    Hearing the local kids talk about their ice time/ equipment costs put a whole new perspective on the NHL's desire to grow the sport in China. I wonder how things will change after the NHL does the pre-season games there this year. Also, are you planning on some kind of public event with the Pacific Rink guys in August? It'd be cool to meet you in person!

    • @CoachJeremy
      @CoachJeremy  7 років тому +2

      Thanks Nardo. They are building a lot of rinks in mainland China at the moment as they want to make a push to compete in the winter Olympics in 2022. I'm hoping to visit Cali with Pacific Rink in August. I'll post on social media if I'm coming

    • @CoachJeremy
      @CoachJeremy  7 років тому +1

      It was a little different, they didn't have dressing rooms, everyone gets dressed in the lobby. The ice is much better in Canada, it's so warm there and they turn the air conditioner off sometimes to save money so the ice gets really soft.

    It's funny you mentioned how odd it is having ice rinks in shopping malls (it is) but it's actually pretty common there, and is pretty much the only place to play hockey at all. I always thought that was pretty cool. Without a doubt the first Chinese-born NHLer will have learned to play hockey on a mall rink.

  • @johnnymnemonic3497

    Yea chinese quality. My bauer equip is half way to the trash after one year occasional use. Shoulder pads felt of chest protector because of stupid sewing, knee cap on both legs is almost disconected from rest of it beacuse of shitty sewing. They were cheaps s150 series so i bought new super tacs and there are both knee caps sewed crookedly. But i get it, if they were made in canada they will be so much more expensive.
