Randy, I believe this Range Rover would be good for content. I notice that a lot of people enjoy watching Land Rover/Range Rover or any other Euro car projects because they know that those cars have plenty of issues. It's also an enjoyment to see someone bring a Euro car back from the dead. I'd say challenge yourself to do the head gaskets, detail it and drive it for a while. Trust me someone will buy a fully sorted Range Rover at top dollar asking price. Fully sorted I think (in my opinion) you could get like $15k-$19k out of it.

Randy, As a Land Rover tech, Doing head gaskets isnt the end of the world, and being a NA 5 liter, it makes it even easier. Some advise if you do pull the heads. Replace the timing chains, the Injector seals, and check the cylinder heads for straightness. When your going back together, replace the Crossover tubes, waterpump, and thermostat. The little hose that pushes into the waterpump, you push in the collar and it pulls out. Probably going to break though.
Talk about a power tour car, throw in a 350, or a 454, cut the mufflers and put it on traditional spring and gas shock suspension, you got yourself the world's only reliable range rover XD
I don’t usually go for those fixes in a bottle but the CVT fix I had bought years ago worked well. Hopefully this blue devil can give this range a bit more life
It was probably struggling to start from all the coolant in the cylinders, once you’ve wound it over some many times and cleared all the coolant out of the cylinders into the exhaust the fuel was able to combust and fired up. Good luck Randy maybe try some head gasket seal like Sam Crac. Edit: there you go I just seen what your going to do 😂
Hey Randy this is what it says about the 2011 Range Rover HSE Sport Mechanical features include: HSE models use a 375-horsepower V-8 that makes 375 pounds-feet of torque. Supercharged versions have a 510-hp, supercharged V-8 that makes 461 pounds-feet of torque. Both engines drive a six-speed automatic transmission.
Randy, if the Blue Devil doesn't work for you, give Bars head gasket seal a try. I poured half a can in my radiator (make sure the coolant is fresh and the engine is cold), well you know the rest of the procedure. Its been three weeks now and not a drop of coolant has leaked. Hopefully I'll get many more miles out of my paid for vehicle. Keep the great videos coming!
I have done the same thing, Randy. I was at a closed bid impound sale and I thought I was bidding on a nice Toyota truck and as it turns out I was actually bidding on a burned out hulk Toyota. When they called it to my attention I won the burned one I paid the bill and took my lumps. I have always tried my best to have integrity in my business dealings.
I love these auction wins. Go on Randy go for gaskets, I reckon it will pay off on views. You have a great shop too to do it in! I’m British I wanna see Birmingham’s finest live again.
Hi Randy! Good deal on the R/R! For as little as you have in it maybe you should reconsider doing the head gasket or picking up a used engine and swapping it! Just a thought! Good luck it will be interesting to see if the head gasket sealer works. God bless you all! Thanks for sharing! David
Do a test series of different products on it and then in the end do a video replacing the head gasket. I'd watch all the videos, Randy! Keep up the great work!
Randy , I worked for Jaguar Cars USA and at Pre Delivery Inspections we suggested the use of Barrs Leak with the brown resin in it and it was a miracle elixir . When I worked for Rolls-Royce and Bentley USA again Barrs Leak with Aluminum Flakes
I would do the right thing and replace the head gasket , and fix it right, instead of Mickey mousing it that way you can get a good price for it when you sell it …

As a Land Rover enthusiast, I am yelling to shut it off. Bad coolant crossover pipe caused a coolant leak overheated the engine and blew out the head gaskets if not cracking the head. Hopefully, you did not totally finish her off. I'll watch the rest and see.
Idk if it's just me but I never put a spare as a steer tire but I guess it's just because I had one blow out on me right after putting it on and driving for a mile or so I understand it's a lot more work taking 2 tires off to swap the rear to the front and putting the spare in the back but for some reason it makes me feel better keep up the good work Randy
Head gaskets are so easy to fix tho! I have an Escalade I just redid the heads on, it only cost me $120 to get the heads shaved and Inspected. Well worth it
Get the battery compartment cover on that asap or you'll have serious water/corrosion electrical problems. Although that might be the least of your problems with this one :)
I'm a massive fan of your channel your videos are excellent but I MUST APOLOGISE because I'm from the UK and i really do apologise for giving the USA range rovers its certainly not the best thing we've offered the world and it definitely seems like the head gasket low compression hard to start radiator bubbling like a kettle when turned off apart from that it really doesn't seem too bad keep up the good work Randy 👍👍🏼👍🏻
Chances are with these engines if they need a head gasket 99% of the time it’s cause they were overheated, rarely do these overheat and not do extensive damage to the block because its aluminum. Usually just doing a head gasket doesn’t work you’ll need a new engine but there are times where it will work long as it wasn’t overheated too bad
I have the supercharged 5.0 2013 I just got from a Range Rover dealer the motor was drinking coolant it was not a blown head gasket it was a warped head they had to rebuild the top of the motor did it under the dealer warranty took 3 months but runs perfectly now
Recently saw one of these driving on the highway & thought "wow, a running range rover". A couple miles down the road, it pulled over & the flashers came on.
These cars go downhill fast when they are neglected. The servicing and maintenance needs to be exemplary. Sadly, many end up like this, ridden hard and put away wet!
To get rid of that cigarette smoke on the cheap, get some Arm & Hammer baking soda, pour out into a couple open plastic containers & just let sit on floors while you're not working on it. Will get rid of 80% or more over couple weeks, wiping down gets rid of more.
That connector that is disconnected by the battery is supposed to be that way. That’s a transit relay that is removed at delivery when the car is new and that’s how it’s left.
I agree with one of the other replies, fix the head gasket better Contant would rather see that than another Copart walk around as well and it would expand your knowledge on working on them, and that has the executive package on it. Talk to Sam crap about that they tend to be worth more. It’s a decent car with a decent future especially since the air suspension works. Give it a shot see what happens.

You're right. My cousin's LR4 did the same thing. We put a fuse in it and it came back to life.
Range Rovers need a fuse for tires to not go flat! 😅
