U fixed it but the manual sez u can turn the turnbuckle on the cable end without taking it apart.,,,?

I found it was easier to take the tension off of the cable before tightening.

I just bought this exact mower used, can you confirm what the right trigger does?

The right trigger is collected to the left. Its more for personal preference as to if you are right or left handed.
