in 2006, the album Master of Puppets was 20 years old, it's 35 today. Also, it had only been three years since Robert Trujilo had joined Metallica. today he's the longest-lasting bassist in the band's history.
It almost makes you want to cry when you hear them play the recording of Cliff playing the melodic intro he composed for this song. Another wholesome moment of Metallica remembering their fallen brother in arms.
Hey y'all and thanks! We started out on the outskirts of one pit near the front because I am kind of small (and I am older, so the mosh pain gets less worth it as you age) but I got shoved in deeper than I wanted to - I tried to be nice, but I don't speak German, so I was like "Nein" "Nyet" "NOOO" then threw a few elbows but the energy was just infectious. Basically the whole standing crowd was a mosh - so no matter where you went, it was happening. My husband steered us close to the stage and I hid behind him and a security guy for awhile then we went back in. I don't know what was happening at this show, but everybody there was just insane - plus at shows like this, the band seems to speed up the tempo of already crazy fast songs which just keeps the cycle going. People talk about how Metallica has "fallen off" or whatever but I have never left a show sorry that I went.
Awesome request and killer backstory. I certainly wish I could share my love of the band with my wife and daughter (daughter is a casual fan). I almost got sucked into 2 separate mosh pits years ago...once at a White Zombie show and once at a Black Flag show. Scary if you've not prepared for the physicality of it all.
@@VadersRage I have decided I am better off in the "gold circle" section. It's more expensive, but at least I can walk out lol. Being short historically has been an advantage and disadvantage because my head is at elbow level, but it's also easier to crawl out. It is rare though that people won't make a path though - just tricky when you are somewhere you don't know that language.
My experience after 17 concerts with Metallica; it is the vibrant and so intense mood and excitement among the fans that is being released into pure energy when Metallica starts playing one banger after the other for 2 1/2 hours. It’s like igniting a bomb of positive power for 2 1/2 hours being under Papa Het’s command and the otherworldly music…..🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I highly recommend watching the whole show, not only do they play the whole Master of Puppets album in its entirety but every single member is at their 100% on this show. Metallica rules! \m/
Any Metallica show. The energy is palpable before they even come out. You can feel the anticipation and excitement. The room is thick with it like Louisiana humidity. Then they play the music they always play right when it’s about to start. Energy rises. Lights go out. People start screaming and it just feels insane. Then they walk out. Blackened or creeping death and it’s BONKERS! All 7 times I saw them
I was at this concert (a total of 12 Metallica concerts since 1988). Metallica played for almost 3 hours. After about 5 songs James said that this is the 20th anniversary of the release of Master of Puppets and because of that they played the entire album in the exact order of tracks like on the album. After they were through with it many others songs did follow. Metallica tickets are worth every dime! They work their asses off on stage. CHEERS from Berlin! btw: Berlin's audience is always wild and great. ;)
I’ve been a Metclub member since it started. I won tickets to see them at the Fillmore in San Francisco with only 400 people. I have the shirt with the date on it. Everyone wants to buy it from me. Nope. I’ll never sell that shirt.
Great reaction..from Indian fan here...really love the purple lipstick of Suzy q(thats what I saw and heard so please take message in positive sense)...Metallica rocks totally and this one of their best thrash songs, but even better reaction by you guys😊😊😊😅😅
Having been to a Metallica show I can attest to the fact people go a little nuts at their shows. This is the one song I wish they had played at the show I attended but they did play Fight Fire With Fire so I can't really complain but both would have been great. Just saying.
❤ Around 0'50" You are priceless my Amici ! Around 2'47" i appreciate this attitude . Humility , pureness, dedication . The Mosh kings where S.OD. Stormtroopers of Death March of the S.O.D. Anthrax Metalica and S.O.D. They fed off each other. Metalica had battery, damage inc. And Whiplash the Thrash Athem.
The fact you guys think this is incredible..well...this is way past their prime Metallica! Just goes to show how incredible they were to still have such an impact long after it was over.
those guys never heard metallica? you cant be called a fan of metal music and even musician that plays metal and dont known the album master of puppets and the songs of that album, thats the holy grail of metal music right there!! thats my opinion ,those guys are a big no no no !
@@Anisba100 yea, here when the camera went behind Lars, I CAN FINALLY CONFIRM HE DOESN'T EVEN PLAY DOUBLE BASS, he did the exact same at Fight Fire with Fire live in Mexico 2009 I was curious of what kind of beat he played in mexico because it didn't sound like it should've sounded, and now here I finally found out what he does. It's not like the Thrash beat is even hard to play 😩😩😩😩. I mean at least he did the 16th notes Double Bass part but like the normal Double bass thrash beat isn't hard and he just doesn't play it. He doesn't even try the rest on the Drums of whats in the studio recording 😪
Here is what is sooo amazing about this. The person who requests these Metallica videos is showing us all requests from all the concerts this person has attended!! How cool is that. Pastor of Muppets tours around the world going wherever the band goes for vacation instead of your typical beach trip. How cool is that! That is die hard!
jeez, it took 3 and 1/2 minutes to get to the video... That said, James is really sloppy with his lyrics, always has been, but this is worse than normal. It's almost like he doesn't want to be there.

One of the many songs why Metallica is the greatest metal band ever

One of my favorite lines of Metallicas.... Living on your knees, conformity,,,,Or dying on your feet for honesty.
Brutal and beautiful

Cliffs last song
🖤
It's a spiral, vortex, torus, like the swirling serpents around the cross. All are giving and receiving energy. Yin and Yang. God.
My favorite Metallica song also.
I’ve seen them front row 14 times. I have a collection of their picks that they threw out.

El problema de los humanos es pensar que master of puppet o one es lo mejor de Metallica... Dios no
