If you’re a band that’s been around for 3-4 years at that time and fans in Germany sing the intro to your song. It’s safe to say you’re gonna become famous.
These guys perfected thrash metal. Its too bad Cliff passed. It would have been interesting to see where the band would have gone with his classical influences.
Always wonder that too. Like would he wanted to go more commercial like the Black Album?? Idk maybe. I'd say no but look what that did for them money and popularity wise. Plus some good songs tbh. Buuuut not really again until Death Magnetic lol.
@@JordanJMyers I think they would have broken new ground in another direction. I have no idea that would have sounded like, but it would have been great.
@@roywall8169 Without a doubt. But lets say if Kirk lost and had to sleep where Cliff did and past, would some of those epic solos have been the same or close. Just crazy how it worked out. But they're my fav and im glad i finally got to see them in concert.
Agreed!🤘🏼🔥
It's too bad they didn't have more great albums lol.
I love how Lars is just a shadow in the background but you can still tell he's sweating his balls off back there.
he looked like Animal from the Muppets behind that set
Metallica in the mid-to-late 1980s played with such an unreal ferocity.
They sure played it fast here, even the original is pretty hard to play on guitar 😂
James starts out at album speed and then Lars speeds up like the coke fairy just left.
@@edgcrushr lmfaooooo
Let's not forget that James is downpicking the whole time. How is that even possible!?
@@johngeiger3770 Probably the furthest song of them for that claim, since all the riffs except the bridge in and out of verses have alternate picking.
Forearm starts tapping out 10 seconds into the riff doesn't it?
This is the start of James's badassness!!! Which he quickly evolved into. He was like a guitar athlete! In some of these early shows he actually jumps around while he's playing, kinda like riding a skateboard! BTW he was really into riding skateboards during these early years. He actually broke his arm around this time and couldn't play for s while. Yep, he was a guitar athlete, so badass!!!!
I think when Lars set off on this fenzy he forgot he was gonna have to do the double bass bits 😂😂😂 absolute insanity
The Metallica boys were barely in their twenties here... Metallica was formed in 81 and James and Lars were like 17 years old then. So they have all the energy in the world to put out here.
And they had a feud with Megadeth in the 80-early 90's that who could play the fastest as that was the "thrash meter". So, like here, they are playing this faster than on the record. As they did with most of their songs of this era. They can still do all of it, but not this fast most likely and I don't know if Rob can handle the bass like it would need to be played here. Cliff Burton was a one in a million of the top 1% of bass players. He was creative as heck too...
You guys have to do “No remorse” from the same show it’s insane
THIS
Finally someone reacting to the psycho Metallica from deep in the 80’s…very hard to beat this Metallica….I really suggest reacting to more of this phenomenal show!!!
Ray Burton told the story about how Cliff would complain about not being able to turn his head after shows lol. He was basically like son, have you seen what you do during a show? Cliff was a world class head banger!
He absolutely would of lost that or adapt it later on if he lived and continued on lol
Cliff was a very unique headbanger. His style was something that you don't see he would just head banged even in the slow parts and that's what made him unique. That's what made him the best in my opinion.
@@barrymolnoski7411 Totally agree!
Old School Metallica. Luv it!!!
"He's so skinny".. it's interesting that Travis should mention this as James's nickname during this period of their career was "Bones". So this is the first Metallica song I ever heard back in high school and at the time I'd never heard anything like it. I was familiar with Motorhead (who's song-"Overkill" is the inspiration that Lars admits to getting this kick drum pattern from) and of course I already loved Iron Maiden, so the obvious maiden omage of the twin guitar harmonies in the middle of the song also made sense to me... but that was about where all familiarity ended. The sheer speed of this thing was an absolute Revelation to me and his vocals were melodic yet almost barbaric in their simplicity. Of course an apocalyptic theme of nuclear devastation was also very much on point for the 1980s. This is my favorite era of Metallica, and I have a ton of amazing memories to this stuff. It is awesome to see it still be able to excite a new generation of metalheads now.
Everybody thinks Overkill , but Fireball by Deep Purple and Some Judas Priest tunes had that kind of beat .
And before Overkill
Cliff's was also a massive Thin Lizzy fan and brought the harmonies to Metallica
Pure fucking talents.....
It is definitely a fast song but not their fastest. Their fastest song is probably Dyer's Eve but you won't see many live versions of it because it is a very difficult song to play.
When I first saw the close up of James looking into the camera, it startled me and I immediately looked away.
It was as though James caught me staring at him. Lol 😆
This is when Metallica were badasses. A hungry, killer band on the rise. Cliff 'Em All!
Young and hungry MetallicA. Great show!!!!!
My fave thrasher of theirs, and one of their most underrated imho - doesn't get mentioned among their best thrashers nearly as often as some others even though it should be.
When I hear this riff I think: MOSH PIT…MOSH MOSH PIT…MOSH PIT…MOSH MOSH PIT😝😝😝🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
Back then, James was a non stop monster!
Cliff!!! The Kings!!!
That was the first song of Metallica, which I heard in the radio on BBC. I still love the slow classical beginnings of a lot of there songs. Also I can remember me that nobody couldn't believe that somebody can play so fast. But if you have seen these guys live (I enjoyed a concert at 1983 or 1984 I guess in Zwolle Netherlands). Venom was the headliner. And Metallica was so impressive there. Also the bass solo of the old bassist, who died later in Sweden at a bus accident. So sade ... That bass solo sounds like bells in the church ... amazing. I only found a video of that solo, where he played it at another concert. Metallica is after all the years still one of my favorite bands!
Cliff Burton!!! yes!!!
Next is Call of Ktulu ?
Fight fire with fire set a mark in extreme metal!
React to some more 85 and 86. While cliff was alive, they played as humanly fast as possible lol
they played even faster after
@@kyloten-raikerz6638 alcohol and drugs lol of

