- Hello! In this video, I will share 5 simple ways that can immensely improve your drawings skills. I talk about easy drawing exercises like identifying shapes, forcing yourself to draw negative spaces, drawing without looking at the paper, drawing in a continuous line (without lifting the pencil from the paper) and setting yourself a time limit. These beginner friendly drawing exercises have helped me improve my drawing skills and I hope it helps you too!

"Draw without looking at the paper. Now this is a *fun* activity..."
Me: NO, NO ,NO NO NO NO, THIS IS MISERY IN DISGUISE
I learned 20% of this on my own and 80% of this in my 1st and only art class in Highschool. Guess my teacher really knew what she was doing haha
Daya D lucky if my school art class suuuucked that's why I'm going to a art museum to practice for classes
I like the art style of watercolors like that, this was very helpful for my motivation.
thank you :)
1:39 the video starts , your welcome
You’re* You’re welcome
Thank you!! I was looking for this comment😂
Thx
Actually 1:38
Thank you kind ser
I've seen a lot of "how to improve your art" videos but I have to say this. This video was, honestly, the best video for that topic I have watched. Lots of different techniques. I'm ready to try using these ideas and I looked at Skillshare and WOW! Thank you for this video
aw thank you :)
We did all of this in my art class at school!! 😮😮😮☺️
omg i noticed your voice sounds like Selena Gomez idk hahaha ❤❤
lol really? xD
Zyra Bañez are u Selena Gomez in disguised????
I recognized the voice thanks! 😂
jesse candelario not to me ;-;
i can hear it 😳
skillshare are scammers, TBH. a TON of people have been charged after canceling their trial and they give you no way of contacting them and do not refund you. i was fortunate that it didn't happen to me, but my friend... not so much. she lost $96 even though she already cancelled the subscription.
and i've even seen reviews from a teacher who had their work stolen and was not paid by skillshare.
they're a trash company.
it's not even worth it, imo. most of the classes are no better than the videos you can find on youtube for free. you're better off supporting the youtubers you like and learn the most from via patreon or something like that.
hale who this happened to me however the company did refund me the money since I only used it for one day then cancelled.
The concept seems fine, I think that inorder to build a continuous clientele they should really state that you need to cancel after 3 months or you will be charged. As well as make it pretty clear where to cancel.
Their product is good so why would they want to scam people out of a small amount when they could build more profits from returning customers.
SkillShare is a better way of supporting your favourite creators than just youtube or patreon.
Do you think it's possible for someone who's not naturally talented to become a good artist?
ArtofJoseGarza Ok, thank you 😊
CakeTheCat Of course! No one is naturally "good" at art. Everyone starts somewhere. As long as you set your heart to art and practicing and taking risks with materials, you will definitely see improvement!
I'm old, I could never do art, the art teachers at school refused to let me in the class I was so bad. But know I am learning and enjoying art. It's all about starting small and learning the techniques and practicing them.
Talent is just a figment of imagination. If you put hard work into it, you can be good at anything.
Natural talent doesn't exist, you can learn quicker than other or start earlier, maybe even have better resources/influences but it doesn't just pop up. You just have to work at it.
This video truly helped me as an artist. I never understood why after three years I haven't improved that much. I've always tried to start with the tiny details in a piece and work out. That doesn't work that well. Now that I know how to find the basic shapes inside an object and how to captures those I've truly began to grow. Thank you. This video has had me truly inspired
This was really helpful! Thank you very much!
In my opinion...
when we start practicing we get so involved that we just get off the track. From time to time, we should go back and see our old work and see our improvements. We should have samller goal which are much easier to achieve.. for example rather than having a goal to be really good at art chunk it down like practice eyes, nose, mouth, head etc. When we reach our goals we have feelings of accomplishment which motivates us to complete other goals. Seeking knowledge is what we should never stop doing, there is no stop. We keep doing what we wanna do. We are constantly learning.
And the most important thing when we want to improve in anything is to believe in yourself! Its a power! a true power. Believe it!
I wish everyone a very best of luck in their journey!
love love love these tips. thank you, Zyra!
your videos never fail to make me feel motivated to go back to drawing/painting again whenever I do stop.

