The real WTC Twin Towers in VR 360

- Experience the awesome and enormous street view experience of the twin towers of the original World Trade Center, taken from the plaza and the South Tower observation deck.
This incredibly RARE 360 image panorama was captured on June 17 2000, by Mark Fink - photographer and former NASA employee.
These images have been stitched together from several composite images taken on the same day - apologies for the overlapping corners on some shots.
Its impressive that the technology existed even back then....
This video was made to inspire curious people of what it was like then the Twin Towers existed! It is also dedicated as an artifact to the Sept. 11 memorial and museum.
Enjoy.

Just absolutely amazing. Now we need to go further. Virtual Reality can bring these buildings back to life (though not in their physical form). If the ability is made and created for viewers to re-walk the Ground Level Of the former Site and the interior of Both Buildings, it will be re-opening the past. The instant that happens and you are literally walking through the doors of what once was or get extremely up close to the former steel exterior of the building, it would be as breathtaking as these buildings once were in public.
Mark Lacari what am absolutely great idea, just like Mission ISS brings the international space space to your perspective, a very accurate VR Experience of the original World Trade Center will be beyond breathtaking
we need people like you making video games and VR stuff
Owls have feelings too | There's more on the way
To be honest, the general public just wants the Twin Towers back in the original form. I do too. The virtual reality is awesome. How more awesome could be to stand on the outdoor observation deck again? That would be pure magic. Rather have that than this mediocre One WTC which fails in comparison to the sheer size, relevance and dominance of the Twin Towers.

I’m so lucky that I got to visit them in may 2000
Evan cain you did? That’s amazing
My mom got to go too
Stix N' Stones it’s not Lucky But it’s Not Disturbing either . It is what it is
I think they should have a Full 3D Hologram of them though, at least with an eye VR thing
Evan cain I was 9 when the attack happened
Evan cain The Twin Towers were nice before they got NUKED.
I always wanted to visit them this is the closest that I can get
You can always go to the landfill
Stix N' Stones GTA got a stinky reputation though , it’s Overrated

This is absolutely insane, this is the closest I will ever get to see them 😭
😭😭😭
Same. I've only seen these beautiful towers in movies and pictures. The most famous having the Brooklyn Bridge in the foreground.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😭😰😰😭😰😭😰😭⏪
I never Gad the privilege to see them in person

Breathtaking that this kind of tech existed!
Louis Gateway well I think it’s just panoramic photos that have now been adjusted to modern day vr to pan around the photo
SWAMPFOX yeah, but it’s still amazing that we’ve come this far
I love world trade center yor ever in my heart.
Nice pfp
Um... No. It's just a bunch of photos stitched together.
This is so freaking cool...

I ruined the likes 😈
I have never been there, I`m from Ukraine, born in 2000, but for some reason, it brings tears to my eyes. That early 2000s photo quality, music, feeling some kind of nostalgia and sorrow, it's very touching🥺😢
R.I.P. to all the innocent victims of 9/11
yes the same and also that ukraine is being terrorized by those russian demons makes me very sad and angry
USA without the twin towers is like Egypt without the pyramids
agreed, the New York skyline sucks now, truly dreadful and uninspiring since the twin towers fell
@Andy Sheppard I agree, the new tower seems very short in height actually.
@@Kingkongphil New York's skyline has risen a bit in the years since then. Hell had they not attacked for another 30 years the WTCs would've just blended in right with the skyline. Even then it is a bit shorter, and skinnier too it seems.
@@tropicalpalmtree The terrorists have won because we chose not to rebuild the twin towers. I miss the twin towers so much and I miss that outdoor observation deck on the South Tower. It was breath taking and beautiful. The new Freedom Tower a.k.a One WTC doesn't have this. That new building only has 3 indoor observation decks and they are not as high as the original twin towers.
@@Azarable i agree
This is sad yet crazy at the Same time
It’s sad because you can imagine what the people saw wen they jumped
Canucksfa yeah
Canucksfa nobody jumped from the roof tho but still sadly
@YT User I miss the twin towers. That outdoor observation deck was very beautiful.
@YT User The Freedom Tower doesn't have any of these things that the original twin towers had. I will never visit the Freedom Tower or the 9/11 memorial. There is nothing there anymore. I have no reason to go there. If the twin towers would have been rebuilt, I would have definitely visited there.
Simple that people Who jumped Saw the dead worstly
These buildings getting destroyed was my first memory growing up. As I got older I learned just how unique and cool they were. And honestly, my heart breaks when I look at photos of them. To know not only what happened to them, but also the fact that I will never be able to visit them and take pictures with them, or go to the top and just appreciate them in every way. I still think they should've rebuilt the Twins, but I can understand why they didn't. It just sucks, man. RIP Twin Towers. Forever a staple in New York.
R.I.P. WTC
I dream to visit twin towers, but unfortunately it's impossible
The potential and future that VR has will make it possible :)
@@freddiemcfred12 this makes me happy))
It’s sad to see that they are gone but I have hope that one day I will be able to bring them back.
It may be impossible to see them irl but that doesn't mean it's impossible to see them in another life or maybe even in another alternate universe
@@amethystosaphrodisias I could only hope so.
It’s almost like I’m there again back in 1999 when my family took me. It was absolutely beautiful and will keep that experience and memory in my heart.
God bless you. As of right now im 15 and I’m obsessed with these buildings. Thank you so much for this.

