Oh my god, thank you. I had pretty much abandoned working of skyscale a few months ago because of how annoying it was to do. This rekindle my desire to do it and two days later, I'm on the last step of collection.
lul, wasnt that bad for me. I just watched yt video on the locations, went there with my griffon and borrowed skyscales and was done with it in like 1-2 hours not counting the prerequisites like the 10 events you have to do in each area. the 250 mapo currency was the easiest. each time I got the next area from the quest I completed all the hearts and took a fewresources here and there, did the meta once and was done with it. Really fast. So for anyone having trouble, dont give up! its less than it looks like. relatively speaking, its very fast (compared to other grinds)
I've been DREADING the skyskale collection, this makes me feel slightly better about it, thank you! I'll definitely get Blish, I can't believe I've never heard of it before this. And man am I glad I bought the Prototype Position Rewinder! I hate jumping puzzles with a passion because I'm one of those players who gets more and more nervous about falling down the farther into them I get and then, naturally, I fall down from pure nervousness and shaky hands, rinse and repeat... like a gazillion times...
I didn't mind the Skyscale stuff. I broke my leg during the time I was working on mine, which put me out of work for a couple of weeks so I unlocked my little brother's too. The second time around it's trivial.
Haha.. I remember doing this for 4 days straight xD No blishhud .. just wiki 😂😂 when I finished I closed game and only logged in for the daily reward for 5 seconds/day for 1 week... I was sooooo burned-out i was going crazy 😂😂😂
It’s annoying but either way do think taking a few weeks off GW2 is good. Mostly as it allows you to come back fresh to gameplay and it’s systems. Taking a month away from X game seems okay to me generally. When the game does that due to their actions it’s admittedly bad
or just do a littlebit everyday and then do some other stuff. I am almost finished now by doing 1-2 things per day, sometimes even nothing. Took me 2 months and i didn't ruined the game for me.
It’s so fun how differently everyone plays this game (and MMOs in general). I thought the skyscale grind without addons was mega super fun, wasn’t too bad except I decided to grind gold instead of doing jumping puzzles. But god help me if you think I’m gonna replay LWS2 story 3 or so times for core mastery points

My only gripes with the skyscale collection are the lack of good hints for half of the collection, lack of proper icons on the map (the icon they use is hard to see against some stuff), and the original timegates. Otherwise, I had fun with it and went on a journey!
im gonna complete the last part of the final skyscale collection tomorrow and it honostly werent as bad as i initially thought. the skyscale of [element] collection were maybe the worse, the rest of the collections were juts go to different places interact with something. the mount is pretty cheap to get imo, i just crafted most of the skyscale food. the druid stone collection took longer.
I didn't know about pathing till after I did Tyra map completion. Im glad I did it that way on the first character because it made me really appreciate how massive the world is. Feels so good when you get auto-loot and most of the mounts before using pathing (taco/blish).
Skyscale is 50g if I remember correctly. You still have time gated events with the skyscale so, you're still limited as to when you can get it done. Now, you can do the same thing with TaCO as you can with Blishhud. I believe Blishhud has a few more options to it. I run both lol
Blish Hud didn't exist when I was grinding through this, but I turned Taco on half-way through one of the crazy collections and it saved the day for me. I probably would have quit the game had it not been for Taco (now incorporated in Blish). I'm sure Blish makes it even easier to complete. I did however craft all the food and completed every JP cept one since game gave me one jp skip treat for free :) I feel like Blacklion chests have a built-in algorithm that goes 'are they streaming? give them something' .. I have opened many many chests and got nothing better than dye.

