Oh, thank you. Great video, The frame and rims are excellently made, can't wait to see how the car performs I love your videos so much, I could sit here and watch them all day. Well done guys, you did a great job, 💪
Good job fellas but please wear a Sprayers Mask when you are Painting because we only get One Pair of Lungs. I can't wait to see the Truck back on the Road 👍👍👍
I must say good job.. In think more structure is needed in that rusted bed though.. It was huge to see you completely refurbish the bearings in the front and back for the wheels.. I don’t know how long the tires will last though..seeing the lug nuts that were impossible to remove and cut off and replaced was great on your part.. Cutting off the back bumper that was mangled was great too to see it just go away.. Now I wonder about the cab for the truck.. I hope you can find a different one.. Perhaps a homemade one would be better.. The taillights were well made but the wreaks and crashes this truck has been over time is so sad.. Seems best to surround the vehicle with channel iron to prevent the future damages.. I can’t wait to see how you reconfigure the cab, all the electrical, gauges, hydraulic lines and get the crane back on with new hoses.. ha I hope.. maybe another 10 years of use left in this old pounded truck. You all did a great job and fun to watch you tear it apart and put it back together in much better condition now.. have fun all .. great video.. ☺️👍
We see many parked ot junked out no running vehicles these days..But when new paint and rebuilt hydralic pumps things get more useful.. Perhaps when the cab is brought back or a new one is found the crane will be valuable again and bring in money to the owner..
TIP, use a block of wood to put against any components that need to be pounded on, that way you retain that good factory coating and said part wont rust a quickly, you can always go over it with some rustoleum tho... rear spring links so forth, you belted the coating right off of em... lol may as well be as perfect as you can, take your time.. it will show in the end
This is an enjoyable project to watch. Heat definitely helps to losses stubborn bolts. For bolts that are very difficult heat them up then spray them with WD40. The heat will draw the fluid inside the threads making it much easier to back them off.
Looks like an excellent job so far but PLEASE when welding use proper eye protection, it's not expensive and replacement eyes are not available! Best regards from Ireland.
Fantastic job of the chassis and tray, can’t wait to see the work on the cab as that will surely be the worst part of this restoration. Would you mind if I asked the time frame that this restoration has taken to this stage. Love the length of your videos, I can sit here and watch them all day. Great job fellas, really good work
Yep I would like to know too, how much hours you wasted in painting and fixing a crane, that is technically sick to its bones. Why do you spent your time on something you obviously have no clue of how to do it right? I am puzzled. The guy buying this crane buys a kaputt crane. Milky gear oil, nebmver mind, pit fresh in, stuck brake cylinder, never mind, hammer out, clean and reassemble with engine oil, and pls ignore the broken brake shoe, a crane does not need brakes, it's never driving, as we clearly saw when you test run the "newly" kaputt repaired engine....
Thank you very much. At first we planned this project to take about 1 month to complete, but we didn't expect it to last nearly 2 months because the car was so old and broken.
Не понимаю чем тут люди восхищаются. Все из под топора и замазано краской. Кузов не должен быть сварен с рамой. Масло походу залили на глаз и отработанное судя по цвету и т.д...
LoL, Restorations, LoL; Craigslist Rebuild!!! LoL So, I guess they didn’t have enough money for new shocks or front tires. I give the bearings a month……Maybe!
Considering it was a wreck when you started. It’s sure way better than when you got it. You’ve done the best you could with it without spending huge $$. I’m a mechanic. In my country, its strict regarding vehicles road worthiness. I’d change the tires as soon as possible. Maybe good used ones? Those are bald and cracked. Dangerous. Especially in the rain. Also, please wear boots!! You drop an axle on your foot,..? You could lose your toes,or worse.
Just a hint, sealant needs to be covering the whole of the meeting surfaces, not just parts of the surface as is your practice and you need to learn how to pack bearings with grease properly if you want them to last. Pack the grease between the rollers, it takes time and is a dirty job but it extends the life of the by bearing many times.
Experience. When you work on things like this for long enough, naturally you start to figure out how things should fit back together. And if that’s not enough, they do have everything on video.
I am curious to see how you guys will handle the cab, I presume you will have to find another cab to attach to this truck. The cab it has now looks like it is beyond repair.
I've now watched both parts, and just seeing how you guys put on filters tells the whole story. It's all the way a "how NOT to do it". Milky gear oil, no problem, just put fresh in. Stuck brake cylinder, no problem, hammer it out and put it back in with engine oil, never mind the broken brake shoe. Sized wheel bolts, no problem cut off and put flat nuts on the new studs, never mind the ball seat. Dead injection nozzls, no problem, rinse the new parts in dirty diesel, that makes the engine run like yours, aside from painted sealing surfaces, non centered crank seals, dead seated vales and new piston rings on old hone surfaces. I could go on for every single step you guys took with this. You guys even botched the basics for paint prep. I am so sorry for your customer, who will buy this nice looking peace of pup. And here the UA-cam specialist tell you how awesome your workmanship is. I truly have to disagree to the fullest. You just made a perfect documentary why you guys can't make in a lifetime what we in Europe and northern America make in a year. A year that has working days with 7 hours of working time and with substantial less than 200 working days while we get paid for 52 weeks a year. Some even get paid for 14 months each year. E.g. working for Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, Stihl, Bosch etc.pp. Your work was just in vain, lots of hours for what, a badly patched up and painted crane. Next time, spent a bit more money on parts, then you end up with a happy customer. Not a cheated on like with this crane.
I have to agree, if they want to drive this piece of junk themselves thats one thing but if it's for a customer or for sale they should be ashamed of themselves.
Do you have a mental problems you have to understand this is for themselves they do it for you tube in there yard in probably a 3rd world country that's hard to get part but instead of being lazy and doing nothing there trying and then they have assholes like you that probably work in a air-conditioned garage and have your parts delivered to the door complain that their not doing it right. If you noticed things like the wheel studs were replaced with brand new ones I new seals just because you don't see it doesn't mean they don't do it just remember sometimes you have it easier than others 😊( and yes there paint job wasn't done like a body shop but I don't think that's what they want lol)😅
You should be wearing a dust mask when you're wire wheeling the rust off it's not good to breathe that in can cause medical problems that I know from experience.