Seeing this makes me want to see twins in New York City even more!
I loved these buildings. I was planning to visit them on my summer holiday in 2002. So sad it never happened. Rest in peace all the innocent victims of 9/11.
Why did you decide not to go in 2002 ? What happened ?
@@transmitcoum2857i dont know if this isn't a serious comment, but if it is, look up 9/11 on google
@@transmitcoum2857 well, 9-11 happened
This is amazing, thank you for posting this.
Seeing people on the South Tower's observation deck taking pictures with the North Tower in the background makes me think how fortunate they are to have a photo like that. They possess a piece of history.
Rest in peace to all of the victims. I love New York and I'll never forget.
I went to the south tower in july 2001 I was on the very observation deck ill never forget it.
FloroWeb lol?
@@DylanLoughran9 it could be nervous laugh
I was born in the early 90s and i am obsessed with these buildings since im a small child. For me they are the most beautiful structure that was ever created. Till this day i dream about them and try to imagine how massive they must have looked in real life. Sadly i have never seen any skyscraper and i just cant imagine it. Im happy that there are other people who are obsessed with those buildings, i thought i am strange because of it
I never bothered to go up to the observation deck. It was a "tourist thing" you know, and I didn't want to stand on long lines, etc. Obviously I regret that now. I remember the mall vividly, and the train station. My family and I went to the mall all the time to eat crappy Sbarro's pizza and shop in the Channel 13 store and stuff. Strangely enough, my memories of what the plaza looked like had faded... occasionally when I walk past the memorial to commute home I've looked over at it and tried to remember. It bothered me that I couldn't recall it. So this video hit me pretty hard. Thank you for making it.
Man, this is absolutely incredible!
NASA fan and it was taken by a former NASA Employee in June of 2000.
@FloroWeb Hey, please freaking reply to me!!!
@FloroWeb It was in the description of the video!
@FloroWeb Do you know what music is used in this video?
@FloroWeb Do you like anime?
the ambient music and sounds in the backround make this like 5 times better
I hope this video will never be removed from UA-cam.
I do too!
Woah...I didn't realize you could actually touch and move the pictures yourself! Cool!
Yeah. 360 videos are really cool!
Why i cant move thepicture?
Thank you for pointing this out - I didn't know that and I was thinking that this video was pretty boring!!! LOL