It was something weird in the NE corner of vabbi which I could barely survive long enough to look around. Unless that was a different collection lol. They all blur into one, you forget the pain. But not enough for me to think I'm going to bother trying to get skyscale in my alt account.
I would probably use this pathing for second account too. But for the first time I really like these scavenger hunts (those where there are some clues - and clues are actually great if you know the map)
Goddamn I did the Skyscale collection twice. First for myself and the 2nd time with my girlfriend. It was painstaking, but at the end of it all, it made me feel so satisfied like I am the Goat. The Best of the Best. The Chosen One. I've never felt so worthy. 😂
They should just make these things give skins and stuff, not basically essential stuff to play (skyscale isn't exactly essential but it sort of is if you wanna do certain metas). I don't get why mmos do this, play what you want, you're not forced to do anything. Except story and stupid achievements. I had to grind out Tyria jumping puzzles to get mistlocks in fractals, why? I don't know.
for me I have never had anything good out of 15 black lion chests, my brother started and the first key he pulled a perma contract worth 1700g, I was like THAT is bs lol, personally the first things I got was a few bank tabs/material increased, much nicer having more than 250 mat storage limit.
Has anyone had an issue trying to register the API Key? Every time I do it says invalid token…? So I can’t use Blish Hud till it randomly works? I’m confused.
I did the SoTo version to get my skyscale and then went back and did the LW4 version for the achievements and I actually liked the LW 4 version better. I felt like I actually earned something. I did not find it as too much as it is rather easy. Time consuming yes, but hard, no. Yes I use Blish HuD with the Tekkits.
When I found I had to do 10 missions for each merchant to buy the meds that's when I stopped. I don't care about going from point to point collecting scales, giving medicines and stuff, but this map is not as concurrent as it was, it is a pain to do just that part when you got late to the party :(
As far as I know, the only advantage TacO has over BlishHUD is that it has a map marker maker tool. BlishHUD has much deeper functionality in the other modules you can download and the Pathing module can use TacO marker packs.

5:30 a few days ago i boght 25 keys, because i wanted a specific glove skin got perma bank access worth 4,8k gold think i got around like 4,2k gold after taxes when selling on TP definitely helped my account big
i did the whole thing in 3 weeks while taking it easy , two hours a day just doing what i can and then loging off , people take it hardscore and wanna get it in 3 days , just enjoy the process and do other content , and then get back to it , and repeat.

Black lions keys for fashion that you can't really get anywhere else. Agreed that you aren't get your gold value back. Expensive, but it you buy on discounts, keys are cheaper and quicker than statuettes or exclusive chest 😏

Been playing on/off since beta and with SoTO promising a better way to get the mount, I decided to get all the way back in. So I bought the expansion and got started. Then I got to all the time-gated nonsense and finally realized how little Anet actually cares about their player's time. I'm genuinely disgusted by the time-predatory design practices.
Im sorry I refuse to use add ons. They are a gateway to an arms race. And Arms race that ends up being the developers Vs 0.01% Players, yet the reprecussions are felt by all. FF14, their latest raid and the disappointment Yoshi had in the player base as a quick and current example.
I agree to an extend - some add-ons should have been in game features. For example the search option that gets you the code for linking something in chat. Add-ons that change the gameplay spoil the intended the experience. For example if you see how much your bank is worth, makes you greedy. While the game design is intentionally focuses you on the social networking instead of grinding and greed.
but this game isn't ff14. actually the add on is just some indicator on map to direct you where to go, and it actually just there to cut the time taken from eventual wiki visit each item to collect. just think of it as in game wiki. and this is to make skyscale collection just a few days earlier to get vs without add on.
That only happened because it's Japanese people and they're actually honorable, simply would never have happened in Western audience/developer. We don't hold the same values over here
gw2 addons is not nearly in the same league as the cheat addons that were used in ff14 world first. some of the addons for ffxiv have even been integrated into the game by the devs. also very few addons could be used for cheating in ff14.

Grinds like the sky scale and legendaries are there to test if the people playing the game will finally wake up and go play any of the hundreds of better games out there, or go back to sleep and mindlessly grind this mediocre one.

Skyscale is worth it but Lordy it’s a tough go even with a guide.

For me all of them were fine and easy except timberline falls like hitbox of the platforms was janky af so I had use a treat on that one
