I have a 3.7 MDX, I’m on the second engine that blew due tointernals failing. The interior and exterior is still immaculate so I’m going for a third engine swap.
@Ryan Gromoll thnks for the advice and do you think the ecu, awd system, etc would be plug and play?
Nice review, pushing the MDX on high speed corners was amazing!! I have a 2018 Pilot Elite now and love it, I can see the MDX being a very nice upgrade. I'm very likely to get one now...
I don’t need an suv as big as this but if I did it’d be top of the list. The update looks excellent.
Exactly, I wouldn't even look at the competition. This MDX would be a no brainer

I don't usually care for crossovers. But, this is fabulous.
Interesting that Acura decided to offer V6 in this new MDX and not just went with the turbo 4. I wish they offered the V6 in TLX too. TLX engine bay area was clearly designed for it.
The TLX Type S will get the V6 Twin-Turbo.
@@drewbenefield2001 twin scroll single turbo
@@drivescene6747 yep! There was some misinformed information online.
Glad they kept the 3.5. 2.0t has no business in a 3 row suv.
Go sound system and I can hear loud and clear. So nice to have a car like this while cruising on the road. It really feel like your engaging with the vehicle and the music.
Seems smaller inside. I don’t know why they do those wings in the center console. Manspreading is out of the question. Raising up the center console also gives a smaller interior impression. An inch or two less room in 3rd row? Does it sit lower too? Not a fan of a stick on iPad that is wide and not tall. Interior is busy looking...which also makes it feel small/tight.
Why is there no heated steering wheel on the A-Spec MDX and TLX?
Hopefully they take feedback from early buyers and add it down the road
You were riding out and it held up well. Very good review.
nice video bro does the exhaust note, suspension steering more changes in sports mode?
I love the 2022 MDX! Is the only difference with the A-Spec the black detailing and rims?
Vs the Tech package yeah it's mostly sportier aesthetics, but honestly it brings the best out of this beautiful exterior design
This car is amazing!
That is a beautiful vehicle, inside and out. I love the angles.
Definitely some Mazda influence in the front end styling. Looks great.
Love this car. Can’t afford it right now, gonna have to stick to getting an older one for now. Great review.
Nice. Can’t wait for the twin turbo v6 hybrid. I love Acura’s SH-AWD
My favorite new SUV, inside and out. With the exception of the ILX, Acura is back in a big way.

That J series..... beautiful soundtrack!
Excellent review, I can't wait to get one this year.
6:29 "...the ratio changes depending on your speed..." The ratio changes with steering angle - not speed. The amount of steering assist changes depending on speed.
What? Speed is a %100 a factor in changing steering ratio, are you smoking crack? So you telling me the car knows whether you're going 100mph on the freeway or 5mph in the parking lot just by steering angle? Think.
@@theautomator2001, the steering ratio is determined by the number of teeth on the pinion gear and the spacing of the teeth on the rack - those are machined parts that don't change with speed. See section on EPS at this link. www.acurainfocenter.com/vehicle-info/2021-tlx/feature-benefits/chassis
What gas is used for MDX ?
The best suv Acura
Are they still reliable? 2018-2022
That is impressive😍 that corner at 8:15 seconds, you should use that corner to test vehicles handling
Wtf @ The sound system... best one i've heard by far.
Wish I could afford an Acura....
I like how you were flooring the gas pedal a lot and testing out the SH-AWD
Awesome video! Curious will you take this over a BMW X5??
Yes, if you don't want to pay close to 100k for X5
@@kromahj I think you can get a almost fully loaded X5 at $75K
@@deanc6110 and a fully loaded MDX is just north of 60k. MDX all day, everyday. It's more refreshing, I've seen the same BMW design language for 15 years now
You should make it a habit to do a launch and a break test in every video at the exact same time because that's really only why I watch these videos unless I want the car
Let me catch my son driving with California plates in Michigan
This was a top notch review!
how would you compare this to the Lexus RX?
Please advise how comfortable the drivers seat is for long trips? Which model or year is the most comfortable?
While this is awesome I do miss the ruggedness of the 2nd gen. From hardware store visits to camping to towing trailers, its been capable and since 2014 the trans and power steering coolers are no longer standard. I doubt we'll ever see one but would definitely be interested in buying a Acura version of the Honda Passport.
I believe the steering wheel stiffness changes with the drive mode you use.
you know it's a good year in america when honda makes a good MDX
Yet some American commenters on UA-cam bitch about it. It's hilarious, these new Acuras are going to do really well in the market
@@omairsh8true but again unfortunately people can be as biased/unbiassed as they like to be and a lot of people choose to go the biased route 😢, that’s why the opinions on this MDX and many other vehicles are mixed, though IMHO it’s a phenomenal product
True
Thanks for the great review. How do you position this compared to the MDX 2022 Type-s? Is A-Spec too sluggish / low-performance compared to the Type-s? Thanks for sharing your opinion.
