I love how you said one spoon, two spoons but using your hand hahahaha. I called these, people who know how to cook stuff by heart. That is what people in my home country do. We don't use a measuring cup when we cook because a measuring cup doesn't exist.
For those who ask about the long time preservation, if u fill up your jars right away it finished cooking, close it tight and put it upside down for 11/24 hrs, will vaccuum seal perfectly, but if u want to water bath go ahead n do it for 15-20 minutes.
Omg I love this recipe, I’ve made it like three times now and it gets better each time, also is it wrong that I love listening to you talk lol, you have such a pleasant voice.
Great project. I believe that any project that you can eat after it's done is twice as rewarding. One of the most soul soothing activities I have ever experienced is sharing this kind of thing with a loved one. Oh, it's a powerful date night, rest assured. Best of all for me, is including a sweet child from age 1 and up. If they want help in any way, you can accomodate them. Even the youngest can sit nearby in a highchair and feel involved by mashing applesauce, etc. My granddaughter enjoyed standing in a chair and making her own scrambled eggs since about 18 months old. She feels like a champ and is so smart, she was learning and tuning her skills in a very real way. The joy and love in her face is priceless! Watching her as she sees food magically transform as we cook is building her brain network to treasure discovery, teamwork and kitchen chemistry. How can you top that?! Conclusion: Consider suggesting these things to those who receive your food gifts. Suggest that they choose to discover any food they can make together. The younger people like immediate rewards, like we do, but cheese, bread, and other multi phase projects work too, with practice. Enjoy!
i am so making this . it looked awesome . i do not use any pectin in my jams or preserves ither . hugs from michigan . thumbs up on a great video n recipe . have a great rest of the summer !!!! i subbed also .
2 1/2 cups :) The recipe is below the video if you want it for reference! Enjoy! Feels like fall is almost already upon us - this will be perfect for it!!
Do you have a strawberry jam video? I got all the tools and ingredients, I went to the Ball site and they have a pectin calculator there. Basically I am looking at the ratio of pectin to the amount of cups of fruit. They should be the same no matter the fruit right? could be wrong that's why I am asking. Also, the ball calculator does not indicate the amount of lemon juice. Actually it doesnt list it at all. So if I was to go by what they say there would be no lemon juice in the jam at all. I am wanting to store it so I am assuming it is essential to be in the jam,?Thx again
Hey Joe! I don't actually use pectin in my recipes, but from what I recall from culinary school, your instinct is correct: the amount of pectin required should be about the same no matter what the fruit is. As for the lemon juice, their recipe just may not include it. You don't have to either! It's not essential for the storing of the jam :)
I wanna try this wish you had continued to the staining part some videos I've watched have multi step staining I just want to know the most effective way to do it with your recipe thank you
Salt brings out the dominant flavor in whatever you're making! That's why when you bake a cake or muffins or anything like that, there is usually 1/4-1/2 tsp salt in the recipe. And that's also why chocolate with fleur de sel is so popular - it makes the chocolate flavor pop :) Learned that in culinary school and it's one of my favorite tricks!

Easy cheesy compreesy thanka chew
Can I do this with whole crab apples? thanks
I'm actually not sure about that! It's worth a shot? But if I'm not mistaken, crab apples are quite sour, yes?
So...no water bath needed?
Could i use apple juice in place of the water to give it more of a apple flavor ? Love love your video :)
Used half the liquid used in apple juice and really liked the flavor.
YUMMY 😋 THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟🍎 JAM BEAUTIFUL ✨❤️💚🖤🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME,

Loved this recipe with spices, but can we mash up the apples when its mushy? It will be easier for kids to eat it..
Yes of course! Every recipe should be made your own according to your own needs - I highly encourage that!!
I mashed about half and liked the consistency.
thanx , :)
+Ofir Bt You bet!
how many kgs the apple?
I'm not sure :(
Why salt?🙄

They are in the description :) Thanks for saying so too, @RicardoRamos!
Did u did a water bath on jars after fill in ? How long
Apple jam/jelly doesn't need to go into a water bath? I want to be able to store it, not use it right away.
For those who ask about the log time preservation, if u fill up your jars right away it finished cooking, close it tight and put it upside down for 11/24 hrs, will vaccuum seal perfectly, but if u want to water bath go ahead n do it for 15-20 minutes.

You left out the water bath step!
It's not a canned recipe..fridge or freezer only
Is this pumpkin spice?
You can use that, yes.
I'm gonna try it!! Parece ser muito gostosa!! Vou tentar fazer essa geléia de maçã!

That jam is not ready! And look horrible
amanda touch I'm sorry to hear that, Amanda! Mine was perfect! You might benefit from adding in some pectin. It helps to gelatinize things!
Lauren Lobley Amanda can benefit by adding some Prozac to the mix.
Çok boş konuşuyorsun ya.
nasty.. ewww. using your hands as a measuring cup too? yuck. (-1 : 6)