thanks for sharing, i might check out skillshare when the semester is over. at the moment i'm drowning in layouts, inDesign and interviews with global artists for a 130 page magazine we are doing with an art biennal in my hometown. it's FUN, but stressful hehe. love having new projects for summer though (:

this is fun
Is the two month free trial good to the 15th of the month ? Cause i'm going to be too busy to sign up for the week and I don't want to waste any days.
you can sign up for the trial anytime in the month.. if you sign up on the 15th of May for example, then two months end roughly on the 15th of July :)
Can anyone tell me what style is the drawing and what style is the color??
What kind of brush is that?
I love so much your videos
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello zyra, I hope you'll reply my question. I once signed up for skillshare but I don't think there are many classes, just a few. Is that because I was using the one month free subscription? Will I enjoy more classes if I paid? Thanks! Nice vid ;))
I think so.. I was on their free membership ages ago and they didn't have lots of classes, but that was also years ago..so I'm not really sure now, but I also found that even with the subscription, you really have to search up for classes because the ones they feature on the home page are only the popular ones and there are good classes that don't get featured cause they're not super popular yet.. i hope that helps
Thnx aaaa looootttttt
Not looking down while doing a portrait yeilds some very Picasso results, lol.
Whenever I look at something nice that I want to draw,I can't memorise the shape or where each line starts and ends,I have Aphantasia, and being an artist with Aphantasia is difficult,so I have to actually look at the object, and I have to get used to drawing it
Sees zyra bañez video *clicks* screaming yassss!!!!!
🙈 🙈 🙈 💖
Let’s be real, 5:38 is what all my drawing look like.
I'm gonna draw from life in shapes of the negative spaces in one line without looking at the paper in 30 seconds 😎
How can i color like that? 😭
my hand hurts when i draw i think it because punch the nearest hard object due to infruitation from failing in drawing
i tried so much stuff and followed everything people say but my i still feel like my art is really bad. I improve slow, i could say i dont improve at all..
i neEded this
Yessss
2:32 is the start ❤
👍like👍
Omg this is a freaking infomercial
The class i take (at school) doesn't let us use references.
My drawing skills sucks :( hopefully this video improve my drawung skills
Are you a filipina? If yes,do you know how to speak tagalog? I just subscribed! I love your videos!
yep :) and I do ^_^ and THANK YOUUUU
+Zyra Bañez are you a pure filipino? Coz you speak english so well!
Subtitle, please...
Thanks
Is the skill share website a scam? Because if not I'd definitely be interested but I don't want my card to be charged even if I cancel the subscription.
Blah blah blah I like Udemy. I get the newsletter and a lot of times I'll find the courses I want for like $10-20 to have FOREVER. I hate this subscription stuff. I have access to everything but if I'm just dipping my toe in the water or am only looking at working on a certain set of things or one style, most of the material doesn't interest me. So I like Udemy. The prices are nuts but if you wait and get the email updates, what you want will be on sale within a month probably. I have a lot of art courses that have helped me tremendously. From proportion to texture to detail-work. So if you want an alternative, that's one I like a ton.
u teach gooood to me not me everyone
I draw too. But only my subscribers
The video starts at 2:15, Your Welcome.

Heyyy that's a Justin Bieber Someday perfume !!!
Her handwriting is more nice than her drawings😂😂😂😂😁😁😁
is any one wandering why this lady has a random teddy bear in a jar?
Video starts at 2:30 -_-
Arts doesnt even consist of IMPROVING our skills, all we learn is Renaissance Baroque NeoClassical art and how df are we supposed to LEARN how to improve art? We need skills not history!
how to improve your drawing. step 1 start drawing instead of watching.
ps. i watch it anyway
You need to sketch loose and fast lol
I noticed that you draw using your fingers. The most efficient way to draw and write is to to use our arms focusing on the wrist. It might be uncomfortable to switch, but this would decrease the unnecessary effort. Practice it and you'll notice the difference. It will be a huge improvement.
I herd that using your whole arm can be better than just your wrist if you need a shape thats hard to get.And everyone is different.
Ok, I understand the video is sponsered and all that. However this is the first video of yours I came across and it starts off with a 2 minute ad? Not a great way to get new viewers.