never seen that function on YT before i think but i've used YT VR on my PSVR set and it was amazing
These photos look newer than 2001
u ever seen a photo from 2001?
Aliens.
@WillDuhFoh - You mean, before 9/11?
@George Kam I miss the twin towers and that beautiful outdoor observation deck that the South Tower had. These politicians are terrible for choosing not to rebuild the original twin towers and gives us a decent memorial for those who died on 9/11 and in the 1993 Bombing.
George Kam r/woooosh
Building six was always my favorite, I just loved the look of that building and wish we knew more about the smaller complex buildings (other than the mall, north bridge and survivor staircase)
I was born in 2008, thus making the chance to see the twin towers impossible. But god bless all the loved ones that passed away during 9/11. Thank the lord that i got to see the mamorial, but still, not the same thing.
Rip to all those passed away from 9/11
September 11 2001
I felt a sense of peace, so beautiful. I wish I could’ve been there but sadly that won’t happen :(
Why not ?
this made me shed a tear, thank you
I love this! It was such a horrible act. It is good to see something beautiful.
Watching this in VR is something else. Thanks for the video 👍🏼
I wish I was born earlier so I could see them in real life. This is probably the closest I can get. Thank you for making this.
Wow! Love this video! Makes you feel like you are there. I was so glad I was able to go in 2000 and got to experience the observation deck. Man it was so beautiful being on top of the world. And just can’t imagine what those people were feeling on 9-11. My heart goes out to everyone who lost their lives.
I was born in 2007 this is as close as i can get and i really really appreciate it
This is just like the google street view i cant imagine how amazing the twin towers looked in reality
RIP wtc twin towers
You will be remembered forever
VR could be the future of time travel tbh. Thanks for this.
Seeing this place with the music in the background is like a dream, knowing that this is no more but I can still feel like I'm there, it's so strange but magnificent at the same time.
I could feel and imagine as if I was standing there while recording the towers with my phone! This is incredible!
so glad I got to visit 3 times and experience the real thing
Hopefully you’ll have some neat pictures

Please give us more!! this is the closest ill ever get to the twin towers T~T I WISH I WAS ALIVE TO VISIT THEM BEFIRE THEY WENT DOWN

@General GTA uh hi lol
When Minecraft version 1.18 comes out, I’ll be building a realistic scale 1:1 replica of the entire complex inside and out, and I’ll be using the Minecraft chisels mod and better slabs for better accuracy
@@AluminumOxide I have already started building. It's gonna be Pog
UA-cam is the closest thing to a Time Machine we have.
No it’s not
I put on a VR Headset And I Shed a Tear They just looked so beautiful
I visited the WTC in July 2001. It still haunts me to this day that a good deal of the people I saw working there especially in the Observation deck are probably dead.
@FloroWeb Dead, killed, it's the same thing, they died as a result of being killed.
The deck wasn't open yet at 9am so hopefully most of the people you saw didn't die
Awesome! I never got to see them so thanks for this. ❤️
This is the closest experience to feeling like I'm there. I pressed the VR button and even though I don't have a VR headset. I put my eyes closer to my screen so both images can merge and wowit looks amazing. Even though it's a bit blurry because I'm close without the lenses, it still feels overwhelmingly real! The music is a plus!! Thank you ❤!!
Thank You! Precious material fotage from my beloved Twin Towers. 😀
Omg. I'm literally awestruck and crying here. Thank you so much for this opportunity to see those legends alive. 😢
What caught my eye was the title: Experience the REAL World Trade Center. I refuse to look at anything else but the REAL WTC.

I never thought in a million years I would be able to see the twin towers like this. Quite amazing! 😍✨
I sat in that very same courtyard, looking at the globe over 20 years ago many times. Yes, I'm crying because all these memories are flooding back in an instant.
A better world then now.

In my opinion, the Twin Towers, were better than, the new building constructed in the same place, called, Freedom Tower.

I remember experiencing this back in the day, I believe it was available on NYC website... Insane technology for the time.
Greetings from Chile, the video is wonderful. Frankly I do not understand human evil and its limits. I will never forget the day when the towers fell at the hands of terrorists. Without a doubt it is a deep wound.
Love to you🇷🇺
Not Osama tho. The guys behind the desks did it
uh oh, conspiracy theorists inbound..
il li yes me neither. It was a terrible day. I still can’t believe they’re gone :(. This is a lot better then what they built, and should have been rebuilt using the twin towers 2 design.
Incredible! Thank you. I was married in the World Trade Center in October 2000 and watching this was like being back there again.
Wow, that must have been awesome having a wedding in the WTC!
@@AluminumOxide It was! We were married in WTC2 and then had dinner in Windows on the world. We're in the UK but New York is very special to us.
I feel bad for the people, I even feel that I was there, from this video, it’s great but learning in the past after 9/11 it’s just sad that people are dead because of the terrorist.. This video is beautifully done for the VR.. I even felt sad remembering the screams... but this is was nicely done to respect those lost love.