MOST LIKELY JAMES AND THE REST OF THE BAND HAD A QUART OF BOOZE AND A CASE OF BEER IN THEM...AND LARS ADMITS DURING THIS TIME FRAME THAT HE CLIFF AND KIRK WERE ALSO INTO THE BLOW...NO JOKE ITS IN THEIR AUTOBIOGRAPHY...CAN DO A REACTION TO SOME GOJIRA....? SPACE TIME OR THE EXTENDED VERSION OF THE SONG PRAY AT LIVE AT RED ROCKS 2017 ARE GOOD SONGS TO START WITH...PEACE FROM THR NORTHEAST..

Cliff is the man he will always be the man.
Wow! Cliff Burton in a video reaction!!! R. I. P. Cliff. You were the best!
They were so young
Cliff Em All. Rip
6:38 Lars finally popped out & stopped 1 measure too soon for the break. I noticed the tempo was ever so slightly dragging just a pinch, I couldnht play that though but, Its interesting to hear things like this when I never noticed it before.
Also at the end Kirk was TRYING to turn up his tone knob because his break dive was coming up and when he hit it it didnt sound off too good, but overall it kicked ass really. They were in overdrive for the first 4 years or so
RIP Cliff :.(
You should two more songs from same show, seek and destroy and fade to black. Fucking rageing
bass was Cliff Burton RIP was a badass
RIP! Cliff
You guys should find Cliffs bass solo. It’s amazing. He was the goat. Also there are live shows while Mustaine was still in the band.
6:25 favourite part of this song .. lasr dubbl base .. ❤️❤️❤️
Very sad ...this should be my first concert but my parents dont let me go ..cause i was 13
you should go anyway, you would have memory of a lifetime that many ppl like me would never have chance of it
I have guitar tab book of this album officially from Metallica. It is played at 240bpm!!! I don't even bother trying to play this song!!

Now this is fucking Metallica!!!!!!!
You wanna know how that’s possible on bass CLIFF FUCKIN BURTUN

You should definitely know Dark Quarterer, an Italian Epic / Progressive Metal band that has nothing to envy to the great English or American bands. The songs Dark Quarterer, The Etruscan Prophecy, Retributioner, Pyramids of Skulls are masterpieces of this genre
“Damage Inc” live in London 2017 or Quebec 2009 please 🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘….thanks for your great Metallica-reactions and greetings from Denmark ( Lars’ native country) 🇩🇰🇩🇰
James was on the Heineken's
I'm a brazilian fan of you wanted to ask please do the reaction of metallica's song "spit out the bone"...
They get into their auto pilot facial expressions fir every video.
You think this is fast? Listen to whiplash from them 🤘🤘
Fastest thing on earth: Fight fire with fire milan 1987
You should listen to creeping death from Toronto 1986, its the fastest most butal thing you will ever hear, or just the whole Toronto show for yourself
james master of downpicking
Can you play fast … “ METALLICA IN THE 80’s, HOLD OUR BEERS “ 😉🤘🏻💯….
Kill em all album was the fastest and best thrasher album. The whole album was awesome
imagine watching the video up to 3:00 just to get a random ass walgreens add to take you out the zone. smh
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Metallica was fast as hell till the...Black Album!! After that, nevermore the same speed.
And to think they were drunk as hell
Hey Lars, can you pick up the tempo a bit
Right LOL
И Джеймс такой молодой...
React to Damage, Inc. live from the 80's pls!!!
This song is fast enough already but Lars the drummer is playing at double speed & the other guys have to keep up with him.
Please react to the same song but live in Mexico 2009. It’s awesome
Lord riff Alan James

Bannanas \m/
Likik
When it was worth listening to this group
Muse - resistance (live) please 🙏🙏🙏
So many of you are missing out on all of the Kill Em All album before this one?!😵😴
Metallica with Cliff.
Hey try a reaction on the song by queen: let me live....beautiful one
I dedicate this song to those who don't respect Lars drumming. The boy was brutal, he got old as many of you will, and see how you age. You'll probably hear echoes reminding how cruel your comments were about Lars or anybody from the band.
James Lion lml
Metallica after cliff's death sort of got more commercial Even though hardwired To self destruct and and 72 seasons are the best Albums they've done Since the end Justice for all I always prefer The Metallica from the 1st 3 albums I would have loved To have seen and heard and Justice for all With cliff playing thecause he did have an influence on the songs of that album even though he was gone because he had worked on some of them before he died rest in peace cliff there'll never be another like you But I'll always miss you
The real Metallica.
I'd like to suggest a female vocalist to listen to "YEBBA - My Mind (Sofar NYC)" I hope you will give her a listen, she will blow you away! I look forward to hearing what you think. Thanks and have a good day.
Pause the video at 3:20 & look at their faces... that's all you need to know...
If you think this song is fast you should listen to their song Dyer's Eve
THAT is METALLICA.
Quite Quick 🤣
