It's been almost one year since I didn't play on my full setup, so to celebrate this, I decided to go back to the roots of my passion for music. Thanks to Gojira, I started to play drums at the age of 9, and since then, I keep punching forward my technique to be able to play the parts Mario creates. He is such a great drummer, my favorite one.

When I play blasts I just use the standard single strokes, but recently I've been practising double strokes. How long did it take to develop the double stroke technique with your feet?
Lewis Griffiths not much time to develop and understand the movement but a lot more to master it. I play double strokes for six or seven years now but in less than one year you can play double strokes :)

I'm doing a mix of techniques, between the heel toe and siding technique, it's called doubles strokes !

Great chops bro! Your kit/layout is almost identical to mine, even the placement of your X hats,just different brand,color, and I have 2 floor toms, but I know our kits are made of different wood,but on my toms I've been using Ec3's on my batters and G1's on my resos, Gmads on my kicks and Hd Dry on my snare and I love my sound, but after watching this video I love your sound as well. So I'm thinking about switching heads, but one thing has got me wondering and it's your snare head. Is that Evans Hybrid really worth $50? It sounds great on your snare, but I have a Mapex Black Panther Sledgehammer which is metal and yours is wood, so I'm wondering how it will sound on mine. Any advice?
The hybrid worths every cents ! It is very durable (have the one and only I bought for 2 years now !!) and still sounding well !! It gives a really punchy, with a lot of attack and very short sustain !

Did you have to change your tm-2 settings when you switched from axis?
Jamie Jeffords no because I didn’t change my RT-30k triggers. I change my settings when I play with my electronic kick drum :)
Can you help with double triggering on double strokes?
Jamie Jeffords yeah, you need to set right the threshold and the retrigg cancel.
But sometimes I hit too hard the snare it triggers my kicks because the heads I’m using are vibrating. To go against this, you need to muffle completely the bass drums.
When I’m using my electronic pad KD-120 no false triggering are triggered :)
