got a very aggressive form when I was 50. I almost died and realized my stringent lifestyle didn’t protect me. Now the love of my life has Stage 4 prostate cancer and is in the middle of chemo. He has no more prostate, no more testosterone, of course no more hair, and lived the same pristine life we all did. I have stage 4 Endometriosis, and get something called Endo belly, which is when my belly will go from normal (im overweight, but my stomach is still flat) to literally looking 5/6months pregnant, in a matter of hours. Its VERY painful, it feels like my belly is going to explode or rip open. So seeing people push their bellies out and then call it bloating in order to sell a product, pisses me off pretty bad.
If you regularly are bloated, TALK TO YOUR DR, NOT AN INFLUENCER! PLEASE🙏 Our bodies have crazy cool ways of telling us things are wrong, and bloating is one of those things. Regular bloating is not normal, and your belly slightly going out over the day then slimming down overnight, is not bloating😂 thats just what happens when you eat and drink, then sleep for hours.

The bite video made me sick to the stomach. For context; I'm a herbalist. I make whole plant-based completely natural remedies in my kitchen for my family and friends.
You can use natural plantbased ointments to help heal a wound: arnica, calendula, and comfrey are the classics. HOWEVER, you use these in extracts from the whole plant (meaning, you extract the active compounds into a base oil like castor or olive by using heat) and thicken that to an ointment consistency with beeswax. You never put pure essential oils on an open wound, because of potency and concentration issues that can irritate healthy skin - let alone broken skin.
And most importantly, you do not apply any kind of ointment before thoroughly disinfecting the wound - at every application - and redress the injury. Essential oil bottles are not sterile, people.
There is also no grounds for using the oils that they did. Yes, tee tree is anti microbial, congrats. But not sufficiently to disinfect a wound, and it contains other irritants that will make the injury worse (namely the active compounds in this case. Its not meant to be used on broken skin at all).
I also question whether they followed proper protocol in handwashing when treating the wound and dressed it adequately. Because yes, that looks infected to me.

Go easy on those ointments, cover them only if absolutely necessary when you’re away from home or engaged in dirty chores. Clean and dry is the absolute best thing. Oh, and if it’s a bite, especially a human one you’re best to be seen and take some antibiotics. Human bites are absolutely the worst, far worse than a dog bite. Suture closure is not generally recommended for bites unless there is truly significant tissue tearing, it only seals in the germs. VIDEO IDEA: partner up with a lawyer for a Q&A style video where you're finding out how MLMs get away with this. Is the accountability of truthfulness when selling put on individuals who have no assets so no one can be bothered to take them to court? What loop hole are the MLMs jumping through. Love your channel by the way from the UKxxx

Ones like the first one make me so angry. As someone who is struggling financially, I first of all call cap on those numbers. There is no way. Second, it’s DISGUSTING how this tactic WORKS. As I said, we’re struggling, and I would never buy into something like this, but whenever I hear clips like this, a small part of my brain just _hopes_ against hope that maybe it’s not a lie. What if it was true, what if I’m missing out on relief for our situation? And then I just get angry they make anyone hope this way. 😢

Something sad about hearing people say it's so much "hard work" is that if they're already spending _so much_ time and money on these MLMs only for it to never be enough - they could've put all that time and money into picking up an actual new skill instead. Learn to paint, sculpt, sew clothes, knit wool, quilt blankets, bookbind, make jewelry, bake fancy, or on the more expensive side, woodwork. Something that's actually enjoyable and on which they might actually build their own little business some day. Something that'd allow them to produce their own items to sell, and produce beautiful handmade products they could feel pride in giving to their family and friends, and that they'd feel happiness in buying and cherish. Instead of trying to sell a company's overpriced (and often useless and even hazardous) products and watching people scamper away.

One of my friends used to work for an MLM. It is still a popular business in Canada, but my friend no longer works for them.
She had also challenged herself to win one of the reward trips for top sellers. She succeeded and won an all-inclusive trip for two to Africa. It was an incredible experience, and she loved every incredible moment of it.
However, when she did her taxes the following year, the trip was considered income and not a reward gift. She ended up owing a lot of money back in taxes. Money that she didn't actually have because it was used for this trip and not received as income. So she essentially paid for her own all-inclusive trip, even though the company pitched it as a reward.

I personally find it soothing but I know a lot of other autistics who can't stand essential oils

Talc is so much better powder too. I live in a hot climate and talc powder really helps with the.... sweaty body creases 😂
But now it's corn starch. And let me tell you, #1 it isn't nearly as smooth, doesn't last as long and almost friction-y, and it like builds up and is still visible. Talc could be rubbed on and not seen. Corn starch never rubs in and is just a white powder all over you that falls off as you go. Constantly reapplying.
#2 my biggest pet peeve is that I think that it's counter intuitive that using a starch to "help" warm moist areas is just giving food to the bacteria that will feast on the starch and cause smells. Talc used to be great for what southerners call "swamp-ass"
But don't dare use that new corn starch powder on swampass, it is NO BUENO!
      0/5 stars don't recommend lol

My mom has a friend (an ex university classmate) that now lives in England. She married an English man who passed away almost ten years ago from lung cancer believed to have stemmed from I believe asbestos too. But what was the actual cause? He worked in construction and most likely got exposed to asbestos at work as I remember hearing the cancer appeared because of work related incidents, where he most likely inhaled asbestos because it was heavily used in older buildings. My dad works in construction and he can vouch for that. He's not ill or anything but he's aware of old construction for his job. Who knows if he was expsosed to asbestos at work or something? She can't be seriously saying that monat doesn't cause cancer.

Sadly Asbestos was viewed as a miracle construction material - fire resistant - so for certain decades it was put everywhere. Currently in UK asbestos reports are often required from properties of that era, and only specialised contractors with full safety procedures can remove. If covered and undisturbed it is not seen as a threat, but want to take down that 60s /70s garage and need the authorised teams

One thing that occurs to me is that if you managed to actually make $300,000 a month, then realistically, rationally, you should then delete everything and disappear because you've now made more than enough to just invest all that and be set for a number of years, possibly retirement. But they're too greedy to cut their losses. The people who pull these scams are too greedy to cash out once they make money because it's never enough.

I can’t believe they are still treating that wound with oils. Just a small correction about your feedback- I was taught in school to avoid using hydrogen peroxide on wounds as it actually kills good tissue and further irritates the wound. The best thing to do for this kind of wound is wash it with warm water and soap, apply antibacterial cream, and cover it with some kind of bandage to keep it moist. At this point for him, though, I’d be sending him to the doctor.
