Those are similar to the Husqvarna cables, I've replaced those with ones from Amazon and usually work well

If you’re not using the bag it’s not needed. But it doesn’t hurt having it on there either way

I’m working on a craftsman with a single cable brake that I managed to free up with penetrating oil but when I attach it to the mower it still won’t move the mechanism to allow it to start.Kinda frustrating considering all my extra parts I have nothing seems to work.

Probably should replace the cable. I have had that happen before.
